A question, for those that may be familiar with such things:

...How is one meant to walk in these? I had tried them on earlier, but I was met with - ah - well, let us just say that I am not accustomed to such things. If you happen to be though, any input would be highly appreciated. [ lessons in walking in heels even more so, but they can get to that eventually. ]

Yeah. They actually look like a pair I used to wear years ago! Although I had... way more of a heel on mine than those do. Those look rough.

I'm guessing you've never worn heels before?

I think it changes your center of gravity. You'll have to walk with more pressure on your toes.

Wouldn't the easier thing be to just now wear them at all? Not that I don't think they look nice. But you have to go with what works for you.

But in heels that tall, you're going to get tired in a hurry. I'd practice in something a little more reasonable to start with.

But I've worn heels before. There's a trick to walking in them, and once you pick it up, it's just a matter of adjusting to the height.

Best thing to do is try to keep your weight evenly distributed on your feet, though perhaps lean a bit back more on your heel. Have you never worn heels at all, or just ones that large? Because those are... not ideal to learn how to walk in high-heeled shoes.

The heel? Someone else had suggested leaning more weight on my toes. [ and to step flat down. why is this so overly complicated they're just shoes!! ]

I have never worn heels before this moment, sadly. And they were a gift, so I had hoped to simply learn with these.

I would experiment with both and see what works. My experience with heels didn't involve ones as high as what you have there, so perhaps it differs. [And on that note...] Might I suggest learning in smaller heels first? You could seriously damage your ankles with those if you do not know how to walk in them properly.
