[When the credits froze Vash was alright. He had some funds he couldn't get to because of it, but he had also had plenty of money squirreled away. The idea of 'invisible' money always seemed a bit odd to him anyway.

But what he did know is that some may not have done the same thing. While there was still plenty of food it would be what was on the ship and that stuff got bland fast. Besides, the ships were a bit crowded anyway.

Which is why he was turning on the video feature now. He clears his throat and puts on his most "charming" smile.]

Lovelies of the Fleet! It is simply terrible that our money has been taken from us through no fault of our own! Leaving us stuck with the terrible slop they call food on these ships!

But worry not! Your hero Vash has saved some away and is of course always willing to share with you lovelies! Looking for something a bit more tasty tonight. I, your lovely, handsome, and gracious host; Vash the St-[No, wait. Trying to NOT to be seen as criminal now.] Stupendous would be happy to take you on a lovely date tonight!

Simply meet me at the The Solar Garden! I'll be sure to reserve a nice table in the back for two or more~~~

All I ask in return is a bit of conversation and your company. Although fair warning; you'll likely want to thank me in other ways. Like an offering of dessert after dinner which I will be more than happy to accept!

[And there he'll end it and be waiting at The Solar Garden. A restaurant he has heard is a popular place for date night in this part of space.

This is obviously the perfect plan for a date. Totally no way this could go wrong and guys would show up, right? Or kids. Or people who know exactly what Vash is actually trying to do and will just troll the heck out of him, right?]

[here's a classy young lady. She certainly looks interested, if her smile is anything to judge by.]

That's quite gentlemanly of you. Is the offer still open?

For you? Always! Whenever you want! I could meet you right now if you're hungry!

I'd love to, if you haven't eaten already.

[here's an implication that his offer hasn't been outright rejected by everybody and one last chance to get one of this]

No! Not at all yet! Come by anytime! Like, right away even!

Perfect. We'll be right there.

[the video flickers off and true to her word, Michiru shows up shortly thereafter. The noise in the room almost seems to subside when she walks in, owing to not a few patrons turning around to stare.

A few words with the hostess, and then she's smiling at Vash and walking over.

It might be difficult to ignore the person accompanying her, though.]

So this is the place?

[ A brilliant ray of light seems to strike Vash in the face as the world fills with illusory pastel colors, rose petals, and crooning music. Even a restaurant as nice as this one pales in comparison to the incredibly handsome person alongside Michiru. Taken together, it just might hurt to stare at them too long.

Fortunately for everyone in the surrounding area, this particular dashing individual has eyes only for their partner. ] Not bad for short notice.

[ Vash's presence has yet to be acknowledged from this corner. ]

Wait-- we? [Oh boy! A friend!? Vash hopes they're just as smoking hot as Michiru! And what luck! They are!

...and obvious a couple. Damn.

But Vash can't help but be impressed at the entrance. He 'oohs' and claps. Oh wait, they're obviously here to hang with him. Alright, man. Play it cool.]

[Vash practically jumps up and down in his seat as he waves his hands up over his head.] Hey! Over here, pretty lady! It's me Vash! I'm over here!

[...that's a little over the top. Then again, she probably should've expected this, from his post. Some of the diners are looking over at Vash now.

Still, she's walking over, smile unchanging.] Vash the Stupendous, was it?

I'm Kaioh Michiru, and this is Tenoh Haruka.

Thanks for the meal. [ Haruka's eyes flick over Vash for the faintest moment. Then she's more concerned with pulling out Michiru's chair for her and taking a seat herself, not looking at their host at all.

She and Michiru are seated terribly close together. ]

[Vash may look just a bit disappointed by how close the two are, but he manages to keep most of it out of his expression. Partly because the two coolest people in the restaurant are totally here to see him!]

Yup! That's me! Vash the Stupendous! Looks like I lucked out and got a two for one for dinner! I can feel everyone in this place getting ridiculously jealous of me!

[this is going to be fun, she can tell.

Haruka gets a smile as Michiru sits down. And then she's leaning forward, addressing Vash.]

So how did you get the name "the Stupendous?"

[ Haruka opens her menu. ] It's self-given, isn't it?

[ She's never met anyone who went by something like that where it wasn't. And yet she still appears to be asking Michiru, not Vash... ]

Of c-course it's not self-given! That would be very lame and uncool! My, ah, fans of the show gave it to me of course! They kept calling me that in the fan mail this place sometimes on a very rare occasion gives out. [And hopefully these two don't know what a lie that is.]

[Michiru nudges Haruka's knee with her own - but really, that could mean anything.]

Is it? I suppose I haven't been paying enough attention to the broadcasts.

[which is to say, those occasions must be very rare indeed]

It's nice to have the confirmation that we're really being filmed.

[ Now Haruka's shoulder is nudging Michiru's, but that might just be to indicate something on the menu with a smile. ]

[Vash pouts just slightly that he wasn't in on this nudging.] Just don't ask me how the ratings really work. That I'm still completely confused on.

[Michiru just chuckles quietly and opens her menu. She just assumes those ratings work by pandering to the lowest denominator - or by maintaining whatever facade this whole thing could potentially be based on.

And...she's turning to Haruka.] Do you see anything good?

[the date she's on doesn't necessarily include Vash, oops]

They do have fish. [ At least, she's assuming that's what all these dishes are that are listed under "seafood"...

Haruka's date certainly doesn't include Vash. ]

Ob! Do you two like fish? Me too! In fact, salmon sandwiches are my favorite time of sandwich!

[oh Vash. It's hard being the third wheel in...a date you're hosting.]

Oh? Do they have that here?

I didn't see it listed.

[ Haruka turns over the menu, though. To be fair. But these all appear to be space fish. What a surprise. ] Sashimi, maybe.

[ They aren't calling it sashimi, but that's what she's gathering from this description of one of these dishes. ]

[Vash will keep powering through like he actually might have a chance.] I don't think they have them here. Probably not fancy enough for a place like this. We can go somewhere else if you two want.

[hmm. Michiru glances over at Haruka. What do you think?

To Vash:]

How many people have taken you up on your offer? [i.e. how much cash do you have?]

[ Haruka looks back at Michiru. She's fine here, but if Michiru is in the mood for something else, she's not going to argue. ] Up to you.

[ Now apparently she's even pretending Michiru hasn't spoken to Vash. ]
