Hey. [New Flooters, meet your resident weird-looking alien girl.] If you haven't met me yet, my name's Ahsoka Tano.

Starting tomorrow morning at 0700, I'm going to be holding regular guided meditation sessions in the Prayer Room for anyone who wants to learn. Lessons are free of charge and you don't need to know me or ask to come along. I'll be there every morning, so anyone can come as they please. [She figures that might help the anonymous person she promised to teach as well. They don't have to reveal who they are to her if they don't want to.]

I know it's early, but I thought early would be best so that those of you who have to go to work in the morning can make it. Plus, then you can start the day off on a high note! Meditation is a great way to help manage anxiety and stress. It's also proven to improve concentration and clarity of mind.

... In the evenings at 1800, I'll be holding some easy self defense classes in the Iskaulit gym, every Tuesday and Thursday. It's just basic stuff, like how to get away from different kinds of attackers. Don't worry if you think you're too small or not fit enough or whatever. There's a way for everyone.

It is a beginners class, but if you're experienced and want to help out, I'd appreciate any volunteers to partner up with people! Otherwise I'm going to be taking a lot of punches on my own, haha.

[If you simply want to show up to one of Ahsoka's classes, just go ahead. She'll be where she said she'd be! You don't have to show up to the first class, you can handwave going any day of the week. Turn up to a full class, an empty class, it's up to you.

Also, if you have a character who would volunteer to help Ahsoka out with the self defense classes, feel free to just tag into any relevant top levels from beginners if they're relevant to your interests. Don't wait for me to match you up with people, in other words.]

Not really. We only use titles in my world if you're someone important.

Why? Is it bothering you?

I'm -- [ she swallows hard. sansa doesn't know how to articulate her feelings on the matter without betraying some sort of societal norm. ] Only, it's awfully familiar to use only a name.

[ how cruel it is to tell someone that friendship is not mutual. not yet. ]

[Ahsoka doesn't take it as such; she's used to different cultures and norms clashing. And it seems like the culture Sansa is from is awfully formal. So she simply takes it as a cultural difference.]

Oh! Well, you don't need to worry about offending me, if that's the issue...

But if it'll put you at ease, I don't mind if you use whatever makes you happy. Miss or Sir or whatever. Just so long as you try not to say it around Anakin or Obi-Wan. They'll... get the wrong idea.

[ only a squire. and squire ahsoka sounds so very...

she shakes her head. how would she refer to podrick? he squired for her lord husband, and yet she can barely recall talking to him. let alone referring to him. ]

Mayhaps Lady Ahsoka would be better.

Well, it is a little strange, but... I can deal with it.

[ a soft almost-promise. suggesting that (given time) it might change. ]

Should I call you "Lady Sansa," then?

-- If it please you. [ soft, but with a particularly plaintive tone that suggests it would please her if ahsoka did so. ]

[She'd been half joking, but... Sansa's unspoken request is indeed so plaintive that Ahsoka can't help but smile and shake her head.]

... All right. I still think it sounds silly, but I'll try to remember.

I always liked the way it sounded. [ ... ] As a little girl, I'd hear the visiting lords and ladies call my lady mother by her proper title. It sounded so beautiful.

Hmmm. I guess I can kind of relate to that, a little.

It's not quite the same, but... when I was a youngling, I used to dream about achieving the rank of Master one day. For a Jedi, that's the greatest honour. It's a step above knighthood-- it means the Council has recognized your skill and dedication as a knight is the best of the best. Exemplary. Sometimes I'd daydream about being called "Master Tano" when I was supposed to be meditating.

Is it difficult? [ ... ] To meditate. Are their many such distractions?

Not so much any more. When I was a youngling it was awful. The Temple mandates meditation five times a day for initiates. I hated it. [She chuckles.]

I could never stay focused. There was an itch, or a fly, or I wasn't comfortable, or I wanted to go outside, or my mind would wander off into daydreams... well, you get the picture. You know what five year olds are like.

-- You sound like my sister, when she couldn't pay attention during lessons.

[ sansa had been an impeccably behaved five year old. arya, on the other hand. ]

Well, I've gotten better at it now. It just takes practice.

What's your sister like? I don't think I've heard you mention her before.

She's -- younger. [ and missing. ] Wilder.

[... Huh. Ahsoka isn't sure what to make of that.]

Is... that a bad thing?

[Wild is considered a bad thing in the Temple. And she's guessing, probably a bad thing for proper ladies like Sansa. But Sansa always seems so inscrutable.]

It was. And would have been -- in King's Landing. One must behave oneself at court.

What, even kids?

[From the way Sansa had said "younger," Ahsoka assumes she's a kid, anyway.]

Our Lord Father was the Hand of the King. We lived there by the invitation and mercy of His Grace. [ her words are likely rehearsed. practiced. they show none of the raw emotion sansa had once displayed to ahsoka in the shuttle. ] Arya received the same tutelage as I did -- there was no reason why she couldn't simply behave.

[ but instead arya ruined her nice dresses and took 'dancing lessons' that ended in bruises. honestly, it had been humiliating. but then her sister had disappeared and...

and everything had changed. ]

[Sansa's words strike something defensive within her-- not for Arya. She's never met Arya, doesn't know anything about her. But for herself. How many times had she heard the same as a youngling? That she was too unruly, and why could she not simply behave like the others?]

Well-- everyone's different! There are ten thousand Jedi in the Order, and we all receive the exact same education from birth. But we're not all the same.

[ she can't help but wonder -- would joffrey had been less cruel had arya not vexed him from such an early day? or would her life in king's landing had been less painful if she'd had a sister with whom she might share her doubts. but in the end, sansa knows exactly what would have happened: arya would have been far less capable of holding her tongue, and would have lost herself her head. it would have been speared on the city walls next to their father's. next to septa mordane's.

her mouth is dry when she tries to swallow. ]

But efforts can be made. [ sansa explains. ] There is difference, Lady Ahsoka. And then there is a wanton disregard for propriety.

... Why not leave her at home, then? If she's so unruly. If she doesn't want to be left out, she'll be motivated to do the right thing-- whatever that is in your culture. And if she doesn't mind staying behind, then... you don't have to worry about her behaviour, right? And she gets to do what she wants. It's a win-win situation, isn't it?
