[The bunks are filling up, but the new faces just keep appearing!

Are you a travel-weary passenger having trouble keeping your crew roster straight? Perhaps you are a fresh new recruit, finding themselves dumped into a new (and much less shiny) home. Or, maybe you've been around for a little bit and just haven't bothered meeting the other weirdos on this ship yet--what is their problem, anyway?

Well, this is the place for you!

All new passengers from the last few Shuffles, especially those who haven't met their crews yet, are welcome to post starter-comments here to invite those living on and visiting your ship to come and interact. Newbies could be just arriving on the ship, busying around where others can find them, or you can offering multiple options for interaction--however you'd like to set up your thread is fine. Just make sure to include the name of your ship in the header, so your crewmates can easily find you!

Oh, the whole "appear on a ship just as abruptly as you arrived on the first one" part? Yeah, it happens about once a week. We've had a lot of new arrivals lately.

[The droid busily putters as they talk, cleaning up every last bit of confetti before moving over to a trash can to empty itself out.]

I'm Castle, and the little 'bot is Cameron.

That's the bit. [She's taking him in now and realizing he looks familiar.] I'm Kitty.

Castle, huh? Not Mal? [Wouldn't be her first time meeting someone who looked just like someone else but wasn't.]

[Castle shook his head.]

Not the first time I've been mistaken for someone by that name, funnily enough. We must look nearly-identical. One of the doctors onboard looked at me like he'd seen a ghost first time we met in person.

Well, on the plus side I didn't actually know him very well. You can be my new favorite person with that face. [Little smirk.] He was a captain though. Is that what you are here?

[Castle had to laugh aloud at that.] Nah, I'm just the janitor. My augment's what gave me the cleaning bots. Our captain's named Natasha.

Oh. Remind me to never complain about my augment again. [She's probably going to complain about the augment again, just not about the chosen content.]

Eh, it's not too terrible- being a maintenance guy gave me a whole new, useful skillset.

Fair enough. [The guy's got a good attitude. She'll give him that.] What was your last skillset? Back home.

I'm a mystery writer. So I can see why they wanted to give me something actually useful here.

Mystery writer? You know you don't come across that much in places like this. [There were people without powers, but a lot of times it seemed like they fell under student, soldier, or princess.]

Think you'll switch to sci-fi after this?

Yeah, makes me wonder why they bothered going through the effort of bringing me here. Maybe because I'm famous and used to the spotlight or something, so I'm a bit more willing to pander to the audience.

Famous, huh?

Do you? I mean, pander to the audience. [She hadn't really considered that anyone would be doing that even if it comes with rewards.]

I do try to be entertaining, yes. Like, deliberately do lovable things like treat my cleaning bots as though they were pets.

[She looks amused, so apparently it's successful.] How's that working out for you?

Pretty well, I think. For some reason, people love the almighty janitor. Might be my looks have something to do with it, too.

You know if you have to point them out... [Smirking.]
