[It starts recording without her realizing it. She's exploring her new surroundings cautiously. She places a hand on one of the cots and then pushes it through as if the cot weren't there at all. She removes her arm and both it and the cot are unharmed. Just testing her powers, don't mind her. She got worried when she realized her claws were missing.

Then she gets a better look at her communicator. It's a different model than she's used to.]

Is this another prison?

[It wouldn't be the first time the AIs sent them to a new facility. A space prison is as fitting as anything else, but there's usually some kind of message about it. This feels different.]

Is anyone from the Defense Force around? [Pause.] Or the X-Men. [She couldn't really be home though could she? In space?] Or anyone. Preferably someone with a light. [She can't find her lighter, but she still has a pack of cigarettes on her.]


(OOC: So, the coloring they used in AoA often makes her hair look reddish or blond, but I doubt the post-apocalyptic reality was really where she was going to start dying it. If you have known a Kitty Pryde, please just assume she looks like her—possibly younger or older. Shorter hair though. <3)

[She does look at it for a moment before responding like a real person and shaking it. That didn't take many cards apparently.] What's home like for you, Sascha?

...Earthy? I'm not really sure what you mean. [ Because if she means his day to day life rather than the state of the planet...it's pretty lonesome. Most of the people he knew are gone already. ]

You can't just describe your entire world and life in a couple of pithy sentences? [Yeah, yeah, she knows it's hard.] What do you do? Solider? Rock star? God of death? Student?

Vampire. [ he raises his hand like he's answering a question. ] So...I slept a lot during the day, and hung around at night. I've followed a lot of people home. [ ....To steal their beds mind you, and half the time he was invited so THERE YOU GO. ]

[Not her first vampire. Of course they were all kind of different—Damon, Spike, Zero, Yuuki.] Are you telling me you're a stalker? [Dude, she shook hands with you.]

[pneumo]

I'm not that dedicated. [ Don't...worry?? Uh. ] I don't check anyone out beforehand or anything like that! I'm happy with anyone who'll spend time with me.

Just spend time? [Edge of suspicion here. If she were in familiar territory you'd have a bit more rope to work with.]

[pneumo]

Well yeah, usually! I don't need blood all that often and it's more fun to hang out with someone than have them attack me... [ And trust me, he's had that second one happen more than he cares to think about. ]

I think humans are fun.

Given those options, sure. [She's not so sure what to think, but he is the one volunteering the information so why lie about it when he could have just skipped it.] I'm not. Human I mean.

[pneumo]

Wait...really? [ Now it's Sascha's turn to blink and look confused as he tilts his head a little and gives her an obvious once-over. ]

You don't smell like you're not.

Thank you? [Pretty sure it's not really a thank you situation, but what do you say?] I'm a mutant.

[pneumo]

[ Hopefully she isn't suspecting some kind of great reaction of revulsion or pleasure or anything, because most of all he just looks...well, underwhelmed. Pretty much the same as two seconds ago. ]

And that's...different?

[She expected it for several years of her life. She expected it while saving people and usually got exactly that. She continued to expect it in prison where it was met with wonder more often than anything else. At this point, she doesn't know what to expect.]

Just different enough to kill and die over.

[pneumo]

Are they really that different from humans though? I can't tell the difference. [ If it's any consolation for Kitty. Sascha doesn't notice anything about her that would suggest otherwise. If he had to guess between someone like him and someone like a human, she'd definitely be human. ]

We can be. Kurt is here. He's blue. [Among other things.] We all have special abilities. But we're all fundamentally people, but that goes for vampires too.

[pneumo]

[ That's...quite possibly the first time anyone's ever actually told him that, from a human standpoint. Vampires sure, but they tend to insist they're somehow better than the mortals they used to be. But for someone (close enough to) human to call him that?

Sascha can't help the look of surprise on his features when she does, staring for a moment. ]

...You really think that??

[She broke her new new lazy vampire stalker buddy.]

That's why I said it. [Watching him thoughtfully.]

[ She totally did, and that's why he's kind of half-holding his arms out to her like he just wants to throw them around her. And also maybe cry a little. ]

That's the first time anyone's ever told me that... [ Bless you, angel. She's been sent to him as a sign of deliverance from his dark times of judgemental humans. This must be it. ]

[What are you doing with your hands, sir? She's not moving. If he attempts a hug he may end up groping, walking, or falling through her phased self.]

[ He is doing nothing untowards, and he totally will try to hug her...only to miss, fall straight through, and land flat on his face as a result.





And then answer her from down there. ]

They hate us. Ow.

[Oops? She does turn around and offer him a hand. That's something angels do, right?]

That's kind of how it works for mutants back home, but under the circumstances it's hard to blame them.

[pneumo]

[ Oh yes, totally right after they send you to the floor they do this! Sascha looks understandably puzzled as he stares at her hand, experimentally poking at it before he decides to take it. Gotta make sure it doesn't go through again. ]

Genocide. [This is the kind of light, pithy conversation you have when you're new and should be making friends, right?]

[ Totally, there's nothing at all depressing about this! ]

...That seems a little harsh. [ But he will take her hand anyway and give it a tiny squeeze. ]
