all aboard the ss blamless

Who: Crew of the SS Blameless and visitors.
Broadcast: Nope
Action: SS Blameless
When: March, or until we feel like a new one.

[It's a mingle! Get out of the car!

Unique ship notes for new crew and visitors: giant, unmissable scorch marks currently line the walls of several corridors leading from the cargo hold to the bridge!

Also, thanks to Kate, we now have a SWEARS AND ATTITUDES JAR displayed prominently in the kitchen. Whenever someone's being naughty instead of nice, they're compelled to deposit a few credits (or at least an iou) into the awaiting jar.

Also also, we are all still bunking together. HAVE FUN.]

Grand theft...? [What the Jar-Jar is 'auto'?]

Oh, I'm not going anywhere in particular. I want to test this thing's capabilities.

Auto. It's a video game about stealing cars and becoming a criminal. [and...probably other things, but video games were never her scene.] Right up your alley, apparently.

[but it's not a bad idea, so she walks around to let herself in the passenger side.]

Planning on making a lot of quick getaways?

No, not really, but... it's always good to be prepared, you know? [Luke clicks the door safety button, and begins backing the shuttle out of the cargo bay. It makes a beeping noise to warn anyone behind them, and Luke rolls his eyes.] I don't think this hunk of junk could get away from anything. [Whiiiine.]

[if he's going to be complaining the whole time, this is...going to actually be a fun trip. it's sort of like watching a puppy bark at his own reflection.]

You never know when it might come in handy. [even if she's starting to wonder if she can run faster than this thing.] Anything can, at the right time. And in the right place.
t65: (well that was close)

[personal profile] t65 2016-03-10 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
You sound like a smuggler. [Luke says, as they slowly, slowly back out of the cargo bay.] My best friend had little catches and secret compartments stored all over his ship for 'just in case'. They only came in handy once, though; the rest of the time, he'd just lose things in them.

[personal profile] revivo 2016-03-10 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
A smuggler, huh. I like the sound of that.

[she hooks an arm over the top of her seat, angling herself sideways to watch their glacial progress.]

But when you needed them, he was prepared. That's what counts. One time's all it takes. [CONSTANT VIGILANCE. and because, seriously -- ] Are you sure you didn't leave the brakes on? There's slow, and there's slow.

That sounds a little paranoid, don't you think? [Luke will hold your flower, Sara.]

[He frowns, and pokes at some of the controls. With a careening lurch, the shuttle blasts out of the pod bay doors like a bullet out of a gun. Luke manages to stop the thing before they crash into anything, but it's a near thing from how close they get to the wall of a building on the station. Hovering in the air, Luke stares at the controls with a look of pure stupefaction.]

Why would you put the break there?! These controls are terrible! I'm going to have to fix all of this when we get back.
revivo: (three.)

[personal profile] revivo 2016-03-13 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
It's not paranoia if it's true.

[she says, and flashes him a brief look that's half-smile half-challenge. paranoia keeps you alive, okay. and after the hell slade wilson just put starling -- just put oliver -- through, it's hard not to be a little paranoid. nothing like having old enemies who'd like nothing better than to kill you and your loved ones coming to town to execute sick master plans to make a person feel safe.

but never mind all that, luke's almost getting them killed plenty well on his own. sara's free arm shoots out for balance, slamming against the front window -- and, apparently, the button for the a/c. there's a full blast of cold air in their faces as they hover. there's also a radio, which plays about three bars of something bright and alien and peppy before sara jabs it back off.]

You do that. [a beat.] In the meantime, I'm driving.
t65: (i mean it's the wrong lightsaber)

[personal profile] t65 2016-03-15 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
No, no, I've got it now... [Luke doesn't even budge, assuming token disagreement will be enough to keep him in the pilot's seat. He taps a few controls, and the shuttle whirls pleasantly-- if slowly-- in the other direction.] Where do you want to go?
revivo: (ten.)

[personal profile] revivo 2016-03-15 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[luke must be getting used to her long judgy stares by now. surely. but she decides she doesn't want to pick this fight; honestly, it's not like sara knows anything about flying shuttles besides whatever her handy-dandy augment has to tell her. at his question, she shrugs.]

Driver's choice. [not picking the fight doesn't mean she isn't going to hassle him, however.] I'm just here for the free ride.
t65: (sad bowlcut in swamp)

[personal profile] t65 2016-03-16 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
How about... oh, what's that? [He starts the shuttle toward a bright blue tower arching off into the misty distance. In a language Luke doesn't recognize, it advertises... something in flashing neon.]
revivo: (two.)

[personal profile] revivo 2016-03-16 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
[sara leans forward, eyes narrowing; she can see the lights too, but alien languages are not, sadly, among those she knows.]

I don't know. My job's on the other side of town. [buuuut if she had to guess:] Might be one of the casinos.
t65: (yoda ur such a dick)

[personal profile] t65 2016-03-16 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Only one way to find out! [Luke pulls a gear, and the ship putters slightly faster toward the tower. As they get closer, it becomes clear that the tower is meant to be an azure line of water spouting out of the back of a blue whale-shaped building. Luke lowers the shuttle into where the other speeders and hoppers are landing-- its gaping mouth.] Never seen a building like this before...
revivo: (thirteen.)

[personal profile] revivo 2016-03-16 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[um.]

A whale. [um. okay, now she's seen it all.] I'm pretty sure I've seen this movie before. Didn't end too well for them.

[but that doesn't stop her from getting out as soon as they stop, watching the steady stream of people going in. no one seems to take much notice of them, save for one particularly tall alien that glances at her, double-takes, and then hurries off.]
t65: (c:)

[personal profile] t65 2016-03-17 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
A whale? [He looks up with curiosity, either not seeing or ignoring Sara's little staring contest with the alien.] Are they native to your planet?

[It's pleasant conversation as he walks toward the crowd mulling at the entrance.]
revivo: (nine.)

[personal profile] revivo 2016-03-17 11:17 am (UTC)(link)
Not just mine if they know about 'em here, [remarked, as they get closer to the entrance.] They live in oceans. You know, like the one you saw.

[""saw."" she manages to convey air quotes without actually gesturing. there's a sign near the gaping mouth, lit up like the spout of water overhead, and pamphlets stacked on a table. she picks one of those up, opening the glossy folded paper and canting her head.]

Well. It's not a casino.
t65: (the star wars comedy hour.)

[personal profile] t65 2016-03-20 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Your oceans must be huge... [Maybe as big as deserts.] It seems like some kind of... amusement. For adults only. [He points to an age requirement in shining yellow letters.] I'm sure you can handle it.
revivo: (ten.)

[personal profile] revivo 2016-03-20 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[she.

turns to look at him.]

Do I look like I can't handle it?
