[Video] Sam, Stop Being High Maintenance
Who: Nami and anyone
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: SS Bloodsport
When: 24th Feb
[Well, it's been two days. Pretty sure she can rule out roofies by this point, and other potential illnesses given nothing changes. Pulse is still fine, breathing's regular, all that jazz. That leaves one likely possibility she can think of, given they've already proven Fleet passengers can be turned on and off at will.
Which irritates her. But who knows. Maybe the space orgy was just too much for their delicate viewers. HAH.]
Hey, so question. I know the augments are known to malfunction sometimes. What kind of malfunctions are we talking about? Have they ever... dropped anyone into a coma without warning?
...is there any way of countering it, if so?
[She bets this question has probably been asked a million times, but she can't find anything recent. Save her some reading material, guys.]

[Not yours. Which she suspects you are.]
no subject
May I ask... why the interest in augments? The glitches with them?
[It's not that it was unusual for people in the fleet, especially newcomers, to be asking questions about the augments, or even to be concerned about what they can do. Yet, Wanda was curious to see if there was something more to Nami's interest.]

From what people are saying, I guess I'm on the money. It's the augment messing with him.
no subject
I am sorry. You must be worried about him.
no subject
Just a little. But he'll be okay. I'll just pretend he's getting some rest.
no subject
And when he does wake up... if he is not quite himself, what will you do?
no subject
"Not quite himself" could cover a huge range of things. But he's my friend. I can't see that I wouldn't just try to help.
no subject
Know that even if he may not seem the same at first, he is still your friend, too.
no subject
[Which is... pretty much how it goes, in the end.]
no subject
He is lucky then, to have a friend like you.
no subject
You don't have anyone like that here?
no subject
A few.
[She noticeably grows sadder.]
Less now than there used to be.
no subject
I had a few of my friends here, but now there's just this idiot.
[Sam we're talking about you.]
no subject
[... especially the ones you grow close to. She finishes the sentence in her head.]
no subject
But back home, at least I know I'll probably see them again when we next come back to port. Here, not so much.
no subject
[That catches Wanda a bit by surprise. Wanda has had very little exposure to someone identifying themselves as a pirate, and thus her perception on what one looks like had been rather limited.]
no subject
no subject
[It was always so interesting to her, the kinds of people Wanda has met while a member of the Fleet.]
So you do pirate things then? Back home? You sail the oceans and hunt for buried treasure?
[She does not sound condescending, rather she means to come off as genuinely interested in what Nami's life must be like back home.]
no subject
...we might do more piratical things if our captain would stop getting himself into trouble with every island we land on.
no subject
no subject
Oh no. No, we're very successful pirates, if the bounties on our heads are anything to go by.
no subject
[Wanda stops herself, as Nami's words about her "captain" constantly getting her into trouble.]
When you said your captain was troublesome, you meant...
[She lets her voice trail off, opening the door for Nami to answer.]
no subject
We do get a bunch of treasure on the side a lot of the time. I just think digging for it in a nice, calm location would be better for my heart some days.
[Which...hasn't stopped her from stepping up to the plate every single time. Luffy's a moron, but he's a lovable one, and he's always right besides.]

I guess I'll just have to make do. [Long-suffering navigator, that's what she is. Loyal, though. She's just allowed to complain, right?]
