[Furiosa has been thinking lately; unfocused, meandering, leisurely. It's been an adjustment being in an environment that is at the same time far more free and open than the society she'd come from, and yet with distinct and unbreakable limitations.]

[Sitting with Max in the park, helping to build and grow the gardens on the Iskalut, even just caring for her own little plant from Asteffiel, were in themselves little victories, prided moments.]

[She begins a video feed in the park, the camera focused on a crow as she tosses it bits of bread (that, alone, was different; having enough food that you could give it to such a feathered thief.]

The park, I think. Having such peace in the middle of urban chaos is... a good balance, I think.

The Earth is poisoned; it's a wasteland in all directions. Pockets of civilization are violent. I think we have vastly different ways of enjoying grass.

[She's gotten a little more used to his antics, but really every conversation she has with him is another exercise in culture shock.]

The library, absolutely! I'm gonna be so sad when we have to leave that behind. I'm trying to read as much of it as we can before we depart, just so I can keep as much of it in my head as possible.

That's quite an undertaking. [It was much larger by many times than the only other library she'd known.] How many have you read so far?

Let's see...at least forty-two volumes cover to cover, but I've also been doing a lot of jobs since I got here. I haven't been able to go there as often as I'd like. [he reads fast don't mind him] I wonder if any of the digital books we check out will still be accessible for the rental period even after we depart?

Well, so far the data I've collected has stayed on my comm! But I'm not sure if I trust it to stay. Plus, I learn things a lot better if I write it down and figure it out on my own.

[It's a bit of extra work, sure, but it's worth it to fully understand the more complicated parts of the information he reads.]

I'm indifferent to the snow levels. I mostly just want to get to a real world, with wind and open skies and open ground.

It's not a place, but it's been nice to work with people outside the Fleet. [She's not sure she'll miss any one location in comparison to that.]

It is nice to get some diversity. [It's still a new concept to her. All these new people - both on the station and within the Fleet - who aren't actively trying to kill them. She's already a few months into her stay and it's still something she reflects on often. And appreciates.]

What kind of work do you do on the station?

Negotiation. Some of it is diplomatic work, but you'd be surprised how many people just want someone to help them settle disputes.

Th... The shops! [It took her a moment to summon up the courage to say as much about herself; the idea of voicing her likes and dislikes... it's still difficult for her, getting out of that slave mentality. She smiles wide, a bit unnaturally, like it's a trained trait. But soon she relaxes into it.] I like the ones with all kinds of different things. Many colors... Lots of cups and blankets and odd little toys and boardgames...

It's nice to walk and look at everything.

[Furiosa doesn't have much experience with pups who aren't the war kind, but after a moment of bemusement, her expression softens.]

It is nice. It's different, it's good. Do you have a favorite shop?

I do... have a favorite, I think. I don't know the name of it, because it's in a funny language... but it has a lot of cups, and blankets, and things like that. It has just about anything you'd want! I saw dolls, too, but... I don't know. I'm not little enough for dolls anymore, I think.

[She might have had one, when she was very, very little. But she can't be sure.

It's been a very long time.

She's eleven now. Is it even acceptable?]
