Are you a travel-weary passenger having trouble keeping your crew roster straight? Perhaps you are a fresh new recruit, finding themselves dumped into a new (and much less shiny) home. Or, maybe you've been around for a little bit and just haven't bothered meeting the other weirdos on this ship yet--what is their problem, anyway?

Well, this is the place for you!

All new passengers from the last few Shuffles, especially those who haven't met their crews yet, are welcome to post starter-comments here to invite those living on and visiting your ship to come and interact. Newbies could be just arriving on the ship, busying around where others can find them, or you can offering multiple options for interaction--however you'd like to set up your thread is fine. Just make sure to include the name of your ship in the header, so your crewmates can easily find you!

Everyone else-- go meet those newbies! Whether they are new to your own crew, or on ships you frequently visit, now is a great time to bump into them.]

--The phone can laugh too?! [ That's what makes the most sense to Sasha in this case even with the odd, abrupt addition of another's scent in the room. It doesn't feel like anyone else is there, so who even really knows??

Regardless, Sascha's going to take advantage of Dezel dropping the phone to quickly snatch it up...and promptly blind himself trying to look at the screen. ] Ugh...dangit. Ouch.

[ He really needs to stop forgetting how his eyes work. ]

[Nope, still not very smart. So of course Dezel... steals the communicator back. This time it disappears properly, becoming 'part' of him like his clothes.

That was abrupt. At least Sascha still has the one in his pocket.]

[pneumo]

[ That would be of consolation if he didn't literally just see something vanish in front of him two seconds ago. Now Sascha's just staring, trying to figure out if he's going crazy or what here.

Dezel is the world's meanest ghost. ]

[Sascha still hasn't left the room, and Dezel's patience is growing fairly thin. Not that he had much in the first place, but still.

He looks around for something to interact with. The closest thing is the locker, so he opens it... slowly... and deliberately, right where Sascha can see it.

And then wiggles it to make it squeak a few times.]

[pneumo]

[ It'd probably have been easier to just send him a text telling him to leave rather than expecting a few ghostly tricks to scare him off. Sascha can't recall ever being scared of anything, let alone a moving locker door. If anything it just has him staring, brow slowly knitting together in complete confusion. ]

No. [ You stop that, right now. ]

[That's a great idea. He'd do it if he had Sascha's number.

He's still working on the communicator thing. Sascha can't hear him, but he's talking to himself and trying to... record it... and then make it, uh, audible.

It works after a few minutes. Thank god.]

Hey. I think I can talk to you through your communicator... if you can figure that out.

[pneumo]

Whoa! [ Oh lovely, a disembodied voice just suddenly appearing out of nowhere. That granted is a little more terrifying than the dor, and it gets Sascha turning around once or twice before he stops. ]

Communicator?? Who's there??

[ --Oh my god what if this an actual real haunting?? ]

[Dezel groans. There's another delay before his voice comes through again.]

Dezel. Check your pocket.

[Just in case Sascha feels the need to try to steal his comm again.]

[pneumo]

My pocke...oh. haha, the phone. Right! [ Oh, he's so silly. The ghost meant his phone.

Sascha takes it out and flips it open, wondering...well, what he's supposed to do after that. ]

...Do you want my number?

[The response comes a little quicker, though it still sounds tinny, as it's being replayed through small speakers.]

Yeah.

[Finally, we're getting somewhere.]

[pneumo]

Whoa, haha...I didn't think that would actually work. Gimme a sec... [ let him waffle through a few menus here to pull up the one that displays his contact information, and then hold it up once he's done. ]

How's that?

[A stilted, awkward pause. Dezel just stares. How lazy is this kid. Oh my god.]

You have to read it to me.

[Now he looks like the lazy one. Whatever, he doesn't care about what humans think of him.]

[pneumo]

You blind or something? I thought ghosts could see... [ Or at least read. What's a ghost going to do with his number if it can't even read it??

Not that he sound particularly judgmental when he asks. He's genuinely confused by it, even if he does start reading it off properly a moment later. ]

[Dezel doesn't answer him, at least immediately. That offhanded remark is honestly enough to set most people off. However, Dezel is frustrated not at his lack of sight but because this guy's a pure fucking moron.

Ring ring, pick up. Hopefully Sascha won't ignore it. If he does, Dezel might actually throw the bed at him.]

[pneumo]

[ Don't worry, he picks up! Sascha's a little confused that he doesn't get a reply first, but hey! Maybe ghost-chan wants to talk in...people? Ish? However ghosts who use cellphone do it. ]

[Same voice as before, but instantaneous. This is much easier.]

Seraphim can't be heard or seen by most people. So if you want to talk to me, you're going to have to use this.

[ And not so sped up or funny-sounding! Sascha understands it a lot better. ]

Seraffim...? That's what you are? [ he asks this, but it's obvious he doesn't really know what they are. ]

They're a kind of spirit.

I'm Sascha♥ What about you, Mr. Spirit? Or do I just call you that? I've never actually met one before...or talked to them on the phone.

Dezel. I said earlier. [Of course, Sascha is dumb and probably didn't catch it. lol] You don't have anything in the way of resonance, so that's not a surprise.

Just don't get in my way and we won't have any problems.

[pneumo]

Dezel, got it. But what exactly do you mean by in your way...?

Ghosts can walk through things. [ So technically nothing should be in Dezel's way, right? ]

I'm not a ghost. [He isn't the best one to explain this and his terse tone doesn't help.] I'm alive. Just invisible.

[Dezel actually loses his cool here, his voice turning into a growl. It's... not as intimidating as you'd think.]
