because no one should go hungry
Who: Ramse, Sascha, Bigby + any curious Starstruck
Broadcast: n/a
Action: the Starstruck
When: now
[ It's been about two weeks since Ramse first met Sascha and he figures the kid's probably hungry again. But after all that talk of venom, he's doing things his way. He's talked his way into some medical equipment and draws his own blood into a thermos he bought on the space station, then sends Sascha a private message:
Sascha, meet me outside the Starstruck again.
That should be curiosity-inducing enough to get the puppypire to scoot on over.

Yeah, I'm fine, just a little tired.
We don't have a med bay so I borrowed some supplies from another ship. And then I fed a vampire. He's more like a puppy, really. A clingy puppy. The dog's less clingy. Shaggy guy is his keeper, I guess.
[ What on earth is he talking about? Whatever, she smells nice, he's burying his face in her hair. ]

You fed a vampire. [She could get self-righteous about his safety and the risk involved in that and all those good things, but...]
What was it like?
[... she's Celeste.]

[ His head drops back to the pillow and the shoulder she's on shrugs a little bit. When he speaks again his voice is softer and she can tell he's thinking back to something. ]
It was hard enough living it, I can't watch anyone go hungry. We must all look like steaks on legs to him after awhile, you know? Someone should be feeding him.

Caleb, what did you do to this girl.
As Ramse continues, though, she gets a small, affectionate smile on her face, and leans in just enough to press a kiss to his cheek.]
You're sweet. It still surprises me sometimes, how sweet you really are. The puppy's quite lucky to have you, I don't know many people who would be that magnanimous about feeding the starving when it had to come from their own body. Regardless of what they'd lived through.

Sweet... [ He makes a little 'tch' sound, but he's smiling at her. ] Between the two of you people will think I've gone soft.
What have you been up to, anyway? Get a job on the station?

[Are you surprised, though, Ramse. Are you really surprised. It's all said as casual as you please, and she continues right on without so much as a pause for breath.]
I've mostly been meeting people. It's the best part of places like this, the people. The arsehole quotient is somehow always much lower than at home.

[ The job's exactly what he was avoiding in Eudio but it was easy to get once he said he was ship security and he's good at it. He makes a cut of the night's tips as well as his pay, and doesn't need that much money. All he wants it for is to eat well while they're still on the station, since when they leave he knows they'll start getting deposits in their bank accounts again. No reason to squirrel it away.
He's going to pay off this loan shark one way or another, Celeste, might as well tell him. ]
Met anyone interesting, then? My ship's got all kinds.

[She settles a bit closer to him, getting more comfortable, and grins up at the ceiling.]
Oh, very interesting. I've got a bloke who comes and sleeps in my bunk sometimes, but he never tries anything at all - he only wants a cuddle. It was nice, actually, when you weren't here and I was still missing Caleb so horribly. [She still is, of course, and that makes her face twist for a moment, but she carries on.] I've met princesses and nobles, gods, all manner of aliens, a wonderful man from the 1940s who talks like he's in a film noir all the time... I hardly know where to begin with them.

[ He doesn't care how 'nice' the loan shark is, it's still a loan shark. ]
....just wants a cuddle, huh? Sounds like my vampire puppy. [ She mentions Caleb and Ramse rubs her back soothingly, consolingly. He misses Sheva terribly too. ] You've met way more than I have. I guess I work too much. At least I finally know everybody on my ship?
