Chocolate-flavored Dessert Cream on the House
[The bunks are filling up, but the new faces just keep appearing!
Are you a travel-weary passenger having trouble keeping your crew roster straight? Perhaps you are a fresh new recruit, finding themselves dumped into a new (and much less shiny) home. Or, maybe you've been around for a little bit and just haven't bothered meeting the other weirdos on this ship yet--what is their problem, anyway?
Well, this is the place for you!
All new passengers from the last few Shuffles, especially those who haven't met their crews yet, are welcome to post starter-comments here to invite those living on and visiting your ship to come and interact. Newbies could be just arriving on the ship, busying around where others can find them, or you can offering multiple options for interaction--however you'd like to set up your thread is fine. Just make sure to include the name of your ship in the header, so your crewmates can easily find you!
Everyone else-- go meet those newbies! Whether they are new to your own crew, or on ships you frequently visit, now is a great time to bump into them.]

Dezel | SS Golden | broadcast AND action!!!!! IM A REBEL!!!
[There's a poof of confetti and a celebratory pudding, but there's no new crew member. Unless... you can see him, that is. He staggers but catches himself, and then smoothly tucks the brim of his hat over his eyes.
This is the furthest he's been from Rose or Sorey in a Very Long Time. He can feel the malevolence growing unchecked, a constant nagging nausea, which he acknowledges and then ignores. It's... time to find out who can see him.
If people miss him on the bridge, they can catch him stalking people down the hallway to see if they notice, or hanging out against the wall with his arms crossed. Barring that, he's curious enough to explore the rest of the ship, even crewmate's rooms. The jacket you left on the floor? Possibly being thrown over to your bed. That little ostrich bobblehead you got off some planet months back? Definitely floating off your shelf.]
[video;]
[The camera shows a big ... empty... hallway. And the angle is wrong. In fact, the whole fucking thing is upside down.
But someone is talking! Remember Snoop Dogg narrating Plizzanet Earth? It's like that, but deadpan. And not funny. Okay so it's not like that at all.]
Is this piece of junk working?
[An impatient, frustrated sigh.]
Pointless. All this "information" they put into our heads isn't worth beans.
[ooc: Please remember to fill out Dezel's permissions for face to face interaction! He will always be audible over the network but invisible on camera. Thank you!]
SPOILERS AHOY - voice
So he reclines onto Mikleo's bed and starts poking around in his communicator, listening to the new voices, looking for anything interesting.
He sits up with a start. ...that voice, it can't-]
Mikleo, [Sorey says urgently, pulling his feet in and clutching the communicator in his hands as he tries not to tremble.] ...Dezel?
no subject
That's not...
[It's not possible, he thinks, but they both know Dezel's voice. He'd shared a space within Sorey with the wind spirit, Sorey's connected with him countless times using the armatus, how could they not know it? But they'd also seen why such a thing was impossible.
He leans in, staring intently at the communicator, although he doesn't expect Dezel to show up any better than he himself would. But the voice...]
no subject
But here we go, that's definitely two people he knows very well. His fingers tighten around the communicator enough that he presses a few buttons by accident.]
You-- you two had better not be dead. [He tries to keep his voice even and only halfway succeeds. It's already turning into a growl by the time he finishes...] After all of that, I'd better not hear that you, of all people, just gave up!
no subject
Despite the depth of his heart Sorey isn't easily moved to tears, but he finds himself bowing forward and pressing the communicator to his forehead as his eyes sting. There's too much- How can this- Where could he-]
We didn't, [Sorey manages. He's vaguely aware of Mikleo at his side and he leans imperceptibly closer to him, offering strength just as much as he asks for it.
Dezel remembers. This isn't a reincarnation scenario, if those even happen between seraph lifetimes. It's him. Sorey's shoulders tremble.]
Dezel I swear we didn't, Rose told us and we moved forward. You have my word. [That had been the hardest, the most cruel. Moving forward when Rose had shed tears fkr Dezel's sake, when the other seraphim fell silent at the lack of a familiar voice with theirs, a presence missing at their sides. For weeks, all Sorey had wanted to do was lay down and sleep and search for his missing seraph in the space between dreams.]
no subject
They'd all handled the aftermath of Dezel's end differently, but Sorey and Rose had felt it most. As relieved as he is to hear the wind seraph alive and well again - somehow, inexplicably - he can't help feeling cautious and protective. What if this is some sort of trick...? What if this is an empty illusion from their captors, like Symonne toying with them, and all they'll get out of it is a repeat of this pain? He doesn't want Sorey to hurt like that again. He's worrying about enough already.
...but...]
What Sorey says is true... we followed your wishes. There's no way we could give up after what you did.
[Trick or not- he's not about to throw away the chance to speak. Not when- maybe-]
no subject
Dezel's grip relaxes just enough that he's no longer threatening to break the damn communicator in half. He remembers how to breathe again and the wind continues telling him that he is not dead, that he is in fact very much alive, and that everyone else on this ship is too. So he was freaking out over nothing.]
... Thank you. [A pause, and the camera angle changes so that it shows... the same room, just slightly lower. He's sitting down in the middle of the hall like a jackass. But whatever, no one's around at this very moment so he-- he needs a moment. It's not like he says 'thank you' a lot either.]
-- Rose...
[He can't feel her anywhere.]
no subject
But that's not enough to answer it, and through the movement Sorey can tell Dezel is holding the comm. The camera isn't picking him up and Sorey wants- needs to see him. Confirm this isn't a trick, that he's alive and okay.
Sorey glances at Mikleo and sets a hand on his shoulder as he pushes himself to the edge of the bed and grabs his boots.]
Do you know the name of the ship you're on? We'll come to you, bring you up to speed. [See him. Match what he hears and feels in his heart with what he sees.]
no subject
The Golden.
[They look nothing like boats. It's kind of offensive.]

