Dear Atrama, Can we please visit a planet with beaches next? I keep meeting people who haven't seen one and that's terrible. It's actually a crime where I come from. Please don't let anyone get arrested. I believe in you. Also if you take requests can I have my cat please. And some chalk and I was meant to have a sword I think I could be wrong. It's a short silver gold magical IT'S A LIGHTSABER A RED ONE Either that or just give me Mihawks.

Oh, two Sith Lords, and you're still alive! Most impressive, little one.

[ He smiles, kindly. ]

Red lightsabers are made from this special kind of crystal. And I'll tell you what, if I ever run across one, I'll make you a lightsaber personally.

[ It's going to be a glowstick, isn't it? Yes, yes it is ]

Really? [You're way better than Kirito, mystery person.] But is it true only Sith Lords use them? That seems rather unfair to the poor colour. I won't turn into a Sith Lord if I have one, will I?

Do you think you'll start doing bad things and turn Sith if you get a lightsaber?

Anything's possible, I suppose. But I'm sure if I accidentally turn to the dark side, I'll come back to the light very quickly! My mother wouldn't like it, after all.

Then you won't turn to the dark side. A red lightsaber doesn't make you bad.

[ "Accidentally", haha. But humoring her: ]

But that's good! I would hate to think red was a bad colour for Jedi. Are you a Jedi?

[ He chuckles at the question, wryly. For a moment, he wasn't sure if he should answer yes or no. But for simplicity's sake. ]

[ Grinning: ]

[And for the second time Katie drops her comm, likely kind of obvious by the small yelp and the thud-crackle that hits the audio. You Jedi are all trying to give her heart attacks.

She snatches it up very quickly after that, though, and at least Anakin isn't treated to the same squinting that Obi-Wan was. But she does look very surprised.]

You're here! [Nobody told her these things WHY DO THEY NEVER TELL HER] And you're--

[And not at all evil-sounding, but then he wasn't to begin with. Oh dear.]

[ He begins but never finishes before she explodes in excitement. He figures she's a kid from Coruscant or one of the core worlds, but knows better than to just assume that. There's a pause before he starts again. ]

Huh, so you know my name. I don't think we've met before. [ A beat, clearly trying to remember the original post. ] Dorothy?

[O-oh that's right, she needs to be as careful here as she was with Obi-Wan. Especially so with Anakin. Real people, not movie characters. That changes things.]

Dorothy, that's right! Um, I don't think we've met. But I've seen you before! You're very impressive.

[Ahaha not so much. But impressive, definitely.]

[ Child, please. Be less suspicious. ]

You have? [ He sounds surprised, at least and less sarcastic. ] I don't think I've done anything that counts as impressive here! I'm much more impressive when I have my lightsaber.

[She's not good at not being suspicious.]

I don't think I saw you in person. You were [...oh lord did they call it television what was it she can't remember she didn't pay attention--] up on a screen! It was all very exciting. You were fighting with another Jedi!

[If he was running around fighting wars and being heroic, he surely had to turn up on a news broadcast somewhere. Right? Fingers crossed.

...technically none of that is actually a lie, either.]

[ Maybe all small children are like that. Who knows ]

On a screen, fighting against another Jedi? [ He sounds confused, a bit shocked, and he is exactly that. They don't allow vids in the Temple and especially not with a reporter. And that would be the only place where he would fight another Jedi, in a sparring ring. ]

No, that can't be me. You sure you weren't watching a holodrama? Hey, maybe it was someone who looked like me.

No, no, not against, with. [Hurriedly. Don't get the wrong idea! Or the right one.] Um... you know. Both of you together. Against bad guys!

Jedi wouldn't ever fight other Jedi, would they?

[ Against the bad guys! That's more like it. ] So it was a holodrama!

Sometimes, Jedi spar- they fight each other for training. Obi-Wan and I would used to do that when we had free time and were in the Temple. We spent hours sparring. We have to keep in shape and practice beating the bad guys, right?

Oh! That's right! [She's relieved. This is less dangerous ground.] And you're all very good at it.

Do you ever spar with people that aren't Jedi? Though I suppose nobody else really uses a sword or anything, so I suppose you wouldn't get much chance.

[ He'll... let that go for now. It's probably easy to mistake holodramas with actual war footage. ]

Sparring doesn't require a lightsaber. We could always use wooden swords or practice hand-to-hand combat. My Captain is an excellent example someone I would be more than happy to spar with if we ever had the free time. Not that he's here, but if you've ever seen him in action - that man knows how to handle himself without a blaster.

Wooden swords! That's a good idea. [Bruises only. Seems good.] Would you be willing to spar with me some time?

[Said the nine year old.]

[ Speaking as a former nine year old who loved every minute he had with a training lightsaber ]

If that's what you want then, of course. But you might need a bit of training before you can spar with anyone.

[She likes him. That's a better answer than you're too young.]

Hmm, you might have a point. How much training do you think I'd need?

[ Where he's from, it's never too young to learn to defend yourself. ]

How much time you got?

As much time as I need, I imagine. I trained as a knight for a while! But not a Jedi one, just a normal clanky one.

A clanky knight?

[ He chuckles lightly, then explains. ]

We call some droids clankers or tinnies where I'm from. It sounds like you're a droid knight. Did you train with swords as well?

Oh! Well, being a droid knight sounds like fun, but I think I'm not made of the right stuff. Knights in our worlds wear armour that clanks! And they ride horses and save damsels, that kind of thing. Or at least they did. [Probably.]

I've trained a little! I don't know if I was any good.

That's... [ He thinks about it for a second. ] ... almost exactly what Jedi do. You just replace the horses with starfighters and damsels with not-damsels.

Only one way to find out. Let me know when you can and we'll have our own training session.
