[ The video starts, but it would be easy to assume at first that the young man featured in it was still asleep. He's got a grey beanie shoved over his eyes in a manner that was definitely intentional. But after a long moment, he groans and sits up, pulling the beanie up so he can see what he's doing. ]

...Ugh. Where...

[ He does notice the camera after a moment, and he freezes. It's with an entirely unhappy scowl that he turns away after a moment, looking around. ]

What the hell is this?

[ He didn't ask for this, and he definitely doesn't seem impressed to be the latest member of intergalactic reality television. ]

[ He sighs, coming closer. Leto carefully rests his palm against Shinjiro's cheek, the wormskin stark against their skin. ]

Foolish.

[ Shinjiro leans ever-so-slightly into the touch. The wormskin is strange, but he can live through the odd sensation. ]

I know.

It is your thing, anyway.

[ He pulls his hand away after a while, mindful of how he feels. ]

We might not be assigned to the same ship.

I'd be surprised if we were.

[ Pleasantly surprised, but still. ]

That doesn't mean I won't keep in touch while I can. We're still Ruby, even if we're not in the same place.

[ That bond is steel and born of blood. ]

Do you know what your augment is?

[ It's Lab Support, but he actually hasn't focused on that knowledge. He shakes his head. ]

I'm not entirely sure how to figure that out.

I'm sure it'll come to you once you arrive on your ship. I happen to be tactical support, apparently.

Tactical support, huh?

[ He rubs the back of his neck. ]

Sounds like something that would suit you.

[ With cheek. ]

I do like tactically destroying my enemies.

[ Shinjiro laughs lightly. ]

Is that so?

Of course. It's one of my greatest talents.

I can see that, too. Makes me glad I was never your enemy.

[ Though he probably pissed him off once or twice. ]

I don't have that many enemies anyway. I've crushed them all into the sand.

[ And they will no longer rise up against him. The Corrino threat was gone, the Harkonnen family was all but dust. ]

Is that literal?

[ His tone is light, teasing. But he does remember that Dune came from a desert planet. ]

Well. I meant it metaphorically, but it applies in a literal sense too.

[ He waves his hand flippantly. ] At least while I'm here, Ghani will look after the throne. She and Farad'n need to spend time together and I'm hardly conducive to that.

Farad'n? I don't think you've mentioned him before. Is that her husband?

Yes. He's . . . not too shabby, I suppose.

[ But no one is good enough for his Ghanima. ]

I let them keep the marriage once I returned from the desert. We will need heirs to the Atreides line.

[ And Dune won't be providing those heirs. Shinjiro nods slightly. ]

So are things going okay there?

I left it in capable hands. I doubt any particular upheaval will happen while I'm away.

[ And he'll enforce his peace with an iron fist. ]

Well, that's good. Maybe you'll have a little while to relax, then.

[ Says the guy who is pretty much entirely incapable of relaxing. ]

I know how to relax, unlike you, remember?

I don't need to relax.

[ He'll relax when he's dead. ]

I was not aware relaxing qualifies as a need.

[ Shinjiro groans and pinches the bridge of his nose. ]

Fine, then I don't want to relax.

[ There's a wealth of issues he's not going to touch on any further that this statement covers. ]

[ He sighs. ]
