I think it's time I retire from teaching for a while.

[ When Stefan announced the prayer room, a quiet place for meditation, Obi-Wan had been thrilled. While he enjoyed and cared for the Huntress, quiet is not something they are known for. After talking to Anakin, he knew he was in dire need of quiet and inner peace

He does not regret ( he can not regret )

And yet.

In a way he had envisioned as a child, it had always been Master and Padawan, together. Even when separate, they fought together, learned together, believed in each other. But Qui-Gon died all too soon, and for so long, Obi-Wan threw his hands up against tradition. When Yoda told him to be Anakin's master, he chose to be Anakin's friend. He did not caution against attachment, only warned where it might lead.

He breathes heavily, his legs folded on the mat. It's not working. The Force is still too quiet, too alien at this moment. It doesn't understand his sorrow.

Obi-Wan chuckles, opening his eyes and pushing his hair back. It should be used to that by now.

Looking down at his hands, he's quiet when he speaks. ]

Please help me.

I fell into a pit full of flesh-eating firebeetles when I was thirteen. For training purposes.

Ahsoka was spared from that. I imagine that kind of training will rankle for you, bringing children into dangerous situations.

Anakin both shielded and taught her well that she will survive on her own as her own person. She made her own choices. And that is what I expect of her or any other Padawan.

I understand where you're coming from. She's young. If she wants to face the horrors of war, that's her decision.

I know how capable she is. Even so, Mr. Kenobi, I won't lie. It doesn't sit right with me.

And it never will.

You do not come from a galaxy with Jedi. You have not seen us at our best and worst. For you, it will never feel right.

But for the galaxy, there is that Force of rightness that no one can deny. You may not agree with the methods, but you've met Ahsoka. And her existence is undeniable.

[ The explanation is -- oddly comforting. He has been in Ahsoka's mind, seen a little through her eyes. ]

War asks a lot. In that, we agree.

If it helps, Jedi do not normally fight wars. We are usually neutral and act in the name of peace keeping.

But certain . . . issues forced our hand. There is fault in us for it. But there is fault all around.

She explained it to me, thank you. I'm a soldier myself; I fought in one of the greatest conflicts so far in my world's history.

Then you're lucky to have survived.
