[There's a poof of confetti and a celebratory pudding, but there's no new crew member. Unless... you can see him, that is. He staggers but catches himself, and then smoothly tucks the brim of his hat over his eyes.

This is the furthest he's been from Rose or Sorey in a Very Long Time. He can feel the malevolence growing unchecked, a constant nagging nausea, which he acknowledges and then ignores. It's... time to find out who can see him.

If people miss him on the bridge, they can catch him stalking people down the hallway to see if they notice, or hanging out against the wall with his arms crossed. Barring that, he's curious enough to explore the rest of the ship, even crewmate's rooms. The jacket you left on the floor? Possibly being thrown over to your bed. That little ostrich bobblehead you got off some planet months back? Definitely floating off your shelf.]

[He'd been kind of excited; finally, he was on the same ship as Mikleo. He didn't have to worry about the malevolence poisoning him because his domain should be large enough to encompass the ship and keep Mikleo relatively safe from it. He wouldn't have take the shuttle over there fourteen times a week. And, if he was seeing things right, they had just lost their engineer anyway so Sorey was the only one available to fix things up. Which...was kind of intimidating, okay, but still they needed someone and Sorey would do his best.

So he reclines onto Mikleo's bed and starts poking around in his communicator, listening to the new voices, looking for anything interesting.

He sits up with a start. ...that voice, it can't-]

[ Ahsoka is a very strange-looking girl, as far as Alistair is concerned. But she covered the "horns are not a hat" thing right away, so there goes that question. And he was raised with a certain amount of politeness, at least enough not to simply blurt out but why are you orange. So he just gives her a smile once he makes it to the cargo hold - for such a small space, the ship is pretty confusing to get around at first! ]

[The newest passenger on the ship is slowly making her way around it. Down the hallway she goes, glancing at each door--or perhaps quietly pushing it open, if it's ajar. She doesn't mean to snoop in anyone's private quarters, but she is curious about her crew mates.

Eventually, she makes it to the kitchen. The food she's had so far hasn't really sat with her right, and so she takes her time opening and inspecting the spices. The gelatin powder gets sniffed and carefully tasted before she makes a dignified yuck noise and sets it aside. The microwave gets opened and closed, the stew pot peered into.

And given that she didn't spot a door with her name on it, she's probably going to end up claiming the table for a bed. But at the end of her exploring she just sits at it, looking mildly sulky. Now what does she do?]

While I was over there playin' boredom-games on the Marvisa, somebody told me that the food out here is pretty much shit. So, I might have made sure I stockpiled some before I got hit by the shuffle.

[She pans her phone over to show that she is in the kitchen, and there's some not-processed weirdo space food on the table.]

Anybody wants some can come and get it. Better hurry before it's gone though.

[Yes she is bribing people with food to come be her friend. Oops?]

[Her feast announcement made, Chloe plopped down in one of the chairs, boot-covered feet stretched out onto another as she munched on something-or-other from her haul and waited for her new crewmates to turn up. How'd she get it here? Don't ask too many questions and ruin the moment, man.]

[And she can be found wandering around the ship, getting the lay of the land, poking her nose into all the places it does and or doesn't belong. She's got a cigarette between her lips, but it's not lit for the moment, just anticipating when she finds the right place to light it, probably.]

[Not having a door to her own bunk is a bit of a concern, she could be found standing outside of the various named doors frowning. Hmm.]

[So Chloe is now the ship's medic. Which is a shame for pretty much everyone involved but at the moment she has run of the lab. And that was where she can be found, headphones in her ears, blasting music that is just a bit audible through her earbuds and might be The Clash. She is humming to herself.]

[She has the medicine storage cabinet opened and is taking stock of everything, spreading it out on one of the counters, making little rows of various types. Because someone thought it was a good idea to put her in charge of drugs.]

[Varric doesn't take long to track Chloe down. She's probably not expecting... uh... a beardless Lord of the Rings dwarf to bust in, but here he is.]

[Once he's recovered from his facepalm, he takes in the sight of her properly.]

