[When the credits froze Vash was alright. He had some funds he couldn't get to because of it, but he had also had plenty of money squirreled away. The idea of 'invisible' money always seemed a bit odd to him anyway.

But what he did know is that some may not have done the same thing. While there was still plenty of food it would be what was on the ship and that stuff got bland fast. Besides, the ships were a bit crowded anyway.

Which is why he was turning on the video feature now. He clears his throat and puts on his most "charming" smile.]

Lovelies of the Fleet! It is simply terrible that our money has been taken from us through no fault of our own! Leaving us stuck with the terrible slop they call food on these ships!

But worry not! Your hero Vash has saved some away and is of course always willing to share with you lovelies! Looking for something a bit more tasty tonight. I, your lovely, handsome, and gracious host; Vash the St-[No, wait. Trying to NOT to be seen as criminal now.] Stupendous would be happy to take you on a lovely date tonight!

All I ask in return is a bit of conversation and your company. Although fair warning; you'll likely want to thank me in other ways. Like an offering of dessert after dinner which I will be more than happy to accept!

[And there he'll end it and be waiting at The Solar Garden. A restaurant he has heard is a popular place for date night in this part of space.

This is obviously the perfect plan for a date. Totally no way this could go wrong and guys would show up, right? Or kids. Or people who know exactly what Vash is actually trying to do and will just troll the heck out of him, right?]

Man, I hope so too. I get a bit stir crazy without some room to stretch my legs in. I miss feeling sunlight on my skin.

I miss the smell of sunlight on grass. It's a distinct smell.

Of the scent of the earth before rain.

Does the smell changed depending on the planet for you?

... Don't know. Last place smelt a lot like Earth.

Were you around for the desert planet?

No. And I'm not very familiar with deserts anyway.

Nothing really worth wanting to be familiar with.

But the last place smelled a lot like Earth? Never been to Earth myself, but so many people are from there and all the stories I heard of the place, [-before coming to the fleet.] I've always been curious as to what the place was like.

Earth is a lot of things. Has to do with the... planetary tilt, thing. Makes seasons. And lots of different temperatures and humidities, or something.

There's deserts. Blasted, scorching deserts. And swamps so wet that the air itself is thick with water and hard to breathe.

Really? I never even thought about having too much humidity in the air making it hard to breath.

You'd feel like you were choking. You're from a desert, used to dry, dry heat.

Earth does sound like an amazing place choking or not.

Yeah. I guess it is. It's not my birth home but I suppose you feel fond of a place after a few centuries.

It's not? So have you traveled in space before then? [As that's of course how you changed planets. No other way.]

There's ways between worlds, if you know where to look, how to pick apart the ways between.

I knew a few witches who made their ways. I learned from them.

Ways between worlds? Besides space travel? [He doesn't say it as if he doesn't believe. More as if he's having trouble comprehending and picturing how it would work.] Sounds pretty useful. Space can be a bit empty and lonely at times.

Doesn't work between, like, Earth and Mars. It's more about slipping between realms. Dimensions? Places where the rules of the world are different.

Well, I may not completely understand it, but it still sounds pretty useful to be able to travel between different worlds.

Yeah. Used to be. Back when we could do it.

Use to? Did something happen?

Too dangerous. The Adversary took over. Any magic draws the attention of his seers.

The Adversary? Well, that does sound like a bad guy type name. They must be pretty bad if you try to avoid any magic at all.

He hunts by tracking magic. Or rather, his witch hunters do. I can't do magic, less of a big deal for me, but using the ways between means risking magic being picked up.

Kinda like a dog on a scent trail then?

Bit, yeah. Similar sort of thing.

Well that makes things a bit difficult. We don't really have anything like magic where I'm from. [As he considers himself more science than magic.] So I can't imagine what it must be like to have it and not be able to use it without a baddie coming down on your head.
