[The feed cuts in to the arrival fanfare. The feed watches a blond boy lay on the floor of the Tourist, covered in confetti, asleep with his face in the plate of celebratory pudding.

The fanfare does not wake him.

The pudding does not wake him.

Someone should probably wake him.]

[He stares at that feed for a long bit.]

Is...he alive?

[it cuts after a minute, and another minute later it comes back. he is very much still pudding-covered.]

... Yes?

[oh god he looks so confused and embarrassed]

[He was poking at his communicator when the video popped up. He straightens up in his chair when he sees it come back on]

Oh! It moved!

What do you mean, "it"?

Hm? Oh nothing.

[Is he going to answer that? Not likely!]

You got pudding all over your face, you know.

Is that what this stuff is?

[He prods at it a little bit, then attempts to wipe a little more off.]

[No idea what pudding is? Aw, must be someone from a boondock world or something]

Yeah. It's made out of chocolate.

Chocolate...

[Hey, it's on his hand anyway. He licks it.]

... That's not bad.

Yeah. It's even better if you don't sleep in it!

I didn't fall asleep in it! I fell asleep in this big room...

Then you got brought to your new ship, still asleep. Got it.

You got confetti in your hair, by the way.

... It's in my hair?

[He reaches up with his clean hand, and--oh, yep, that sure is paper.]

Aww, come on... What is this even all for?

They do it every time someone gets sent to a new ship. Guess it's their way of marking the occasion.

... Oh...

[He frowns at the paper.]

So I missed my own party?

I...guess, if you want to think of it that way.

It sounds like most people don't.

[He looks back at the comm.]

Why not?

I dunno- maybe the whole fact we've been kidnapped is a real mood killer for folks.

Kidnapped?

[... huh.]

... I guess that doesn't matter as much to me. I was doing something important, but it... kind of got ruined.

Did it get ruined before or after you got kidnapped?

Before. It's a long story.

[He's definitely eating more of this pudding.]
