Does that make you stronger whenever they tell your story...? [ That's the conclusion he's able to draw from this, more curious than anything else as he leans forward on his elbows on the counter. ]

It makes us more immortal.

[Not stronger, exactly. It makes their story stronger and that gives them power. Bigby is unstoppable. Because there is always a wolf and that wolf is always him. There is nothing he cannot hunt down, there is no force that can make him stop his hunt.]

More us. Charming becomes more persuasive, more skilled at overcoming challenges in the pursuit of what he wants. Cinderella gets more determined. Snow can and will survive anything life throws at her.

Totenkinder, one of our witches, she's a crone. She's worming her way into becoming the archetype, to gain more power. We've managed to stop her doing that shit so far.

What happens to you if more people tell your story...?

I become more me. And I'm already immortal. Even moreso than most Fables.

[bb_wolf]

My stories aren't very nice. I am the bad guy. I eat people, hunt little pigs, all that stuff.

[pneumo]

Well...I eat people too, sorta. But I'm not bad! Ad neither are you, you're super-nice to me. [ Compared to the treatment he's received elsewhere, Bigby's a saint. ]

[bb_wolf]

No, I'm not super nice. You have terrible standards for people being nice to you. Some of the worst I've ever seen, and I know prostitutes who have pimps that beat them and they thank them for it.

[He gets up and pulls out the tray from the oven with gloves. He sets it down and gets two plates out, serving up the meat. About a third on one plate, the rest on another and he slides the smaller portion to Sascha.]

Wait until you have cutlery, then you can eat.

[pneumo]

[ Whose eyes widen upon realizing he's going to get a share, practically sparkling. ]

C, cutlery?? [ But...he has fangs. They can chew through this no problem why does he have to use cutleryyyyyy ]

[bb_wolf]

Yes.

[He had to learn to use the fucking things. It's part of appearing human.]

You want to not be chased by mobs brandishing torches and lasers guns. You need to seem to be one of them, or at least, seem to be not a dangerous predator.

[He comes back and slaps down the knife and fork before taking a seat.]

Do you know how to use them?

[ Sascha gives them a slight loo, weighing his confidence on the matter. ]

...I've never used them, but I've seen people use them!

[bb_wolf]

[He figured.

He picks up his own, showing Sascha how he's holding them.]

Watch. Fork. Knife. Use the fork to stop the food sliding away, knife to cut a small piece off. Then use the fork to pick up the piece and eat it.

[He demonstrates.]

[pneumo]

[ That seems simple enough...so clearly, it can't be that hard. Right? Sascha will fumble a bit as he tries to copy the exact way that Bigby holds his knife first, trying with his fork next.

He winds up holding both in his fists rather than perfectly, but hey it's a start right? ]

[bb_wolf]

[It's a start. Bigby will teach him better when there isn't food that could be eaten. And it's got him slowing down how he eats, rather than shoving as much into himself as he can, as fast as he can.]

Remember, this is what humans do. Cut off small pieces, chew them thoroughly. They don't hold it in their hands and tear it with their teeth.

[pneumo]

But that works so much better than this... [ And feels better to boot. He's always loved the feel of tearing and chewing. Having to try and cut stuff off is weird--and hard. But mostly because he's trying to just apply pressure rather than use a sawing motion. ]

[bb_wolf]

[Bigby sighs.]

It doesn't matter what feels good, or works better. You have to pretend to be people, or they'll hunt you. Blend in. Don't let them see the predator inside, it scares them and humans attack things that scare them.

The knife is for sawing, not hacking. Watch.

[He does it slow and deliberate to let Sascha see better.]

[pneumo]

I know... [ Sascha sighs and droops some, but does his best to copy Bigby even though his own movements won't be anywhere near as practised or coordinated. He's doing his best though and manages to cut off a portion that's only a little too big. ]

[bb_wolf]

[Bigby nods approvingly. He recognises the honest attempt, rather than berating not getting it perfect immediately. He knows how long opposable thumbs took him to master, let alone the intricacies of social niceties.]

Better. Bit big, but that's a start. You manage to eat half with the knife and fork, you can eat the rest how you want.

[pneumo]

--!! Yes sir! [ Well if that isn't motivation nothing is. Sascha might try to eat his piece a bit too quickly, but he's just as enthusiastic and eager to try making his next the appropriate size and fiddle with them. ]

[bb_wolf]

[Good enough. Bigby eats slowly, because it will encourage Sascha (maybe) to not rush. Eating is about more than just getting good into your mouth and stomach. You should enjoy it.]

See what I mean about heated up is better than cold?

[pneumo]

[ He nods with enthusiasm, smiling despite the red lacing his lips now thanks to the warmed meat. ]

Mmhm! [ he slows down here at least, so that's something. ] I love it when it's warm~~~~

[Bigby looks slightly smug and nods.]

That is why you should eat it warmed. Tastes better, feels better, sits better.

[pneumo]

I'd love to eat a live animal like this.... [ Like a pheasant or a hare. Those would be exceptionally tasty right now. ]

[bb_wolf]

Don't eat them alive. Kill them, then eat them. One, it stops them struggling. Two, they still feel pain, no need to be cruel.

[It took him a long time to understand the idea that other things communicated and hurt. It didn't come naturally.]

Oh...yeah, that's true. I don't like hearing them when they sound hurt. [ It's better when one just goes in for the kill and ends it quick. ] I once made that mistake with a rabbit. It was awful.
