Who: Pearl and you!
Broadcast: Sure.
Action: On the Vanquish
When: Now..ish.
[Pearl has been poofed for a week! It's kinda like hitting the reset button, but with 500% more canon updating!Either way, we've all now lost the chance to sell Pearl for lots of money and then have her steal herself back.
The scene is pretty nondescript at first. Just the bridge of the ship, with a gem sitting on a pillow off to the side if you squint. If you wait long enough, the gem suddenly glows, levitating over to where there's a clear space. Light comes out of the rock, cycling through a few humanoid shapes before settling on a familiar one.]
Mmmf. [Pearl stretches almost luxuriously.] That wasn't too bad. Though for the life of me, I can't remember why -
[and then she's finally noticing her surroundings.] - I'm still here??

And then the rock that Pearl had left behind glows. And floats. And projects light, at which point Eugene's honestly scrambling for cover, half of him convinced that whatever she'd left with them is about to detonate.
It doesn't, obviously. But he's left staring dumbly at the display, still hiding behind the doorjamb and staring when Pearl scans the bridge like it's the thing that's out of the ordinary.]
. . . holy Moon Power Makeup, Batman.

...I have no idea what you just said.
[...she's really stuck here, isn't she?]
no subject
[That's a pop culture step too far, even for him, to really get into. But Pearl still seems to be herself, so he untucks himself a bit more, coming out around the edge of the door.]
You kinda startled me with the whole . . . light show. Thing. There.

Our bodies are formed from light, so it...could get a bit blinding. [to say the least]
no subject
[That's . . . well. Kind of awesome. Impossible-sounding, but awesome.]
Wait, so the you I'm talking to right now is just . . . a projection? Coming from this?
[He taps at his own forehead, where there definitely isn't anything fancier than skin (decidedly less fancy than glowing rocks and solid light, honestly).]
no subject
[and she just shrugs] I am my gem, but it's a lot easier to get things done when you've got a body.

[He'd pulled together some basic probably-not-human details from basic observations of Pearl, the least of which being that he's never once seen her eat. So finding out she's a sentient gem is weird, yeah. But at least it's an explanation for the 'so what is your deal, anyway' talk he's never quite figured out how to roll out.]
Well, uh. Good to have you back. I mean- [He gestures at her sort of vaguely, head to toe.] -back. Pretty sure we didn't blow anything up too badly while you were on sabbatical there.

She's glancing around the bridge, as if to make sure there aren't gaping holes in the walls or something.] Last time I had to regenerate, the house looked like a tornado had hit it.
no subject
[But he can't help laughing a little at that, if only at the near-universality of the experience of coming home to find the people you're living with have half-destroyed it.]
So you're the designated bringer of calm and order, pretty much?
no subject
[the thought of Amethyst's cavern of garbage makes her shudder slightly, but...she's going to start missing them in a bit.]
action;
When Pearl's done and stretching, Clay drops the comm and rushes towards the bridge. It takes a moment, but soon enough, he's barging through the door before it even finishes opening.]
Pearl!
[Oh, sorry, it looks like Clay's totally forgotten that Pearl's not one for hugs, because he's definitely gonna wrap her up in a big one.]
no subject
Clay. Did you miss me?
no subject
Yeah! I wasn't sure what happened, I saw you as a - uh... a pearl? So I asked Steven what was going on and he explained things but - now you're back!
[Girl he thought you were DEAD for a few minutes]
no subject
[waaait] How long was I gone?
no subject
[What with him watching the pearl diligently. He can't help bouncing a little on his feet and twitch his fingers a bit; he's excited and full of energy, and he has no way of letting it out other than to repress it all for the moment.]
Do you remember what happened to you? Did someone attack you? [And that IS a concerning topic, especially since that implies his crewmate was badly hurt, and it might have happened on his ship.]
no subject
Not that I recall, which is the odd part. [now she's just thinking out loud to herself] I was at home, but I'd forgotten about this place until just now.

[this makes no sense. She can't be in two places at once.] It could be a dream. A very precise, rather plausible, and hugely detailed dream.
no subject
I wouldn't discredit that just yet. I've heard of people falling asleep and going home here before, so maybe it's not really a dream... But we kept an eye on you a lot, and your pearl - uh... I mean, you were there the whole time, so no, you definitely didn't leave.
no subject
Did they find out if their dreams turned out to be true?
