[Bigby found out about the Iskaulit. Namely, that it is large and has big, open spaces.

Big enough for him. And so his clothes are hidden away safely and there's a giant wolf on the loose, exploring everything.

And not frolicking. He's hundreds upon hundreds of years old. He's definitely not frolicking or anything like it.]

We have rules. Never let the mundanes know what you are. And I can't afford the magic it would take to hide this much bulk.

And I don't fit. My apartment isn't much bigger than a couple of bunkrooms.

Makes sense. Though you didn't answer my other question. You can't exactly fit through the door of the bar in that form.

I have clothes around here, yeah. Humans are funny about naked humans.

We're weird like that. Well, whenever you get done frolicking, there's a bottle of whiskey in here with your name on it.

[bb_wolf]

Seriously weird.

[ He pauses. He likes being him and having space. But a whiskey sounds rather nice... ]

Give me a few to get dressed.

[ He starts padding off in the direction of his clothing. ]

[Hey, you can always drink and go straight back to frolicking. Nami watches him go, and then retreats back to the bar. By the time he arrives, she'll be pouring him out a whiskey.]

[ He comes in mostly dressed, rolling his tie up and sliding it into his pocket. He's used to wearing it, but it's only now sinking in that he doesn't actually need to.

He sits by the bar, giving Nami a nod. He making small movements, like someone dressed in new clothes, trying to get them to settle on right.

And then he taps out a cigarette, offering her the pack.]

Welcome. [She shakes her head a little at the cigarette offer. Not a smoker.]

They should offer you a job as a bouncer. Nobody's gonna cause trouble with a gigantic wolf staring in over their shoulder.

[ He lights up with practiced ease. ]

Don't think there's ever much trouble or need for a bouncer.

You'd be surprised. All it takes is for one asshole to come through the Marsiva. These places like to descend into chaos at the drop of a hat.

[She's not altogether serious about the bouncing stuff though.]

[bb_wolf]

Hey, I know it. I was a Sheriff back home. One asshole and the next thing you know, you've got an angry troll, axes everywhere and Gren trying to redecorate the place in booze and blood.

[namisan]

Sounds like your average pirate bar. [Sounds like a headache to be a Sheriff there tbh. At least pirates can just skulk out the back door and leave the mess behind.] This Gren sounds pretty bloodthirsty.

[bb_wolf]

Gren's a fucking pain in my ass. He's not allowed to work in the Mundy world because he can't keep his fucking temper, goes breaking his glamour and then we have to try and clean up with memory wiping.

And while Gren is a pain in the ass, when he changes back to Grendel, he's a pain in the ass AND smells like a fucking rancid swamp.

[Yeah most of that went over her head, but she thinks she follows the general concept. Especially when she thinks of Bigby trying to hide that he's a huge ass wolf.]

Memory wiping, huh? [That's kind of creepy to think about, though.] What would happen if you didn't do that?

[bb_wolf]

Yeah. First rule of the Exile. The Mundys can never know about us.

We live, now, in a world with no magic and a lot of paranoia and violence. If they knew we existed... they would hunt us, torture us for science, hound us, start demanding magic solutions for things...

No. [ He takes a long drink. ]

They can't know. We deserve to live in peace.

[Well, when you put it like that...]

Sounds like memory loss is the nicest thing you can do to protect yourselves, then. It's a pity such a skill doesn't exist in our world. [At least-- well, there's probably one jerk out there who can rearrange memories. Such is the nature of devil fruits.]

[bb_wolf]

We prefer to just stay out of sight, but accidents happen. We try to minimise accidents by doing things like not letting Gren work for mundys.

[ He takes a long, slow drag of his cigarette. ]

Owing the people who can do it isn't fun.

Well, that answers my second question. Not the nicest of people?

Magic is a rare skill these days. They like to make people pay through the fucking nose for it. The Usurper Wizard isn't too bad, but he's not very skilled. Totenkinder likes making us all pay because we won't let her hunt and eat children.

Would be nice if we could find the Queen of the Green City. Strange child, but very magical.

[...you're being extorted by a cannibal. Good to know. She's beginning to think Bigby's world isn't one she'd care to visit, either.]

She made a habit of eating children before that?

[ Possibly not. Fables are very different creatures. ]

Oh, lord. Sounds like a real piece of work. She's definitely not doing it anymore though, right?

[She's afraid to ask if it'd be considered a bad thing if they weren't so concentrated on looking normal. Bigby is a giant wolf, after all. Different place, different rules.]

No. Definitely not. She's got a nice little apartment where people keep track of her and make sure she's not luring children.

[ It's different. Bigby has eaten people but he's not a cannibal. He doesn't eat wolves. That would be gross. ]
