[Another month, another mingle. Once again, any visitors on the ship should bear in mind that there are locks installed all over the ship, so someone on board's gotta let you in. Or you can just stand there. And stare. And hope someone takes pity on you.]

[ look it's either delicately admit that this is traumatizing af or bluntly say it like it's no big deal that one of his closer friends here almost died WE ALL KNOW WHICH OPTION ZUKO IS TAKING ]

What were they trying to do?

[ zuko knows allen knows, but -- he pauses, before continuing. ]

I didn't trust myself to go ask in person.

[ read: greed is going to die :) ]

[Yeah he's...not gonna disagree Zuko not going to ask in person. Zuko was not best with mild mannered diplomacy and Greed was like a cornered animal. Hell, Allen sure would've phoned it in if he could sense souls over the network.]

Greed refused to say...but from the sound of his yelling, I'm betting they were trying to get back to their world and it backfired.

[ there's a silence, at that, and zuko sighs, sinking further into his chair, reaching out to scoop up aguri and roll the statue between his hands ]

Al knew that he would get his body back, eventually, at home.

[ finally, with a slight frown ]

I'll talk to him when he wakes up.

[ when, not if. ]

Yeah, I plan to have a chat with him too.

[It'll go something like HEY DON'T BE A DUMBASS. Still...the way Zuko is talking]

I'm guessing he was a friend of yours in Adstringdeum too?

Yeah.

[ zuko almost considers leaving it there, but -- well. that seems a little rude, so he continues. ]

He was older, and had his body back. I only knew it was him because he asked for his brother, Edward, when he got here. And I've seen the armor before, but I've never... met him like this, before now.

He had his body back...?

[Zuko had said that before, but it only sinks in now]

That's pretty...incredible. [He moves to rub his forehead] He reads a lot like an Akuma does, just without the skin. And...there's never any coming back from that.

Their world is a mess. It's a military dictatorship -- or it was, the last time I heard. Maybe things are different now.

[ with a slight shrug, and zuko places aguri back on the desk ]

And alchemy, the power that they use, can do incredible things. In the wrong hands, it's disastrous. But it can do some incredible things, too. I've seen Al and his brother create cannons out of a pile of random elements, and they function.

[He eyes Aguri for a moment. Wait. Was there a time that thing wasn't on the desk? Creepy.........]

[But moving on]

Mm, alchemy is used a little in my world too...or something like it. [Whatever the Science Division does really.] Though, I think their power with it is stronger than my world's. The only person I know who can do what was done with Alphonse's soul and armour is the Earl.

[So...he is quite unsure how to feel about Ed's special power there.]

You do stupid things for family, I guess.

[ at least, from what zuko knows about how alphonse lost his body in the first place. it's a sibling thing. ]

His brother isn't a bad person. Stubborn, and loud. But he's tolerable. And his skill is useful, when it works. [ unlike whatever the hell happened there ] I have no idea why Al trusted someone like Greed instead of coming to someone he actually trusted. [ like zuko ] Greed isn't like the rest of them.

Yeah...

[look it's just hard getting over the notion that it's a little horrific someone has this power at all. OKAY? But okay sure, Al's brother can be a good person...]

Don't ask me why he trusted Greed. My head is still pounding from sensing him. [Seriously part of him is still not sure why he can't kill him]

[ ... oh, right. allen and his weird exorcist powers. ]

[ curious; zuko knows a bit about ed and al's world, but he hadn't met greed in adstringendum. ]

[ zuko stares for a long moment before groaning, tilting back in his chair, looking... suitably exasperated ]