[ Was there no reprieve to this shuffling in sight? From one foreign environment to the next, Alisaie finds herself at wit's end with the change in her surroundings. At least this one had come with preemptive warning as the young Elezen stepped through the corridors. She'll pause every few steps to inspect something up close or to turn her head in the direction of a sound she can't recognize. Her mood tempers the longer she explores, cooling down in favor of taking in the sights around her.

The kitchen is one of her stops though she only stays long enough to try the pumpkin-spice meat before tucking it away to save for later. If she's fortunate, she'll find something edible to consume before she's forced to indulge in this abomination.

At some point in her exploration, she comes across the bridge and the communicator's station easily enough. As surprising as it is to discover that she knows what the buttons do, she won't push anything out of fear of who may answer the call. The aspiring scholar will leave that to individuals better suited for the task and work on familiarizing herself with the layout. While larger than most buildings found in Eorzea, the size still seems rather small for a vessel.

It's all rather fascinating though she remains true to the course of exploration. If this was to be her home for an undetermined amount of time, it was best to be familiar than to be ignorant with it.

Note: Alisaie is a rather small elf-like girl with bangs long enough to cover her eyes. Quick size reference even though that's her twin brother. She recently made a broadcast here. [Greed isn't a common sight on the ship lately and that's because the Starlight has so much to offer that it simply makes no sense to come back to a cramped ship to sleep when he's managed to set himself up with enough cash to be staying at the nicer places every day. But if the Huntress does have one purpose, it's the fact that it has hidden compartments all over the place that make it an ideal place for making cash deposits or withdrawals. So it's after making one such transactions that Greed is making his way through the corridor at the same time she is.

From behind, he mistakes her for another kid. Welp, time to do his captainly duty and acknowledge her existence.]

You our new passenger? I wasn't here for the welcome wagon.

Shinji Ikari | SS Heron (pilot) | action, but also available via the network.

1. Arriving on the SS Heron. (cw: vomit.)

[To be honest, SS Heron's claustrophobic layout is downright nostalgic for Shinji Ikari. He has had plenty of experience with sitting in a tiny capsule, unable to move very much in any direction. (It's a long story.) But when he's made to board the ship, it's clear that he isn't accepting of his new surroundings. More than angry, he seems terrified: he's as white as a ghost that has been dipped in bleach. He's even starting to hyperventilate--oh, this is an actual panic attack. At least he's more responsive than when he appeared on the Marsiva. Probably a good thing...

But it isn't long before he finds a nice, quaint corner to throw up in. Repeatedly. All of that above-average food he ate in the Marsiva's cafeteria turns into an indescribable splatter on the floor. Thankfully, Heron is equipped with helpful cleaning droids that should ensure the mess doesn't linger.]

Sorry, [he says to the droid, when his heaves subside. He rubs at his mouth and the tears in his eyes.] I'm so sorry. I'm... [And he'll apologize to you, too, new shipmate. He never learned how to cope in any healthy way.]


2. Inside the kitchen.

[Eventually, Shinji channels some of his horror into something more constructive than being sick in corners. He can be found in the kitchen at times, poking at the food machines, a distinctly bland look on his face. This food is probably better than what he's used to, but he doesn't know what to think of it. Right now, he's in the middle of experimenting with the options available. His varied creations end up strewn across the counter as he, somewhat obsessively, puts together entrée after entrée of whatever. If a poor shipmate seems at all interested in soft-serve strawberry peanut butter or liquid-gel bacon licorice, he mutters,] You can have it. I'm not hungry.


3. Hanging out in the medical bay.

[Even though Shinji can withstand many painful things, he's grateful for the amount of supplies in the medical bay. A replenishing stock of basic painkillers? Wonderful. Is there anything in here that will cure his insomnia? God, yes. He tries to be discreet about what he's taking, since he has no idea if he's allowed to have this stuff. Either way, he definitely isn't trying to raid the ship's supply of Nyquil. He just wants to sleep fitfully for once in his life.

