[Pearl has been poofed for a week! It's kinda like hitting the reset button, but with 500% more canon updating! Either way, we've all now lost the chance to sell Pearl for lots of money and then have her steal herself back.

The scene is pretty nondescript at first. Just the bridge of the ship, with a gem sitting on a pillow off to the side if you squint. If you wait long enough, the gem suddenly glows, levitating over to where there's a clear space. Light comes out of the rock, cycling through a few humanoid shapes before settling on a familiar one.]

Mmmf. [Pearl stretches almost luxuriously.] That wasn't too bad. Though for the life of me, I can't remember why -

[and then she's finally noticing her surroundings.] - I'm still here??

Right. I can see how that could be distressing. [eheh] As long as our gems are intact, we can retreat to them to regenerate when we're badly damaged.

[waaait] How long was I gone?

Uh - A week? It's felt like a lot longer, though.

[What with him watching the pearl diligently. He can't help bouncing a little on his feet and twitch his fingers a bit; he's excited and full of energy, and he has no way of letting it out other than to repress it all for the moment.]

Do you remember what happened to you? Did someone attack you? [And that IS a concerning topic, especially since that implies his crewmate was badly hurt, and it might have happened on his ship.]

[that's not too bad. It definitely felt longer.]

Not that I recall, which is the odd part. [now she's just thinking out loud to herself] I was at home, but I'd forgotten about this place until just now.

... Wait, wait - [He reaches his arms out as if to grab her shoulders, but holds back, instead flexing his hands a bit before he drops them to his sides.] You were home? Like, your world?

It felt like it, but it can't be true, since I was right here the whole time.

[this makes no sense. She can't be in two places at once.] It could be a dream. A very precise, rather plausible, and hugely detailed dream.

[He frowns a bit at that, pulling his arms back to cross them instead. Hmmm. Very, very curious.]

I wouldn't discredit that just yet. I've heard of people falling asleep and going home here before, so maybe it's not really a dream... But we kept an eye on you a lot, and your pearl - uh... I mean, you were there the whole time, so no, you definitely didn't leave.

Hmm. [Pearl pauses, fingers brushing against her gem for a moment.]

Did they find out if their dreams turned out to be true?

Mm, can't say. I didn't follow up on them... [Mostly because he didn't know them, and didn't know that was actually a dream thing that happened until now.] Maybe you could ask the network about it? I'm sure some of those people are still around.
