Chocolate-flavored Dessert Cream on the House

[The bunks are filling up, but the new faces just keep appearing!

Are you a travel-weary passenger having trouble keeping your crew roster straight? Perhaps you are a fresh new recruit, finding themselves dumped into a new (and much less shiny) home. Or, maybe you've been around for a little bit and just haven't bothered meeting the other weirdos on this ship yet--what is their problem, anyway?

Well, this is the place for you!

All new passengers from the last few Shuffles, especially those who haven't met their crews yet, are welcome to post starter-comments here to invite those living on and visiting your ship to come and interact. Newbies could be just arriving on the ship, busying around where others can find them, or you can offering multiple options for interaction--however you'd like to set up your thread is fine. Just make sure to include the name of your ship in the header, so your crewmates can easily find you!

Everyone else-- go meet those newbies! Whether they are new to your own crew, or on ships you frequently visit, now is a great time to bump into them.]

I've had some practice with those parts, actually. Not exactly like this, but close enough to reframe my entire understanding of "odd."

Salt? [There's a hesitation on her end.] It makes a good enough condiment - or maybe seasoning, I'm not sure of which - but probably not that great of a planet. What do you even do on a planet of salt?

Salt. They had salted food, salted drinks, salt sculptures... [Even if Celeste can't see it, Leia's definitely rolling her eyes.] And not a single star chart for miles.

It wasn't the most riveting place. There were temples to see--and it was covered in snow. That's about it.

Snow and salt? I can't imagine how you managed to tell one thing from the other with all that white.

But at least I know I haven't missed anything of great importance. Thank you... oh lord, I will chat away on these things without even the most basic manners. I'm Celeste, by the way, Celeste Blackwell.

Sometimes you didn't. [With all that white, Leia blended right in.]

Nice to meet you, Celeste. I'm Leia Organa.

Well, thank you, Leia, and it's a pleasure to meet you as well. As much as this can be said to be meeting, but between a similar system where I was last and the Internet back home, I'm quite used to it.

Which ship have they put on you here? We could well be crewmates, for all I know.

It's close to a holo, and I think that counts for meeting. I'll know you if I hear you, anyway.

I started on the Windrose, but I transferred to the Bishop recently. What about you?

A holo... is that what you call a phone? Or - no, it probably derives from "holographic," doesn't it? So some sort of visual communication?

Oh, I didn't know you could transfer. I quite like my ship so far, but I'll have to remember that. I'm on the Golden, and the people here are... remarkably kind. There's a woman named Hera, if you've met her, who's been a sort of lifesaver for me since the day I was shuffled.

Hologram, actually. They're most similar to the video function here in the fleet.

I do know her, actually--she and I have worked together in the past. [Excellent choice of namedrop.] There are some forms to fill out, but otherwise, it's remarkably easy.
