[ The video activates itself to reveal a young man staring into space. His eyes are probably the most startling thing about him. Bright, eerily blue eyes that seem to pierce the fabric of reality. You may also see brown flecks of creatures embedded into his skin, near the neck and face.

And suddenly his gaze snaps back to the camera and he is all smiles and good intentions, as if a switch had been turned on. He sits on one of the many beds on the Marsiva Deck and kicks his legs, caught between the impression of a boy and a man.

( or something much older and far more dangerous ) ]

I do not need the spiel and I'm sure you are all quite thankful for that, but I am curious to know what qualifies as entertainment for our most benevolent hosts?

I have not lost him.

[ He has not lost any of them. Not yet. It's not his time to lose those tiny handfuls of hope and love he carries within him. It is not yet time to lose feeling, to watch emotion slip into the abyss of his own sacrifice.

If there is to be a promise between us, I would rather it be yours and mine than mine and his. You are Thor but you are also yourself.

Carry your legacy.

[ He nods, steadily, an apology. ]

Then, if a time for that promise comes, it will be yours, and not before.

[ He bows lowly, a twinkle in his eyes. ]

Oh, I'll be expecting it.

[ He smiles, widely, guileless. Oh, he's beginning to like this one already. ]

Will you share a meal with me?

I would be honoured. Though I doubt they will have anything fit for a king.

[ The need to eat or drink is rarely there, but he can still force it down, thankfully. Anything to pretend he is more human than he actually is. ]

We will make do, and I am told there are wonders on the station.

What constitutes as a wonder? Is it one for the wonder in their eyes or the wonder that lingers in the soul?

Can it not be both?

[ He laughs, a soft whimsical sound, old as bells. ]

If we walked around with starstruck eyes, we would not see much in front of us.

Then I will simply carry you.

I'm too heavy for you, I'm afraid. In body and in mind.

Perhaps when we are both light of heart again, we shall carry ourselves across.

We will walk far if we walk together? That is wise.

[ In a deadpan voice, that sounded like a teenager rather than the young man it came from. ]

I am a fountain of knowledge and wisdom.

Or at least, a veritable river.

[ He laughs again. ]

Is the water fit to drink from?

I would not recommend it. Full of mystical properties.

You know magic, then. What kind?

[ He hums lightly. Leto doesn't like talking about his powers. It tends to put people off. ]

Similar to your gatekeeper, Heimdall. I can perceive things from vast distances, through time and space. I can see the now and the future as well as the past.

[ Yet what he hears is a heavy burden. ]

Can you see as clearly here?

I still possess the clarity to perceive the timelines. But there is no one future but many. And I see them all. All possible moments, all potential outcomes, all flowing together.

Clarity does not offer certainty in time.

And can you see the Atroma's?

[ He shakes his head. ]

It's clouded. Most likely with magic.

[ And even if he could see it, he would not say much either way. He is not here to be the master of the Atroma's fate or theirs. ]

[ He nods. ]

They have formidable power, to be keeping us all here.

I wonder if their power lies in how they keep us here . . . or in the fact that we are all blind to the Atroma.

We know little and that is their true power.

Agreed. All I have met refer to them simply as the collective. No names, no descriptions.

Yes. And there are very few creatures I know that would allow themselves to be referred to as such.

[ The magical story-creatures of Aather, the Personae. But he doesn't sense their hand here and they were never so mysterious or cruel. ]
