Chocolate-flavored Dessert Cream on the House

[The bunks are filling up, but the new faces just keep appearing!

Are you a travel-weary passenger having trouble keeping your crew roster straight? Perhaps you are a fresh new recruit, finding themselves dumped into a new (and much less shiny) home. Or, maybe you've been around for a little bit and just haven't bothered meeting the other weirdos on this ship yet--what is their problem, anyway?

Well, this is the place for you!

All new passengers from the last few Shuffles, especially those who haven't met their crews yet, are welcome to post starter-comments here to invite those living on and visiting your ship to come and interact. Newbies could be just arriving on the ship, busying around where others can find them, or you can offering multiple options for interaction--however you'd like to set up your thread is fine. Just make sure to include the name of your ship in the header, so your crewmates can easily find you!

Everyone else-- go meet those newbies! Whether they are new to your own crew, or on ships you frequently visit, now is a great time to bump into them.]

[Another smile is nice to see — almost a relief, even, as Kaworu values joy so highly. This seems like a friendly person, and greetings have been exchanged, which means that he and Kaworu are pretty much friends now — Kaworu's fairly certain it works that way. He's not entirely sure, granted. It's rare for a human being to want to make friends with him. Then again, this person probably just doesn't know what he is.

Kaworu doesn't let himself dim. There are worlds without Angels, he reminds himself.]

Yes, that's me. Thank you.

[Though... he's not aware of... this custom? He thinks he knows a little something about the extension of a hand during meetings, but how does it work exactly? He reaches out, and takes Clay's hand.

And holds it there.

As he smiles. A little unsure, but totally earnest.]

[And you know what? That pretty much makes them friends by Clay's book, too. With his hand being taken, Clay shakes it and loosens his grip -

Only for his hand to still be held. Ah, okay, he understands. It's a little awkward, but he gets it.]

Oh, uh - This is actually an Earth custom; it's how we greet people! [He smiles, gives Kaworu's hand a shake again, then lets go of his hand fully this time.] You take the other person's hand, shake it like that, then let go, just like this. Sorry, I never know who actually knows about handshakes and who doesn't.

[!!!] I see... [And, as directed, Kaworu releases Clay's hand as well, this time completing the gesture with more propriety. An Earth custom, huh... Or, more appropriately for Kaworu's understanding, a Lilin custom. Human beings communicate in such exciting ways.] I like it, [he says decisively.] Thank you for showing me.

Hey, you're welcome!

[He puts his hands on his hips now, a more welcoming grin on his face rather than the big, excited one he had upon seeing Kaworu.]

I know this is probably all a bit overwhelming, but if you need anything at all, just call one of us. This ship is the SS Vanquish, and we all look after each other. [He gestures to himself,] I'm Clay Terran. I'm the pilot and the captain of this ship.
