[The bunks are filling up, but the new faces just keep appearing!

Are you a travel-weary passenger having trouble keeping your crew roster straight? Perhaps you are a fresh new recruit, finding themselves dumped into a new (and much less shiny) home. Or, maybe you've been around for a little bit and just haven't bothered meeting the other weirdos on this ship yet--what is their problem, anyway?

Well, this is the place for you!

All new passengers from the last few Shuffles, especially those who haven't met their crews yet, are welcome to post starter-comments here to invite those living on and visiting your ship to come and interact. Newbies could be just arriving on the ship, busying around where others can find them, or you can offering multiple options for interaction--however you'd like to set up your thread is fine. Just make sure to include the name of your ship in the header, so your crewmates can easily find you!

[She was growing steadily more frustrated the longer she was stuck here, but once she finds herself placed on a ship - SS Caprine it was called - there isn't any sense searching for Drogon anymore. It was obvious wherever they kept him it was far, far away from her - if they even had him at all. She had been given a Communications Augment - whatever good that did for her - and had immediately gone to make herself aware of the place where she would need to be.

Daenerys explores the ship, finding that many of the lodgings were already full up. The only place she can think to go is one of the common areas - the kitchen. She was still taking in things but the one thing that seemed most familiar was the god awful looking food. If anyone wanted to happen upon her, Dany would be making her way from the kitchens with a small plate of food, hoping to find an empty bedchamber of some sort.]

Need something? [ He's fiddling with some mechanical part in the ship again, tweaking it to stop it rattling around, but he notes that this isn't a face he's seen before. She must be new. ]

[She didn't know how to avoid being suspicious of everyone and she was still not used to the complicated technologies but this was a start. She had a communication augment but it neglected to give her understanding of the mechanical parts in the ship. Watching him tinker with it was fascinating.]

Is this how you make it fly? With all those little parts and pieces?

[Curious, she reaches forward to touch one of them, regardless of if it's wise to do so or not.]

This? Nah.

[ He's not working on live wires, so he gives that a pass. He doesn't like people invading his personal space bubble, though, so he moves so he can work without interference. ] For flying, you want the engine room. This stuff is just quality of life. Makes things more comfortable for humans like you.

[ Not that he's unduly concerned with quality of life, but he feels bound to address any problems as soon as he notices them. With how small this ship is and how sensitive he is to sounds that are out of the ordinary, he's able to tinker contentedly quite easily to keep everything running smoothly.

He carefully replaces a worn-looking piece of machinery with a new one. The sound had been bothering him for weeks, so he's glad they docked so he can finally replace it. ]

I see. You are not human?

[Well, this was interesting. She felt like she was learning so much today! Though how much of it was useful information remained to be seen. She watches him work, replacing worn pieces for newer ones. It was strange but she wanted to know more if she could about the technology of this place. She'd never seen anything like it.]

Nope. [ I mean, he looks like this, after all. Most people tend to go "holy shit what are you" at his appearance.

He checks around to see that there's nothing more to do, and then starts closing up the panel. ] Are you?

[ It's worth asking, anyway. ]

[True!! But for all she knows it was just a funny outfit and it's definitely not her place to ask questions about that sort of thing. In Essos people dye their hair bright colors and paint their skin.]

I am, last I was aware. I hope I didn't give offense.

[She isn't sure how to address him. He's not a knight nor is he a lord. What do.]

You'd have to try pretty hard to offend me. You don't need to be formal. [ He just waves a hand. He's not really going to make any effort to be formal either, now that he's more comfortable. ]

Hope you like gel, by the way. That'll be most of your diet.

Formal is how I was brought up, I'm afraid. I was raised to be a Queen.

[And take back her home from those who had stolen it from her. Originally that had been for Viserys' sake but now it was for her own.]

[The ship just keeps changing, doesn't it? Qing himself spots the blonde on his way to the kitchens (he has his own room for now, but it's always quieter there somehow) with a book in one hand.

His head tilts up as he looks her over - mostly, he looks up at everyone, being all of five feet tall - and his smile is soft, without any sort of critical edge.]

Ah... you're another newcomer to the ship, aren't you? Are you settling in alright?

I hope it isn't too obvious.

[Considering she's wearing clothes from home (until she has to wear the awful ship garments) Dany shouldn't be surprised she sticks out.]

I am well, thank you.

[And trying to find her place on this flying metal vessel, as it was.]

It isn't uncomfortably so, but I think Mal was the only lady on the ship previously.

[He laughs and lowers his book fully, and even now is still clad in his usual dress (he would rather wash the dress every other day than be stuck in said awful ship garments, all told).]

More, our ship is pretty small and it's changed a lot in the couple of months I've been here. It's pretty confusing at first, figuring everything out.

Um... I'm Qing-Yuan. Qing is fine if that's easier, though.

I'm not unaccustomed to being surrounded by men, or living in uncomfortably cramped spaces. Though I do miss the open air and dirt under my feet at times.

[She smiles, tilting her head a bit to try and get a look at the book in his hand.]

It's a pleasure to meet you. I am Daenerys.

[And with introductions out of the way, she has to ask.]

I find myself curious about your book, Qing.

The good thing about that is at least there's some dirt to be found. There's a garden on the Iskaulit.

[Oh. He glances down at it again, then turns it upward, so that the title is visible.]

It's a medical textbook. I know most of the details about the human body by now, but it doesn't ever hurt to review, especially as the ship's doctor.

You're the ship's maester? But you're.... so young.

[Excuse her surprise Qing. She doesn't mean to offend, honest! Where she's from maesters study for years and years.]

[Laughing a bit, he shakes his head. In fairness, he wouldn't have chosen it for himself, either.]

Well, despite how I look, I am twenty-one... but that's not really why I was chosen, I think. As I understand it, one of the ships' doctors is seven. It's something chosen when we arrive, based on these... implants, I suppose.

[He reaches back and runs his fingers along the small piece of material, a feeling that's become oddly familiar in these last months.]

Ah, yes. That does make sense then.

[However, it's a surprise that this one is actually older than she! She's only a girl of 18 or so.]

I apologize for mistaking you.

[She won't say that she thought he was a child at first, or perhaps it was just by the fact that he had such youthful energy around him or something of that sort.]

You don't need to apologise, by any means. I'm used to being presumed a girl, and about twelve years old at that.

[It's okay, Dany. He's very aware of his appearance.]