If you interrupt him, he's quick to avoid eye contact and hide his hands.] I was just looking around, [he says quietly.]

[ No one really uses the medical bay. They hardly ever need to, the worst case that could ever happen here is someone running out of painkillers. It's the light and sound within that draw him to it, and he frowns at the smallish kid now on the ship. Jim's an imposing figure even when he doesn't mean to be, but he steps out of the doorway and into the room so he's not blocking the only escape. ]

[ Anyone abroad the SS Golden may just have the complete, absolutely, not-at-all misfortune of waking up, well, not alone. Because whether they laid down for a quick nap or settled in for the night, at some point Sascha not only discovered them...but also saw fit to climb in next to them and huddle right up.

So they might just wake up with the world's laziest vampire draped across them, cuddled up to their side, hugging their arm...you name it, he'll do it. Sascha may even be chewing on their clothes in his sleep and have given them a nice big wet spot.

[Kaworu probably looks like he belongs out here in space, with his moon-like complexion, eyes like Mars, and most of all, his very strange clothing, a plugsuit that clings to him and seems very space-y indeed.

At first glance, his brows are drawn down and inward; he roams the corridors while he runs a hand through his hair and sighs. Sighing is something he doesn't really need to do — it's a psychosomatic habit, something to do just to relieve stress. It isn't really working. But if he catches sight of a new crewmate, he'll do a complete 180: his face mellows and softens completely, looking gently glad, the crease at his brow traded in for a smile. The hand at his hair raises instead in greeting.]

Hi. It's a pleasure. [It's a genuine appreciation for company... even if this isn't the company he wants most.]


b. (SS Vanquish, kitchen)

[You'd think this was a candy shop with how happy Kaworu looks to be getting food. First, in a cup, he mixes a little of every kind of drink the ship offers. Then, worse still, he can be caught mixing every type of protein. Each gel, paste, and solid is getting smeared together. Kaworu takes a spoonful of some of the mess, declares it Delicious out loud, and then adds a little more of something else. Soon, his plate is a hideous pile of mush, and Kaworu's loving every second of it. If you're near him, he'll eagerly ask,] Want to try it?


c. (SS Heron, hallway)

[Heron, this boy isn't one of yours. He's an intruder who's almost certainly going to overstay his welcome. He's at least dressed a little more normally by the time he first visits the Heron, having traded his plugsuit for a charcoal utility jumper... But any ounce of normalcy he's managed is probably offset by the fact that he's carrying armfuls of bedding around the ship. It looks like he's stripped a bunk and has just taken off with the linens and pillow. (He has.)

If he comes across any of the Heron's actual crew, he stops in his tracks and asks,] Excuse me; where are your sleeping quarters?

[ There is very little that is more off-putting than finding knowledge in your mind that you know you shouldn't have. He knows what guns are, knows how to work them, even though he's never held anything like it in his life. Swords and shields are his forte, not - explodey death sticks! Besides, he doesn't want to hurt people. Sure, he's good at fighting, used to defending himself and others from attacks, has taken down more than his fair share of darkspawn, slavers and brigands. But he'd rather make friends than... shoot people.

Alistair can be found - just about anywhere on the ship, really. He's exploring a bit, poking around, but not touching much because he'd rather not start a fire or anything with his incompetence. ]

[She's just gotten used to the Marsiva by the time that she's swapped over. She'd been expecting it from the network, sure, but it's still not a pleasant surprise.]

[At least the cargo hold has some equipment to take her annoyance out on. Asuka stares at the punching bag as if it's done her grievous harm, pummeling it over and over with her fists and even kicking it a few times. Any onlooker can tell she's mostly untrained-- and any onlooker can also tell that she's well on her way to destroying the punching bag, if not stopped soon. Mid-kick, she pauses, distinctly caught look appearing on her face before her face falls into its normal sour lines.]

What? I'm supposed to be here, aren't I?

