[Furiosa has been thinking lately; unfocused, meandering, leisurely. It's been an adjustment being in an environment that is at the same time far more free and open than the society she'd come from, and yet with distinct and unbreakable limitations.]

[Sitting with Max in the park, helping to build and grow the gardens on the Iskalut, even just caring for her own little plant from Asteffiel, were in themselves little victories, prided moments.]

[She begins a video feed in the park, the camera focused on a crow as she tosses it bits of bread (that, alone, was different; having enough food that you could give it to such a feathered thief.]

What are your favorite parts of the station? Where do you want to visit one more time before we go?.

Th... The shops! [It took her a moment to summon up the courage to say as much about herself; the idea of voicing her likes and dislikes... it's still difficult for her, getting out of that slave mentality. She smiles wide, a bit unnaturally, like it's a trained trait. But soon she relaxes into it.] I like the ones with all kinds of different things. Many colors... Lots of cups and blankets and odd little toys and boardgames...

It's nice to walk and look at everything.

[Furiosa doesn't have much experience with pups who aren't the war kind, but after a moment of bemusement, her expression softens.]

It is nice. It's different, it's good. Do you have a favorite shop?

I do... have a favorite, I think. I don't know the name of it, because it's in a funny language... but it has a lot of cups, and blankets, and things like that. It has just about anything you'd want! I saw dolls, too, but... I don't know. I'm not little enough for dolls anymore, I think.

[She might have had one, when she was very, very little. But she can't be sure.

It's been a very long time.

She's eleven now. Is it even acceptable?]

I think I know what shop you're talking about. [She couldn't decipher the name of it, either.] It's got a lot of useful things in it.

[She also wasn't really afforded a childhood with dolls.]

Yes! I've never bought things for myself until I went there...

[smile!!!]

It was very intimidating! I've tried to save my credits for useful supplies for my ship...

[Furiosa hadn't bought things for herself either, or really at all, with the way her world had been. Now that she could, there wasn't much she felt she needed. Clothes, parts and tools for her prosthetic, nothing fancy.]

I'm sure your crew appreciates it. [Because ha that's what she's doing herself right now.]

I hope so... I - I would never want to do wrong by them, not ever!

They're kind to me, so I will always try to make them content.

Kind people are good people to find. [Her world was certainly lacking in them, she's glad this child could have kindness in her life.]

Yes! I wasn't sure I'd ever get to meet good people again...

But then I was saved! I ran away, and I met Mr. Tiger, and he... he was a little rough, because he was a fishman pirate — but he treated me better than the Nobles ever did! When I was with him and his crew, I felt safer... I remembered how to cry, and how to smile for real...

Now that I'm... free — [She says the word slow, careful, like it's a brand new word in her arsenal she doesn't know how to fire.] I hope to meet many, many more kind people.

[Furiosa just stares at the feed for a moment. The onslaught of information was sudden and, from such a small girl, too familiar in ways for the Imperator to react immediately. There's a bubbling anger that someone so young had to endure so much, an admiration that she achieved at a young age what took Furiosa years to do. Worlds differ, circumstances differ, but there's a strength there she can't deny, and wouldn't ever want to.]

[Her expression softens and she smiles at the girl.] You will. There's a few good people in this fleet. What's your name?

Thank you...! I'm Koala, miss.

[Are Koala's so far lost in the Australian wastelands that nobody would remember them? Questions to ask yourselves in the dead of night. Whatever the case, she continues merrily—]

What's your name?

[Koala. It does itch some ancient corner of her mind. Furiosa had read about them in one of the books in the Citadel, she could vaguely recall a picture. Otherwise known as Drop Bears. No ... deeper than that, she'd seen them. Once or twice, in the Green Place. There's the space of a couple measured breaths before she replies.]

Furiosa. What, uh. What ship are you stationed on? [In case she feels the need to check up on little Drop Bears in the future.]

[Yup that's me, the Drop Bear.]

I'm on board the Huntress, miss! It's a very nice ship.

Do you have a nice ship as well?

[Little Drop Bear. It's official.]

I am. The First Breath. Hae you been in the fleet long?

A few months I've been told! Is is the same for you?

Pretty much. I'll be heading up to a year here, soon.

An entire year, miss?!

Oh, that's so long! How did you pass so much time?

Upgrading the rig, making patrols, checking out the planets and waystations when they're around. [Getting sick, chasing warboys, you know. Normal stuff.]

[Ah...!]

I haven't been to a planet, yet. Have they been nice?

[Furiosa shrugs.] One was like my home, the other was ... far too cold.

Oh, I don't like the cold. Did it have ice? I hate ice, because it's so slippery...

There was ice; lots of it. It left me sick.

That's no good at all... Ice is very slippery!

I hope you didn't fall. But being sick is horrible, too... I've gotten sick a few times, but it's usually a very bad idea, because you don't get to rest and take the afternoon off if you're ill.

That's why it's important to stay fit.

[Of course she fell; she was a desert dweller on ice for the first time. Not that she has to tell anyone that.]

You can take time off here. [Granted she parked it in the Captain's Chair so she'd be able to react if something came up and still made herself available to the crew, but if she'd wanted to lock her door and sleep it off, she could have done that too.]

[She fidgets for a moment.]

I... guess I can... It just. It feels very wrong.

I don't know how to explain it. But it makes me nervous...
