[open] INVADIN' UR SHIPS AND GYMS
Who: Takeshi
Broadcast: N/A
Action: On your ships. Yea rly. (Except for the Blue Fish..... he'll just knock.) Also, the Iskaulit gym and garden!
When: Today!!
[Takeshi's kept to himself, mostly. Maybe it's a strange depression phase — he's usually very productive, really!! Before he was always doing a job, after their ship crashed on a planet, or before that, when he was morale officer on the Tranquility. But now... Now everything feels so weird. He has his own little room again, but his things... they're gone. He used to have the wooden cut-outs his dad made him. Reika and Mattie, the princess-warrior and dragon. Now they're gone... and so is his drawings. Things that reminded him of good things. Well! He's not gonna let it hold him back anymore!
Which is why he's randomly teleporting into everyone else's ships to look around them. In your kitchens, your cargo bays, your medical areas and main controls. Everywhere. What? Nobody ever said touring the fleet was off-limits! He's got his flexi-armor on under his large sweater and a small holster with a gun on his hip beneath the hem of it. Because that's normal. Just like it's normal to wander around people's places of living.
... Ahem, but the Blue Fish's door is shut, and he just knocks and waits in front of it expectantly. Not sure if you can see him out the door, seeing as how he's like... not even four foot tall yet. But he's there.
After he investigates thoroughly, he goes to the gym, because now that he doesn't have his power suit? He's gotta get fit and prepared as best he can. Granted, he's by no means going to take anyone in a fight, but he's still gonna practice. His dad, he practiced, like, all the time! So it stands to reason he's gotta work out, too! You can hear is little huffs and puffs all the while; a careful release of air as he punches.

He can be seen punching a bag on the lowest section (because, y'know, shorty), his brow fixed in a determined stare. While he's clearly not inflicting any damage with those strikes because he's not exactly grown enough to, anyone with any skill in hand-to-hand combat may notice that he's actually not throwing punches with reckless abandon like a child playing pretend. No, actually — it's a genuine technique, albeit not perfected yet. He had studied his adoptive father quite often and picked up a few moves of his own, to be sure.
Practice makes perfecter!]

Makie is still not all that accustomed to space, but even she knows this is not a shuffle day. She raises an eyebrow, still casually stirring her tea at the table.]
Are you lost, or are you here to see someone?
no subject
Mm-mm! I wanted to come look at the ships. There's a lot of 'em!
Have you looked at any other ships?
no subject
Two, now. They're all different in their own way, but structurally the same. [She finds it kind of rude to just invite herself onto ships. It's not an opinion she projects onto Takeshi, though; a kid is a kid. You do you.]
Exploring can be hungry work. Our kitchen isn't very appetising off-station, but I believe Kitty has some snacks here still. Feel free to help yourself.
no subject
It's okay! I was worried about... um. About taking someone's food...
no subject
[Don't look sheepish, kid. Here, she even smiles back; it's a gentler smile than she usually gives. Kind of reserved for weird kids like you.]
Are you Japanese?
[Such an odd question to ask when he clearly looks it, but there are so many different worlds... let's not jump to conclusions.]
no subject
That's right! I'm from Japan! My name's Takeshi.
You're from there, too, huh?

You throw a good punch, but can you dodge the guy who's three times your size? [ In her experience, that's the trickiest part. ]
no subject
I dunno... I used to be able to dodge all kinds of stuff, but then I lost my special suit...
[He's runty and small, and that never bodes well for actual hand-to-hand combat.]

Small and quick is good! I can already fit in places people can't reach!

and that someone is a kid. she pauses and squints at the short stack. huh. swiftly, she screws the nail polish closed and (still bare-footed) hops down from the bunk. ]
Are you new crew? [ she doesn't look hostile. actually, she's pretty friendly! kate's smile falters only under the weight of her concern. ]
no subject
He shakes his head instead.]
Nope! I wanted to see the ships. It's kinda weird that people don't all look around to see where all their teammates live! 'Cus we're all just kinda one big team, only split up a little. Right?
no subject
[ kate smiles. whatever quibbling could be done with that statement, she puts it all on the backburner. he's a kid, after all. and a pretty precocious one at that. so she nods. ]
We might be on different ships -- but we're all in the same metaphorical boat. Right?
no subject
Mhmm! We're a team. It's super important.
... D'you want someone to paint nails with you?
[Yeah, we can see where the focus is. He's a bored little kid, man.]
no subject
[ her bare toes wiggle on the bunk-room floor. oh, he's cute. but now that she can see him a little better, she observes the gun on his hip.
well, damn. ]

PAISLEY
He's moving along when a sharp tug in his attention makes him blink and abruptly come to a stop as this random small human child appears out of no where. ]
Blast!
[ It's not the kid's fault he didn't see him. But at that moment, when all the junk pieces of metal and plastic formerly on the cart is on the floor, he realize he might hate kids a little. Just a little.
Anakin sigh and runs a hand over his face. ] Are you okay?
no subject
I'm okay! You shouldn't rush around places, mister, or you'll have a accident.
D'you want me to help you pick stuff up?
no subject
Well, I wouldn't mind an extra pair of hands if you can lend them. [ Anakin raise an eyebrow when he takes a look at the kid. Too small to be a proper crewman on any ship he knows. Man, this fleet does weird things. ] What are you doing here anyway? I didn't get any notice about a new crew member.
no subject
[Ha, ha, made a funny! He smiles and hunkers down to start picking up the parts, focus etched on his little round face. The questioning does give him pause, however. He looks up.]
I'm not new! I'm security on the Golden ship. But I wanted to meet all my new teammates.
no subject
[ He tilts his head at the mention of Golden. ] You mean your crewmates on Golden? Kid, you know this is SS Paisley you're on, right?

[Asuka recognizes the kid from the network post, enough that she isn't too startled when she first sees him barrelling in. None of that chocolate's appeared on board, so that can only mean one thing: he isn't supposed to be here.]
[She doesn't really have a soft spot for kids, not remotely, but at the same time, as he's rambling around the hallway outside her open bedroom door, she yells out--]
Isn't someone looking out for you on your own ship?
no subject
Mmm, a little bit! But it's okay, m'used to being on my own a lot.
I came to see all the other ships.
no subject
[She won't wave him in, but neither does it look like she's about to kick him out, as if she had that kind of jurisdiction. Asuka sighs, pushing her bangs out of her face and closing a notebook.]
They're probably wondering where you are.
no subject
I'm sure it's okay...! We're all friends on the ships, right?
Teammates!
It's how we're gonna beat the bad guys. 'Cus nobody can do it on their own.