[Asuka's wandering has landed her in the bathroom, peering in at every fixture as if it's out to do her personal wrong, trying to get a feel for the whole area, the kind of crew she's ended up alongside. Or with. Whatever. The bathtub catches her eye on automatic-- she hasn't taken a real bath in years, just quick showers on board the Wunder, as if she could really ever wash the smell of blood off her skin. She turns on the faucet, slightly impressed when hot water rushes out, and even more impressed at the jacuzzi function. It's a waste, of course, but it's at least a decent waste. However much she's tried to discard it, there's a part of her that still yearns to be spoiled.]

[She hasn't made a move to strip down yet, content just leaning over and running the water over a gloved hand as she fills up the tub. She turns it off when it's half-full, exits the room, and starts digging around, tone a little less aggravated than normal--]

Are there bath salts in this place?

[Come hell or high water, Asuka's managed to find her way off the Red Fish and onto the Heron. [Her nerves aren't shot by any means, but they are rattled. A cursory inspection, particularly of the kitchen, tells her this ship's about as well-outfitted than her own. That's good. The first person she sees, and more than likely the second, third, and so on, as she scuttles about various areas, get a few barked words and the meanest glare that one eye can give.]

[Shinji is by no means a germophobe, but he hasn't taken off his plugsuit, either. He doesn't trust the touch of anything (or anyone, virtually) aboard his assigned ship. Besides which, a plugsuit is a steadying part of his identity. He's nothing if not an Eva pilot, even though piloting is the worst thing to ever happen to him.

Naturally, the plugsuit does little to defend against Asuka's glare. He's already on edge, too-reminded of his short stay with WILLE. Just the sight of Asuka has him freezing in place, in the middle of the hallway. He looks like he's been through the wringer and then some. Near-white skin, bloodshot eyes, hastily dampened hair...

If he made any progress aboard the Marsiva, it's rapidly unraveling here and now. He's at least self-aware enough to brace himself on the wall.] Asuka...

[ Dean'll be exploring. Especially if anywhere's locked, he'll be breaking in to check things. Cockpit? He'll be there, poking around where he shouldn't, looking impressed. He'll be finding wherever security's keeping the guns and claim at least one for himself (and checking out the lack of ammunition, figuring out how to dismantle and reassemble it quick), and he'll be making ugly faces at what constitutes as food in the kitchen. ]

Guess they weren't kidding.

[ He's prepared for most of this, except the bed thing. He'll also be avoiding windows out into space, looking sick and popping some pills when he happens to glance at any. As soon as he's settled and has somewhere to take a shower (they have showers in space, right?) and get cleaned up, he'll be heading out to the space station. Because it's the closest thing to being on the ground this place has got, and he's all but running for it. ]

[Oh he is so not a fan of the confetti. Who the hell thinks it's fun to get little pieces of paper tossed in their hair and on their clothes? And every time he thinks he's wiped the last one off his sweater, he inevitably catches sight of another one out of the corner of his eyes. And he just hopes it's all out of his hair until he can find a mirror and confirm.

Yeah. He's not real happy with his circumstances, and it only gets worse when he finds the bunks, and that they all look occupied. Or the lockers. With...jumpers? Seriously? Or the bathrooms that remind him of something from high school gym lockers.

And by the time he gets to the kitchen and scopes out what they have there, he's just so done. He finds himself a seat and just chews on his knuckles and kind of zones out in an attempt to keep his cool.]

[Okay. So, for as many years as he's been claiming to be a cruise ship captain, this is actually the first time he's had to pretend to be one on a ship, so it just makes sense to go check out the navigation area, right? See if he can identify flickering lights and toggles and gauges or whatever crap spaceships have on them.

So that's where he goes, wanders in like he belongs there, because he doesn't know how to act differently, and immediately he knows what he's looking at. It's bizarre to suddenly know things he's never even laid his eyes on before, and for the first time it settles on him that maybe he's been more than just kidnapped.] Great. Now I feel kind of violated.

[But, that's not going to stop him from exploring the dashboard, especially now that he can read it.]

