[Believe it or not, the cats are helping to get them out by this point. They do not fall prey to the sort of illusions foolish humans falter under! Alicia just wasn't going to leave without Slay, apparently. It all seems to be going pretty well.

[Allen hisses back to Sokka in a whisper]

Shhhh! Not so loud!

[What if he sics his feline friends on us??? GOD SOKKA]

[But he keeps following..since he has no other choice. At least it doesn't look like they are walking around in circles anymore. Maybe this was a magic cat]

I'm pretty sure he'll sacrifice us to the cat spirits if he hears us or not!

[This is so crazy, they are both gonna die.]

[Okay, he can't help himself, because he heard that. So he turns around, fixes his gaze on Sokka and Allen . . . and gives a super evil MUAHAHAHAH supervillain laugh.

Because he's a total dweeb.]

[sdfjklsdf LUDGER PLZ. That sure startles Allen! He gives a yelp and even jumps a little at the sudden loud evil laughter (especially since man nothing echos like a tunnel)]

[The sound that comes after that is close to a verbal keysmash] Ludger!

[Hi Allen. Guess who has just cling to you like a frightened limpet.]

[It's hilarious. Ludger has to laugh, like a normal person this time, because they're being ridiculous. He shakes his head at them and gives them a, "Really, guys?" look. Does he really look like a serial killer?

Ignore the hundreds of worlds he has destroyed.]

[No- no clinging! He's trying to get him off]

Sokka- let go of me!

[he gives a huff; trying to pretend Ludger didn't freak him out at all. Because that's uncool and childish and- he seems normal now right?? Right??]

[Sokka peels himself off and takes a deep breath.]

Ahahaha. Yeah. Funny. I wasn't fooled for a second.

[He'll brush himself off, act casual]

SO! We were heading off in that direction? Let's keep doing that.

[Ludger thinks he makes great jokes, okay. And so far, the cats are being very well-behaved. No more cats trying to find other cats. Here's hoping there are also no more hallucinations or other bad things as they follow kittens along.]

[He rolls his eyes and snorts at Sokka. YEAH SURE WHATEVER CAPTAIN]

[But he shoves his hands in his pockets and continues to follow the cats. This...yeah. still the weirdest thing he's done in awhile]

[Sokka just heaves a sigh and follows.]

This is officially the stupidest thing I have done all month. Just putting that out there.

[Ludger has to laugh at that. It is not the stupidest thing he has ever done.

But in the distance, echoing through the tunnels, he begins to hear a familiar hum, in a familiar voice. Ludger stops, ven as the cats keep walking without him. The song is coming from a tunnel that the cats are not taking. And it's definitely, definitely, definitely Julius's voice—]

[Ludger starts to run that way, which will turn him off the path and spit him out of the forest. Stop him if you dare.]

[He pauses when he hears that humming. That doesn't sound like a voice he recognizes. Which is...pretty worrying, in an enchanted forest]

[Even more worrying when Ludger dashes off]

Ludger?!

[Moving to go after him]

Ludger wait!

Let's NOT take the tunnel with the spooky humming. I don't believe I'm saying this, but let's follow the cats.

[Heading off after him too.]

Come on, you wanna follow the cats, right?

[He turns only so he can explain to them his urgency.] It's my brother's voice. [So don't they see? He has to go. He has to find his brother.]

[Okay, that's EXTRA worrisome because you know- everything with brothers singing tends to be terrible as far as Allen's concerned]

Ludger, why would your brother be humming in a tunnel in an enchanted forest in space?

[Sokka throws Allen a look that has strong measures of 'I TOLD you he was crazy!' ]

Yeah, I mean, come on. If he was brought here by Atroma, we would have seen him on the Marsavia, right? And if not, how would he be here otherwise? Unless this is your world and you neglected to tell us.

[twifork]

[Ludger shakes his head, because they're just not getting it.] Julius has done this before. He can move through fractured dimensions.

[So why wouldn't this be him?]

He...can? Um-

[Okay, he's turning to look at their captain. DO WE LET THIS CRAZY GUY GO FIND HIS DIMENSION HOPPING BROTHER, OR STOP HIM?]

[Sokka is going to make a judgement call. He sighs and heads quickly forward, putting a hand on Ludger's shoulder.]

Look. After all the...creepy singing and everything we've had, it might be a trap. Anything to get ratings, right? We can check it out, but we go together, and we go careful, okay? If it's a trap, we wanna be able to get out of there quick.

[He glances around them, then pulls one of the crappy freeze dried FLOOT LOOP bars out of his pack, opening it and crumbling some of it on the path.]

And we can figure out which way we've come, if we get turned around and have to leave in a hurry.

Thank you. [He is so sincere, so heartfelt, so relieved. With a hand against his chest where he has Julius's letter, he knows that he needs to speak to his brother. The letter Julius sends him feels like it burns in his pocket. He can't afford not to find him.

Encouraging the cats to go on ahead down the path they're taking, Ludger chooses the route that he hopes will lead him to his brother.]

[See, this is why Sokka is the captain and not Allen. It's not that Allen didn't care about his crewmates, but well- he was half of a mind to ditch Ludger and leave him to his mad antics. He was only there to save lives, not save them from insanity]

[But the captain's word is go, so he give a little sigh before he follows along Ludger and Sokka. He has a bad feeling about this, but...at least they can do this together. or something]

[Sokka follows, keeping alert for anything, glancing back and forth. Occasionally, he crumbles more Floot Loop bar, opening a new one as and when they need to. He hates the loss of food, but at least it means they probably won't get lost and die.]

[The thing is, the humming does lead them to Julius. And Ludger staggers to stillness as he looks at his brother, as his brother smiles back at him. Julius extends his hand to Ludger and tells him to come here, they have so much to talk about.

That would, of course, mean Ludger has to go right off the path.]
