( been a while since you've seen or heard from this one, hasn't it? well, he's been making his rounds, that's for sure, but he's about to bring something to your attention that he's almost positive no one else has bothered to make a note of. )

Okay, so I've gotten on board with the whole I'm-on-a-space-reality-show thing. That's not the problem here. ( he clears his throat. ) The problem is that we're supposed to be getting paid for this junk, right? Has anybody bothered checking their bank account lately?

Anybody tried to find out why our assets are frozen? I mean, this is a serious oversight. Is there some kind of upper management or somebody in human resources I can talk to?

There are ways to get around it, if you've been spending enough time on the station.

I've been getting around my fair share, but feel free to enlighten me.

I just mean taking odd jobs here and there. It's a good way to make money and contacts. It is a little worrying that our assets can just be frozen like this, though. Not that I ever thought the money really was ours.

Oh, well, yeah. That I've been doing. It's just -- ( vague hand-wavy motion here. ) I guess worrying is a good way to put it.

My vote's more on aggravating, though.

I guess I just wasn't terribly surprised. I mean, they obviously want us to think we have a certain amount of autonomy, but in the end, we're still prisoners here.

I guess they didn't think we'd be very entertaining if we actively knew we were being held hostage. ( essentially. that's how he sees it. you don't allow him to go home? you're holding him hostage.

I think it's self-evident that we're prisoners, given that we've all been kidnapped here, regardless of how much personal freedom we're given.

Mostly I've been working. What with the frozen accounts, and the fact that you need money to do just about anything on this station.

I- I'm not sure. It must be nearing two weeks? After that circus performance with randomized ship assignments I've barely had time to breath let alone think to check to crew manifests for all the ships.

Are you alright? Is it just you? [ It was worth asking - both questions were. The fleet was a joke and bad with money so of course she didn't trust them to have the facilities necessary to see to Joker's medical needs. ]

Eh, at least you found me. ( and that's more than he can say for himself, even if there hasn't been much time to check out the whole of everything else, just to see if anyone else they might know - anyone from the normandy - might be here. )
