A year, huh... [Jennifer looks distant and sounds a little sad.] How... [She hesitates.] If you've been here for a while, what kinds of things do you do to cope when you're really, really missing home? Because I've been thinking about my friends back home a lot lately, and having been the only person from my world here this entire time... [She trails off, and decides to just wait for responses.]

Nah, not really. They always know how to boost me up when I'm feeling mopey, too. So I'll just have to think- how would they handle this?

Hmm, how about having a fun night with a not all that well known acquaintance?

I'll take it. I need to make more friends here.

Great! No one is using our shuttle. I could take us to the Iskaulit, or either of our ships, or one of the stations around here.

Although, I admit, our ship like many these days are a bit crowded at the moment. Although I do have a room and a pack a card we could waste a few hours with.

Actually, a pack of cards would be delightful. There's plenty of room on the Iskaulit- I'd offer my ship, since it has a lot of amenities, but we've got a fox who's still being trained not to rip everything apart.

Sure I can meet you there or would you like me to pick you up on the way?

And you have a fox? Did you get him from one of the planets we visited?

Why not be a gentleman and come and get me? I'd like that.

Yeah, on the snow planet- Jade took one home as a pet.

Then I shall be by in a few minutes! [The camera moves and shakes as Vash heads for their ship's shuttle.]

Oh yeah! I remember them! They were pretty cute.

Even if they do need obedience lessons. [And Jennifer will be waiting in the cargo bay of the Wonderduck when he arrives.]

[Vash shows up and parks the shuttle effortlessly.] Welcome aboard, m'lady! Where do you wish to go?

[Jennifer had to grin as she got inside.]

Shall we cruise around the stars a bit? I do miss doing that back home...

Sure! Would you like to take the wheel for a bit?

Sure, why not? [And once they were settled and out in space...] ... Thanks for taking the time to keep me company. Even though there's so many people around, it does get lonely sometimes.

Hey, making company out in space helps it not feel so empty. So I may have selfish motives behind this visit. I don't know many people who enjoy being alone all the time.

In that case, I can't really think of it as a selfish motivation, then- or you're not any more selfish than I am for taking you up on your offer. It's a huge world out there, but at least everyone on the Fleet does have our presence here in common.

[Vash nods along as she speaks.] Space is breathtaking. And it's amazing just how much is out there, but still, even knowing that there are worlds full of people out there I always hated how lonely and empty space can feel.

It really is... and I was lucky enough to be able to experience it back home. But even then, I never felt alone because all of my friends were always with me. They were the first group of people I feel like I ever belonged with... and on days like today, when I realize I've been here for a year, I miss being able to experience things like this with them more than anything. It's times like these that I DO need to be reminded that I'm not alone most of all.

[Vash reaches over in his seat to place his hand on Jenny's shoulder. Physical contact was something he preferred himself.] You have a whole fleet who care for you. I hope you never forget that. [Okay, so maybe not the whole fleet, but he's going for the grandeur at the moment.]

[Jennifer smiled softly at the touch and nodded.]

And I can continue doing what I love most here, too- helping people. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Well, with what seems like more and more people showing up here everyday, they sure could use help and a friendly face I'm sure.

Yeah, it was getting pretty hectic there for a while, wasn't it? And then it slowed down to almost nothing. I wonder if there's any reason for it?

No reason I've been able to figure out. It just seems so random to me, but I just get this feeling it's not actually random.

Like Atroma's doing it in purpose, just to keep us on our toes?

Or maybe spontaneously arriving and leaving affects the ratings. I really don't know.

I wouldn't put anything past them at this point. I keep trying to figure them out, but it always leads to dead ends.