[ as he wanders, he just might come across a well-poised brunette as she toggles one switch after another on the communications panels. quiet little routine checks, because she finds that a schedule keeps her calm. focused.

but she hears his footsteps before he steps onto the bridge. peggy glances over her shoulder, expecting perhaps to see another regular crew member. instead, she sees him. a strange face. hmm. ]

You must be the fresh meat. [ she rises from her chair and approaches him. silk blouse and pencil skirt, she looks as though she just stepped out of a 1940s office building instead of a spaceship. and, in many ways, that's precisely what's happened to her.

[She was growing steadily more frustrated the longer she was stuck here, but once she finds herself placed on a ship - SS Caprine it was called - there isn't any sense searching for Drogon anymore. It was obvious wherever they kept him it was far, far away from her - if they even had him at all. She had been given a Communications Augment - whatever good that did for her - and had immediately gone to make herself aware of the place where she would need to be.

Daenerys explores the ship, finding that many of the lodgings were already full up. The only place she can think to go is one of the common areas - the kitchen. She was still taking in things but the one thing that seemed most familiar was the god awful looking food. If anyone wanted to happen upon her, Dany would be making her way from the kitchens with a small plate of food, hoping to find an empty bedchamber of some sort.]

Need something? [ He's fiddling with some mechanical part in the ship again, tweaking it to stop it rattling around, but he notes that this isn't a face he's seen before. She must be new. ]

1. Arrival

[ It's with a scowl that Theon shakes the confetti out of his hair, leaving himself looking just as disheveled as he feels. He's already suffered through the worst of his existential crisis, but it's still so much to take in and it isn't as if he doesn't already have a lot to think about.

The cheerful atmosphere that greets him when he's teleported to the bridge does nothing but grate on his already raw nerves. Rather than letting his anxiety over the entire situation show, he clenches his teeth tightly, squares his shoulders, and pushes by anyone who might be in his immediate line of sight. ]

Get out of my way.

2. Exploring the ship

[ Theon is quick to make himself at home, rummaging through drawers and cabinets and opening any door that will yield to him. His head is spinning and he doesn't feel fully comfortable in this new environment, but he's intrigued. Neither Winterfell nor Pyke looked anything like this ship does.

Later, he can be found gazing through one of the windows, peering out into the endless field of stars. He has some thoughts that aren't terrible ideas. Sometimes. ]

( The medical bay is where Lydia spends most of the day. It's her augment - her role on the ship. If she hadn't been to Asgard, spent all of that time in the clinic, Lydia might have questioned it. Being smart is one thing but healing?

She takes her time familiarising herself with what's in the room - the supplies, the equipment. Lydia wants to know where everything is just in case she needs it - and she makes a note to ask what happened to the last medic.

When Lydia isn't in medical she can be found in the hallways, making her way over the ship. She needs to know the ship too - to know where everything is, and her room. The kitchen is somewhere she stops to eat, gathering her thoughts on what's happened over the past few days as she does. It's not all quite sunk in yet, but it's less confusing than when Lydia arrived )

( It had taken a few days for Lydia's head to clear - for that niggling feeling in the back of her mind to be known as to exactly what it was. Memories. That's what it had been. Memories not of home but somewhere that she'd forgotten - though why did she remember now?

It's later in the day when Lydia asks her question, back in her room after gathering her bearings aboard the Huntress. So far so good there, at least )

Has anyone been somewhere else? Not visiting another country but- a world.

( There'd been a familiarity to some people when Lydia had spoken to them, and a feeling that some other kidnapping had occurred. Now it all made sense to her - it seemed so simple )

I didn't remember it when I first woke up here but I remember it now. Asgard. The gods, the war. Just not how it ended.

[Ray had been waiting until it wasn't appropriate hours to be eating to go to the kitchen. She wasn't too keen on being around people right now - especially since she still wasn't sure what the hell was going on.

Robots running the cafeteria was really weird though. Not sure she wanted to ask for something more complicated than a sandwich, Ray takes her pb&j quietly and without any complaint. Externally at least.]
