Slightly disappointed by the lack of private bunks, Finn quickly settles in to his role as Security and spends the first few days thoroughly familiarizing himself with the ship. The food isn't nearly as bad as he'd been warned, especially with their nice, upgraded kitchen. Most of all, he seems very relieved to be off the lonely Marsiva.]

Moon: Exploring Inside
[Indoors Kitty can be found looking around, just getting a read on the vibe of the place and the inhabitants. She pauses around some of the more interesting art and architecture and takes her time through the museums. The shopping selection doesn't get much more than a passing glance except when something metal catches her eye.

Moon: Exploring Outside
[She's not a big fan of having to wear the mask, but she still does it for exploring the forest. There's a gauntlet strapped to her right forearm. It doesn't look like the original exactly—there's an almost steampunk vibe to it now where you can see gears fused and distorted together, but it can still shoot out three sharp metal claws thanks to Erik—Blade's—help. She finds a dead tree to cut up so she can get a feel for it. The claws are also brass now, which is a far cry from the original adamantium, but it's nice having the familiar weapon back. She doesn't have much trouble with the terrain since she can always walk on the air over it. Interesting how it does feel just a little different while phased than air normally feels to her.]

Moon: Games
[She'll keep an eye on people playing their games. There are many things about them that appeal to her—the action, the teamwork, the socialization. She hates the name though. War games? War is not a game. Not unless you've never seen one or you're a psychopath. She spends a lot of her time on the fringe, watching instead of participating. It's easier to include herself with the strategy games though especially chess. Step up and try your luck or ask her to join your paintball team or something!]

Windrose
[Spending her days in a breathing mask loses it's shine fairly quickly. She'll be on her ship spending most of her time on the bridge—the domain of the pilot after all or the kitchen—the domain of the hungry. Her own room is small and private and she tends to prefer being around people, so she's rarely there for more than sleep.]

Iskaulit
[She's a couple months into her Drift Fleet stay and forming something of a routine which includes, without fail, time spent training. Though she might poke her head into other areas of the ship since there are still parts of it she hasn't fully explored.]

[The Vision, luckily for him, doesn't seem to need a breath mask when he goes out; still, after the first day he's rigged up a little recharging station with a few spares near the main doors in case anyone needs to go out.

Ah, hello, Kitty. I'm afraid I haven't been able to find additional food supplies at a reasonable price on this moon. Have you had any better luck?

Max "Baby-face" Rockantaksy | Throughout the Week!

[Max vanishes almost as soon as they get there. He leaves Rock to keep them company (so at least it's like Max never left, obviously, since they're so alike). But he doesn't take all his things, and that's probably a good enough sign. He's only gone for two days, though. Just two. Wanders back into the SS Starstruck with without a mask and sighs, a bit on the pale side. Somebody didn't bother with protecting himself from those toxins. And is about to spend a whole day resting (and maybe barfing but whatever, he's fine). Luckily for him, though, just being out of the air is already doing wonders for him.

He puts fuel and coolant in the cargo bay, in a little storage area. As well as one emergency gas mask. All he could really afford right now, until he got more stable work.

At some point, after far too much deliberation, he enters the bathroom and returns with a completely... clean-shaven face. Granted his hair is still a bit overgrown, bangs a bit wild across his forehead, and he's still golden and dusty and spackled with what appears to be automotive oil. but... he's. Shaven. It's a miracle. Bet some of you didn't know this motherfucker had an upper lip after the hobo hair he was rocking for a while. Shocking, I know.

He sleeps off the illness in one of the shuttles, then takes time out of the day to work on training with Rock; he's gotten a lot achieved, which isn't surprising, given how much time you have to waste aboard the ships: sit, heel, and lay down are easy tricks now. And now they've finally perfected 'speak'. The dog's eager barks sound off through the ship.]

Mmh. Good.

[Max is pleased. So very pleased.

He can also be found outside their ships, lingering around. But more than that, he's found a bit of good work for credits and the like: in one of the working areas, he can be discovered working on the land transit. In fact, he's elbows deep in a jeep's hood, nearly disappearing into it. Probably looks something like so:



You might only know it's him by the obvious leg brace.

