all aboard the ss blamless
Who: Crew of the SS Blameless and visitors.
Broadcast: Nope
Action: SS Blameless
When: March, or until we feel like a new one.
[It's a mingle! Get out of the car!
Unique ship notes for new crew and visitors: giant, unmissable scorch marks currently line the walls of several corridors leading from the cargo hold to the bridge!
Also, thanks to Kate, we now have a SWEARS AND ATTITUDES JAR displayed prominently in the kitchen. Whenever someone's being naughty instead of nice, they're compelled to deposit a few credits (or at least an iou) into the awaiting jar.
Also also, we are all still bunking together. HAVE FUN.]

luckily for everyone involved, sara just stills instead of any other very unfortunate possibility; and then she crosses her arms, taking a few steps closer to look the shuttle over.]
If you're going to Grand Theft Auto that thing, you probably shouldn't announce it. [never mind that it is theirs.] Where are you going?
Re: c
Oh, I'm not going anywhere in particular. I want to test this thing's capabilities.

[but it's not a bad idea, so she walks around to let herself in the passenger side.]
Planning on making a lot of quick getaways?

You never know when it might come in handy. [even if she's starting to wonder if she can run faster than this thing.] Anything can, at the right time. And in the right place.

[she hooks an arm over the top of her seat, angling herself sideways to watch their glacial progress.]
But when you needed them, he was prepared. That's what counts. One time's all it takes. [CONSTANT VIGILANCE. and because, seriously -- ] Are you sure you didn't leave the brakes on? There's slow, and there's slow.

[He frowns, and pokes at some of the controls. With a careening lurch, the shuttle blasts out of the pod bay doors like a bullet out of a gun. Luke manages to stop the thing before they crash into anything, but it's a near thing from how close they get to the wall of a building on the station. Hovering in the air, Luke stares at the controls with a look of pure stupefaction.]
Why would you put the break there?! These controls are terrible! I'm going to have to fix all of this when we get back.

[she says, and flashes him a brief look that's half-smile half-challenge. paranoia keeps you alive, okay. and after the hell slade wilson just put starling -- just put oliver -- through, it's hard not to be a little paranoid. nothing like having old enemies who'd like nothing better than to kill you and your loved ones coming to town to execute sick master plans to make a person feel safe.
but never mind all that, luke's almost getting them killed plenty well on his own. sara's free arm shoots out for balance, slamming against the front window -- and, apparently, the button for the a/c. there's a full blast of cold air in their faces as they hover. there's also a radio, which plays about three bars of something bright and alien and peppy before sara jabs it back off.]
You do that. [a beat.] In the meantime, I'm driving.

Driver's choice. [not picking the fight doesn't mean she isn't going to hassle him, however.] I'm just here for the free ride.

I don't know. My job's on the other side of town. [buuuut if she had to guess:] Might be one of the casinos.

A whale. [um. okay, now she's seen it all.] I'm pretty sure I've seen this movie before. Didn't end too well for them.
[but that doesn't stop her from getting out as soon as they stop, watching the steady stream of people going in. no one seems to take much notice of them, save for one particularly tall alien that glances at her, double-takes, and then hurries off.]

[It's pleasant conversation as he walks toward the crowd mulling at the entrance.]

[""saw."" she manages to convey air quotes without actually gesturing. there's a sign near the gaping mouth, lit up like the spout of water overhead, and pamphlets stacked on a table. she picks one of those up, opening the glossy folded paper and canting her head.]
Well. It's not a casino.

turns to look at him.]
Do I look like I can't handle it?
