im 500 years old and what is this

Who: lioriley and anyone
Broadcast: fleetwide
Action: the bishop
When: right meow

[ lioriley isn't really one for asking such seemingly random questions to the fleet, but she has no idea who to turn to in her moment of need!

hence why the elf is sitting in one of the medbays aboard the bishop, a set of boots before her. she gestures to them and cuts to the chase quickly; ]

A question, for those that may be familiar with such things:

...How is one meant to walk in these? I had tried them on earlier, but I was met with - ah - well, let us just say that I am not accustomed to such things. If you happen to be though, any input would be highly appreciated. [ lessons in walking in heels even more so, but they can get to that eventually. ]

Maker's blood, and I thought the heels some of the ladies wore at home were ridiculous.

[Have a bit of wide-eyed staring.]

Best thing to do is try to keep your weight evenly distributed on your feet, though perhaps lean a bit back more on your heel. Have you never worn heels at all, or just ones that large? Because those are... not ideal to learn how to walk in high-heeled shoes.

I would experiment with both and see what works. My experience with heels didn't involve ones as high as what you have there, so perhaps it differs. [And on that note...] Might I suggest learning in smaller heels first? You could seriously damage your ankles with those if you do not know how to walk in them properly.

Mm, yes. And you can work your way up to those you currently have.

[Ah, yeah, there's the kicker.]

This station is enormous. Surely they have a shoemaker or some shop that sells them. Any of the locals could likely point you in the right direction.

Happy to help. For the record, though, the shoes are quite stylish.

Varric did? And here I thought most dwarves didn't have a knack for style. Serves me right.