action
The one thing he always does before entering though is disable the lighting; that makes it much easier for him to see considering his eyes are permanently dilated, reflecting a goldish light as he sighs and hunkers down on someone else's bed for a moment. ]
This is gonna be tough...
[ He's mostly muttering to himself. Thinking aloud, if you will. Sascha hasn't been stuck in close quarters with humans since he first woke up. It's...well. Weird. ]
no subject
The fact he turned out the lights doesn't bother Dezel at all. Sascha will feel like he's being watched, and there might be the near-imperceptible feeling of a draft moving across his face. It carries with it the faint scent of something, but there's no one in here with him.
Or is there?]
no subject
It's probably the space air. [ That totally explains the weird drafts and the feel of being watched. Space air. ]
no subject
[Or... whatever the hell Sascha is. He can't... actually tell? He looks human, but there's no malevolence he can detect-- or if there is, it's buried very deeply. And yet being around him still makes Dezel want to throw up.
Maybe it's just how this place is.]
No resonance, just like everyone else. I wonder what the point is. [He examines the object he came here with, the communicator in his pocket. Not that he can see it, but it's nice to run his fingers over it. He wonders if he can do something with it. At the very least, he can inform this 'human' that someone else is there.
He concentrates for a moment, taking his mana out of it so it's visible to people without resonance, and then makes a show of dropping it on the floor.
THUNK.
There is definitely the smell of leather, stronger now, as Dezel is nearer.]
1/2
Oh... It's just the phone. [ Technically not since it does a lot more than just phone things, but that's what he's calling it as he leans over to reach out and gather the thing up.
Did his communicator somehow fall out of his pocket, he wonders? He's sure he would have felt it if it did... ]
no subject
Huh...?
no subject
[It's kind of cheating, but he doesn't really care. He just... reaches out... and grabs the communicator right out of his hand. To him, it might seem like a gust just tore through the room and stole it.]
no subject
--????? Hey! [ Actually, what he assumes is that the communicator secretly have some sort of weird hover function, and he's standing to try and go after it as it yanks itself out of his hand. ] Phone!
no subject
Something keeps dangling it just out of his reach. How frustrating.]

video;
At the sound of the voice and the obvious location on her ship, she speaks up. ]
And which knowledge were you given?
video;
After a moment, he bites.]
Basic knowledge. I'm in space, this is a communicator, over there is a compartment that leads to another room on the ship, there is a captain and various officers.
-- Can you see me?
video;
[ That's a weird question to ask - she assumes he's simply off to the side somewhere. ]
I'm wondering what augment you were given. It helps to know. I'm Hera, and I'm the pilot here.
video;
Tactical. My name's Dezel.
[He probably ought to be up front about this...]
If you didn't notice me when I came aboard, you probably can't see me at all.
video;
[ She takes it all in stride, though. ]
Is it just that you're... very small, or are you actually invisible?
video;
I'll watch myself.
[Her question earns a snort.]
Only people with resonance can see me. If they're not sensitive, I'm invisible.
video;
[ She handles this with equanimity. She's not Force-sensitive, either, and it's never bothered her. ]
Anything else I should know about you?
