How'd it get like that?

The atmosphere started poisonous and the first settlers started the terraforming. But everything went wrong during the war.

[She frowns in confusion.] Terraforming? What's that?

That's when you take a planet that nothing can live on and alter the atmosphere and stuff so it'll be like Earth.

Wow! People can do that? No kiddin'!

Yeah, it's like... really technical and lots of scientists have to work on it and there are huge machines involves and stuff.

Well go figure. Guess maybe one day we will live on Mars after all. Already found out aliens are real so... [She shrugs.]

Oh yeah, totally. There's a bunch of colonies in the Sol system before people ever moved out to further systems. Cause it takes way longer to travel and they had to invent... jump gates and stuff.

So did you originally come from Earth then? Or I mean, your people?

Oh yeah, I'm human and all. We're a colony world of Earth. Just really far away from it.

Earth's... still a thing though, right?

I guess? I assume so. We lost communications with the other systems... a long time ago. When the Crash happened. Terrorists took our communications array out. No one's come to check on us, but it's likely that they're still okay.

This is just so much to wrap my head around.

Then again, I guess my version of Earth is pretty damn weird compared to a lot of people's here.

I guess? They all sound weird to me because everyone from Earth seems to come from really long ago and I don't remember anything from history class. [Or even taking classes at all.]

That's so cool. Yeah, I don't think we have anything like that. I kind of wonder if mine is weirder cause we don't? Like there are people who can do special things from Vision's home and a lot of other ones...

Yeah but Vision's not magic. I'd be able to tell if he was. Same with Kitty. There's science and stuff with them.

Yeah, I can usually tell if they're using white or black magic too, so I know if we gotta watch out for someone.

Might be. The only colors I know are white, black, and green, but that don't mean that there aren't any others.

What do different colors of magic do?

Wow, I wish I had pink magic. That would be so cool.

Black magic is for death and destruction, white magic for life and creation, and green magic is for nature and growth.

[She tilts her head.]

I don't know what pink magic would be for, if it exists. Love maybe?

Love and cute things maybe? Art?

[She snorts.]

I don't think any of us were very good at those things, even without magic. Maybe it's why we never discovered pink magic.
