She also may not have realized she'd spoken aloud earlier until this guy, you know, replied to her, but she covers it well. ]

[ He huffs a brief laugh. ]

On second thought, I can probably guess.

[ He can guess she didn't mean to speak out loud, but it's not like he's going to call her out on it. ]

[ Thanks for that. Well, except not - because that is definitely something she's not going to say - but her hackles go down a little all the same. ] Are you going exploring?

I thought I might.

[ He glances around. ]

It's gloomy, but I'm tired of feeling cooped up.

[actsmagnificent]

[ See, she'd know that feeling too. Except something's missing from this puzzle, and once she realizes what it is, she also realizes just how much the wrongness of this place has gotten to her. This should have been the first thing she consciously noticed. ] There's no wind.

[ He frowns, pulling a hand out of one of his pockets and holding it up to the air. ]

You're right. [ He tilts his head. ] That doesn't really help with the "creepy" feeling.

There should be at least something. [ Haruka starts walking faster. This wind thing is really bothering her. ]

[axeboyfriend]

[ He doesn't really know anything about nature, but— ]

This is really bothering you, huh?

[actsmagnificent]

[ Shoot. She's letting it distract her, and that's no good in company. She can't really expect anybody who isn't Michiru to get how important the wind is to her (it's a metaphor thing).

Still, she looks out. Are those mountains over there? ] It might be stronger higher up.

[axeboyfriend]

[ Metaphors aren't really Shinjiro's thing even if he did know how important it was to her. He prefers something more blunt, less roundabout.

He follows her gaze to the mountains. ]

It could be. Want to check it out?

[ He'd intended to be alone, but company doesn't seem like a bad idea. ]

Come if you want. [ In other words, she's going with or without him. If he happens to head the same direction as her, that's his business.

Which is about as good as you're going to get from her, especially when her mind's on something else. Haruka has already begun heading that direction. ]

[ Well, that's enough for him. He follows her, his hands stuffed into his pockets. He's got long strides, so he has a pretty easy time keeping up with her. ]

[ It isn't exactly easy going, between breathing through a gas mask and the general disgustingness of the scenery. Haruka even puts a foot down at one point only for it to break through the "ground": a fine layer of dirt had settled in a pockmark.

She frowns. Lovely. ]

[axeboyfriend]

[ Shinjiro stares down at the ground cautiously when he notices that. Somehow, that doesn't seem safe— not that anything about this weird little moon is safe— and he's walking a little more cautiously now than he was before. ]

[actsmagnificent]

[ Same here. Haruka's pace has increased, though, for all her increased caution about where each foot gets placed. She wants to look at this place from above, if possible. Without a shuttle window in the way.

Maybe seeing the big picture will help her understand how this all went so wrong. It's none of her business, but still...this bothers her. ]
