[ To say that Ramse is displeased is an understatement. This is the second time he's been yanked from one world to another, and where the first was actually an improvement, this second place is... not. Outerspace. Really. Really?! They don't even have space travel in his time, though he knows that in the past people made it as far as the moon. Nothing like this. His outrage at being taken is the overwhelming thing, though. He was happy in Eudio, where there was food and people he cared for. They told him they were sending him home (something he already had mixed feelings about) and instead he's here. Having to learn a new way of life all over again and excuse me it's being watched?

He's found the armory and the clothes in his bunk room, at least, so now he's dressed and armed. He sits in the cold empty space while he fiddles with the communicator. It turns out to be easy to use, and when he makes a broadcast his voice is deep and grumbly. Someone's sooooo cranky. ]

So let me get this straight, I'm new and might not have understood. We're here... to be entertainment. Not to save the world, not to help with a war, not to do anything productive at all.

Probably some kind of trans-spacial displacement system either way instead of submarines or spaceships. [The arrival was pretty sudden either way. Not that they couldn't have simply been knocked out for it. But no one ever wakes up during that?]

On the station we're at there are bars and clubs. Not that you'll have any money yet, but there are jobs too.

...I have no idea what kind of job I could do in outerspace. I'm supposed to be working 'security' whatever that means.

It's basically what I did back home. I didn't like it, it's just... survival.

There... wasn't much to like about my world. The place I just was, I did wilderness training. I liked that.

Not much call for it in outerspace.

Maybe. It was Earth, 2043.

I assume that's the year and not that you'd numbered versions of earth. Mine wasn't that far into the future, but it also wasn't going to last that long.

Apocalypse. As in a person's name, not the biblical event.

There was a massive human genocide going on, so yeah. More or less.

To survive and to protect others. [Probably more weight on the last part though.]

A plague. It's killed 98% of the world and it's still mutating. We had one shot at a vaccine and... somebody destroyed it.

Did that someone want to wipe out the population? [Stranger things have happened.]

No, they want to reset the timeline so that the plague never happened. It all came down to who you believed in.

[Funny you should mention resetting the timeline... That was kind of her last mission back home.] Oh...

Did that seem possible?

I thought it was. I mean, we've got the machine, we've traveled through time. But... [ he shrugs. they were sort of in the middle of things. ] It got messy.

It sounds like if it did work that could have been a way to save more people. [Maybe trying to justify her own team's actions.]
