Log 002 | Video + Action - Can't Kick Those Old Habits

Okay, so I think I have the money situation figured out here.

We get money by being popular on this "show" and being "ranked" -

_{[ Can everyone hear his continued disbelief of this load of crap they are being fed, but fine he's playing along for the time being. ]}

But we can also get it on the station by offering to do work. Am I right? Which, by the way, just seems like it's adding insult to injury.

So aside from my making a cardboard sign and tacking it up in the space station, I'll set it out here too - I'm generally good with technology and fixing things in general, so if you ever need anything fixed I'm more than happy to get whatever it is you need running again for a fair price.

And if anyone has a recommendation on someplace to get good, cheap clothes on this station, I'd appreciate it. And real food.

_{[ He can only live so long between his uniform and the gray jumpsuit and replicated food items. That buffet on the Blue Fish ruined him to early. There are limits. ]}

_{[ As he said, he made his way down to the space station to see if he can drum up some business and start earning some cash. He hates being a free loader or being put on charity - he just hates being non-useful in general and he's terrible at sitting around and doing nothing. Besides, job hunting might also come with info hunting, so it's two birds with one stone in a sense. So off to find a job and some food that hasn't been replicated. It never tasted the same, no matter how much the product might say otherwise.

One really should not be surprised to see him chatting someone up, male, female, green, tailed, scaled ,or otherwise. It might be equally common for him to be getting slapped, and there's about a 65% chance of catching him in the midst of a bar fight if you find him later in the evening, or leaving in the company of someone. He did mention he had a reputation to keep up, and everyone needed some outlet for dealing with their situation. This was his.

He will try not to look to chagrinned making his way back to the ships come the morning though... ]

_{[ ooc: feel free to hit him up anywhere on the station as he will literally be going around every inch of it. And by all means, be the one being hit on, or just interrupt his night/morning because he's made poor life choices somewhere along the way! ]}}

That's okay. There's probably something not right about the mood being up after a bar fight anyway. [She looks curiously at him.]

Where we going anyway? [Other than away from where they had been. She realizes they don't really have any purpose in their direction.]

_{[ He paused, looking around them before bursting out into a soft
laugh. ]}

You know, I have no idea? But I'll tell you something - I'm starving. Let's see if we can't find the closest thing we can get to pizza.

It's like you're speaking magic words. [She loves pizza.] I'm in. Just don't hit on any girls if they look like they're with a well-armed group.

Surely you don't think me the sort of cad to hit on someone else when I'm already in the company of such a lovely lady?

_{[ He looked at her aghast. ]}

I think the right answer here is supposed to be no? I'll go with no. I couldn't possibly think that.

_{[ He held out his arm for her. ]}

Especially during a pizza date. What sort of excuse for a gentleman does that sort of thing?

_{[ He almost sniffs. Almost. But he's enjoying this little banter,
which may or may not be brought on slightly from his buzz tiny though it
may be. ]}

[What is that arm for? Okay, she knows what it's for, but she looks at it uncertainly for a moment before deciding to accept it a little awkwardly.] It's pizza. I don't remember anything about a date.

Who said this was a date? Is it wrong of me to want to escort you?

_{[ He titled his head at her curiously as they set off. After a second
he whispers - ]}

Maybe I just need a little support to walk.

You called it a pizza date. [She raises an eyebrow in his general direction.] How much have you had?

A lot more than I thought I would need to get a buzz. And it's not a date. If I said it, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm just hanging out with a friend after a bar fight, eating pizza to soothe the ache in my jaw.

_{[ There, better Kitty? ]}

I'm not sure if that's how pizza or jaws work, but I still approve. [She glances at him.] Don't worry about it. [She's not offended. And he totally did call it a date. She just hadn't really thought about being open to dates yet.]

_{[ Date didn't exactly mean the same thing to him as it might to
others. He wasn't one for relationships, not romantic ones anyways. He
just.. it wasn't something he could do. Dates were casual things for him, a
fun time, nothing serious. He had bolted far more than once when things had
edged that way before. ]}

It's hard to feel bad when you're eating pizza.

_{[ Flawless plan. ]}

Where did you learn to fight like that, by the way?

Truer word have never been spoken. [Pizza is the best.]

That was nothing. I learned to fight with the X-Men. Logan taught me.

Logan... I heard that name recently.

_{[ But he doesn't jump to thinking he's the same Logan, though he did
wonder. It did seem possible for Atroma to pull from the same worlds and
universes, after all. ]}

What's the X-Men?

He arrived recently. A version of him anyway. Not the one who trained me exactly, but similar. [At least from what she can tell. Different world. Different experiences, but the man isn't unfamiliar to her.]

We're a team of mutants who fight against the mad man trying to destroy the world. Though if you ask anyone but me they'll be a little less specific on the mission. [It occurs to her she's not sure what they'd say exactly. General protection against anything that would threaten?]

_{[ Ugh, it sounds like a headache. Other worlds and times - they
sounded like trouble to him, even if having Old Spock around had been a
boon when times got tough. Spock had told him that without some tips from
Old Spock, they might not have beaten Khan. Just knowing there's another
him, in another world, is actually a touch creepy. ]}

So you're a team of super heroes?

That's such a weird, loaded term. [But it's far from the first time it's been applied to her. She just doesn't exactly know how to accept the title of "hero" given the people she's failed and the less than heroic choices she's had to make at times.]

Ah, is it? Sorry about that. Just with people throwing around terms like mutant and powers it makes you think of heroes, you know? Like people from comic books or cartoons. Besides, if you're using your abilities for the good of others, be they mutant or mundane, doesn't that make you a kind of hero anyways?

_{[ So asked as they walk into the late night pizza joint and he takes
them to a booth, plopping down on one side and seeming to pause as he gets
his bearings from the shift in position. ]}

[She sighs slightly.] I was told once [twice if you count second-hand from Rogue] that I am in a comic book in someone else's world. As a superhero I guess. [Happy?] Of course now I'm also in a reality show. And if I'm the protagonist what does that make you? [Smirking at him.]

The love interest.

_{[ He waggles his brows at her and runs a hand through his fluffy hair,
but his laugh says he's totally joking. He's not the romantic type, but
hey, you give him an opening he's going to take it for the humor, Kitty.
]}

Or maybe I'm the best friend - you know, the one you tell everything to and dish out sassy life advice with occasional problems of my own to solve.

[She manages not to take "the love interest" as seriously as she did the casual "date" term that was thrown out earlier. She just smirks back.] I don't know. Is the audience going to be into your occasional problems? My life is really fascinating. But maybe. Let's hear some sassy advice.

I don't know if you noticed, but I was just in a bar fight. Everyone loves watching a good bar fight. I think I'll be fine.

_{[ He snorted as he gulped water, looking at her quite seriously.

Kitty, you don't give sassy life advice all the time. Otherwise it loses it's emotional impact on the show when it happens. You actually have to be in trouble, and as far as I remember, we just left that behind. Hopefully. I don't think anyone would follow us to want to finish what I did not start.

Wow, there are a lot of rules to do this. Should I get a notepad? [Yes, she still thinks in terms of paper products.]

Don't worry. The protag doesn't need notes, just us supplementary characters.

So you're also like personal assistants? So many things I didn't realize. It does explain all the montage sequences though.