... Yeah, they really like the cut of his car jib. In exchange for his time and effort, they've been feeding him on the side, too. He can't complain. As for his mask -- which is required while he's working out there anyway -- it's a simple half-mask that covers his mouth and nose. Nothing fancy. He's not one for polished goods.

... He'll be getting into war games, don't you doubt it.

But we'll see that later. Yessir.]

[ peggy's no stranger to masks. in an unexpected fashion, its utilitarian lines and shape actually compliment the business-like lines of her skirt suit. what isn't business-like are the colourful paint splotches dotting the dark blue of her clothing. presumably, she got herself caught up in someone else's paintball match -- to the extent where a red smudge dashes off her mask's edge and into her long loose curls. her face is barely visible, but she's likely recognizable by all else: figure; stance; body language.

just like max is unmistakable, even bent over a jeep's cracked hood. and it ain't just the leg brace. she'd been walking back through the settlement on her way to a short-range shuttle, but she'd seen the curve of his posture at a distance and (having not seen him for a few days) thought it best to check in. so (metal briefcase in hand) she modifies her route.

rather than announce herself with some word or shout, she reaches the jeep and gives its flank a sharp double-rap with her knuckles. ]

Furiosa

[She will spend some time there out of curiosity to start, and stick around for the job opportunity. She quickly earns a reputation for vehicle handling, both the maintenance and running of. She's got a particular knack for bigger and weightier ATVs, but she's not too bad with the landspeeders, either.]

[Overall, though, it unsettles and angers her, seeing the world in this state. Seeing - and having to wear the masks - leaves a gnawing sickness in the pit of her stomach. She tries to forgo the mask herself when she can, drawing a scarf over her nose and mouth instead. It's not as effective, and while she's sturdier than most, she's not invincible.]

[Overall, wherever you find her, she's going to be a little more drawn than usual with a perpetual, if slight, frown.]

Leto Atreides the II

[ Leto doesn't need a mask, thankfully. Any chemicals or poisons that enter his body are converted and broken down carefully, due to his Bene Gesserit heritage. A Duke's son must always know about poisons, the phantom voice chides him. Carefully, he sets aside a little time to correct the bodily process. It would not do to irritate the Worm.

As he wanders this polluted place, he comes across a small gathering of people playing chess. Old, diluted variation of chess, not like the kind he used to play.

Ten minutes later, he has taken over that corner as another person leaves in disgust. He twirls the piece in his fingers, a knowing smile on his face. ]

[ very early on, kate gets her hands on a sleek and stylish looking mask to help her very mortal and very human respiratory system filter out the lion's share of lethal toxins. one has to wonder if her entire wardrobe isn't filled with varied hues of purple and pink because -- no matter what day she's seen -- she always seems to match.

although she avoids a lot of conflicts on her own behalf, she often gets dragged into war games in loud and bold support of others. friends, perhaps. or crewmates. or maybe just some guy on the street whose cause seems worthwhile. after all, it's not as though the games are hurting anyone. and she particularly likes the paintball matches -- or anything that involves sharp aim, really. she's supportive of those on her team, but ruthless with those on the opposite. she might just pop out from behind a toxin-weakened tree and snipe you, fellow fleeter! or just maybe you got caught playing a strategy game with her, instead. your chances of winning would be better.

throughout the city, she hits the usual hotspots: shopping, shopping, and more shopping. but once that avenue is thoroughly exhausted (and it happens quick, given how over-saturated the hobby had been at the previous stop), kate turns to...other diversions. curious down to her bones, she spends an awful lot of time wandering the indoor museums. she's particularly struck by whatever passes for modern art on this moon. god, she could lose hours staring at walls and wide geometric prints...

finally, she uncovers something fantastic near the training grounds. although the moon is avowedly anti-violence and weapons are definitely on the blacklist, there's something universally sportsmanlike about a shooting competition. so long as the well-documented bows and arrows never leave the indoor training field (and so long as they're used in the pursuit of games greatness), she can book a range for an afternoon and lose herself in some proper archery. the arrows are blunted, but the feeling's the same. ]

[The way Vash is playing at paintball it would be hard for many people to believe he is an actually expert at this kind of thing. Not being shot and being a sharp shooter himself.

