Hey. [New Flooters, meet your resident weird-looking alien girl.] If you haven't met me yet, my name's Ahsoka Tano.

Starting tomorrow morning at 0700, I'm going to be holding regular guided meditation sessions in the Prayer Room for anyone who wants to learn. Lessons are free of charge and you don't need to know me or ask to come along. I'll be there every morning, so anyone can come as they please. [She figures that might help the anonymous person she promised to teach as well. They don't have to reveal who they are to her if they don't want to.]

I know it's early, but I thought early would be best so that those of you who have to go to work in the morning can make it. Plus, then you can start the day off on a high note! Meditation is a great way to help manage anxiety and stress. It's also proven to improve concentration and clarity of mind.

... In the evenings at 1800, I'll be holding some easy self defense classes in the Iskaulit gym, every Tuesday and Thursday. It's just basic stuff, like how to get away from different kinds of attackers. Don't worry if you think you're too small or not fit enough or whatever. There's a way for everyone.

It is a beginners class, but if you're experienced and want to help out, I'd appreciate any volunteers to partner up with people! Otherwise I'm going to be taking a lot of punches on my own, haha.

[If you simply want to show up to one of Ahsoka's classes, just go ahead. She'll be where she said she'd be! You don't have to show up to the first class, you can handwave going any day of the week. Turn up to a full class, an empty class, it's up to you.

How'd you manage that one?

I'm a mutant, so I was born genetically different. The power didn't kick in until puberty though. [More curious to see if it rings any bells than anything.]

A mutant...?

You know Kurt from back home?

[She can't say she's ever heard of Togruta but she assumes it's a race from another planet.]

I know a Kurt from back home who is older and musclier and has a facial tattoo and carries swords everywhere. [And who once teleported a guy's finger off because it's not polite to point.] This one knows one of me too.

[Ahsoka blinks rapidly for a second. She's... having trouble picturing that.]

... Huh.

Time shenanigans, or... parallel universe? [What has the world come to, when she can ask that question in all seriousness?]

Paral...actually both. He shouldn't be close to the same age as his Kitty. [She's used to weird, but how does that even track?]

Huh. Weird. Maybe one of you was born at a different time?

I guess. [Seems like you'd need the right combination of things at the right time to make the same person though. She shrugs. Probably not worth the effort of trying to sort it out when there's probably no way to get the answer from here.] So how do you know him?

[Simply:] We're friends.

He was one of the first people I met here who wasn't human. Or-- didn't look like a human, anyway. I'm still a little confused about how the whole human-mutant thing works.

It was kinda weird being here for the first month. There weren't exactly many non-humans around, so it was nice to know someone else who looked a bit different.

It's a little confusing and some of us can pass for human. [Waves hand.] Obviously.

Anyone give you a hard time about it?

Not really. I've had a few stares and the odd question about my horns, but-- that's to be expected. Nothing approaching a hard time.

[She nods. Good.] Places that aren't where I grew up tend to be a lot more accepting apparently.

Right. I feel like Kurt mentioned that. There's some tensions between you guys and the other humans on your planet?

I think his world has tension. My world has war or something uglier than that.

... Oh. I'm... sorry to hear it.

[So much war, everywhere. Some days it feels like Ahsoka will never escape it.]

Mm, it's not great material to lead with when meeting someone. I should probably think of something else. Kind of hard to comment on the weather in space.

What's your world like? I can try to make that question more vague and open ended if it helps.

[Ahsoka just chuckles.]

That question's already broad enough. For starters, do you mean the planet native to my people? Or the planet I grew up on? Or... my galaxy?

They're three very different answers.

Well... the galaxy is a little too large to be summed up easily. But Coruscant's where I grew up. It's... well. You either love it or you hate it. It's the center of the galaxy, literally and metaphorically, so it's always busy and awake. Of course, the population density is so high the lower levels don't really get any sunlight, and the pollution is insane.

But... it's beautiful in it's own way, too. And the Jedi Temple is there. So... I can't dislike it.

Jedi, huh? [She recognizes that word.] Do you do force things? [That's totally how you word that, right?]

[Ahsoka resists the urge to laugh. Barely.]

That's not quite how it works.

I don't know that much about it. Not that it shows. [Smirk.] I saw someone use it to knock around some furniture once. It seemed a lot like telekinesis to me.

Sort of. It's not just moving things around. It's... energy, really. Being able to read and use that energy means you can sense other people's energy too-- how they're feeling, how they're going to move...

[So basically it's an entire Order of Jean Greys.]