But, he's just having a bit of fun and his bright red coat stands out like a sore thumb just begging to be hit. He was loudly chasing after a couple people he had run into earlier for a friendly game, so that might be the cause for the dramatics when Kate hits him.

[ Haruka may not always seem like the romantic sort, but she has Opinions about moons. Well, one moon in particular, but it - and what it stands for - is important to her, okay. So while she gamely dons her gas mask for a look around the place, her expression is one of disgust mingled with disbelief. ]

[ Haruka isn't quite sure what she's hoping to find out here. The city made her feel like she had to get away, but the lack of clean air means going for long rambles doesn't exactly clear her head the way it usually does.

Still, she's started, so she'll finish it. What could they be doing here? Forewarned is forearmed. ]

[ It doesn't really matter whether the Bishop made or lost money on the gumball transaction. Haruka is returning to the ship with pockets that make a suspicious jingling noise, rambling in her most nonchalant manner.

This, of course, means she's been up to something. ]

Exploring - City
<sub>[ The city is fascinating all on its own. The way it has adapted to deal with the pollution is a marvel, including their artwork with the geometric and very colorful patterns. He spends time studying those he comes across, brushing his fingers over the colors and trying to get shots of them if he can. Sometimes he would ask passerby if certain walls meant anything, or if they were merely done for the pleasure of color amidst the grime.

He'll of course go into all of the museums he comes across, curious to the history of this place, what it could reveal about the people and how this moon had come to be like this. He's quiet and respectful while inside of them, though maybe sometimes he brings his face a little to close to certain objects, but he's more than happy to wander with anyone else who enters.

He's favorite thing, though, must be the practice arenas. He had always liked running, and despite the pollution the moon was the best place to stretch his legs and get the exercise his loved and craved and even needed. He can regularly be found working across the obstacle courses, where he more than once eats dirt when he catches his feet wrong or lands badly.

Of course, if someone wants to do something else in the practice arenas, he's always up for a friendly challenge. ]</sub>

Exploring - Wilderness
<sub>[ He bought a mask that was more about function than anything, which saved him a fair bit of cash, but more than that being flashy out in the forests seemed like a bad idea. You never knew what was out there, and standing out didn't seem like it would be a useful defense mechanism. The terrain was nothing he hadn't trained for or come across before during his tenure as a captain and even a cadet. Every now and then he can catch glimpses of the oil towers and drills in the distance when he pauses to rest, finding the breathing a bit harder out here through the filtered oxygen of his mask.

He takes a weapon from his ship though. He's not stupid, and whatever animals might be surviving out here he suspected had acquired some very dangerous evolutionary traits. He'd had enough tangles with dangerous animals in the past to not want to go it alone anyways. If anyone wanted to come with him he would welcome the company, and he would pick up samples of the foliage where he could and set them into sealed bags for later study.

War Games

He liked one word and not the other, and the two together gave him a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach. The curious thing was, he didn't see any games that would make him initial think war. First hearing of them had made him think of something like the gladiator matches of ancient Rome, but these just seemed like amped up sports. But considering the strict rules against violence here, he could see how these serves their purposes - dual like, with much less risk of permanent injury and death.

He was content to watch, especially things like the shuttle races and chess matches. They were thrilling in their way, and he thought Bones and Spock would be proud of him for not simply offering himself up to play in one of the rather deadly matches.

Yes, he was content to watch - until he bumped someone by accident, and found himself suddenly being manhandled into an arena and having what looked like a long and somewhat sturdier pool noodle thrust into his hands. His opponent was grinning in a manner far to sadistic for his liking, and he liked it even less when slats on the ground were removed to show dark, thick mud and left them on a small square in the center.

How did he get himself into these things?! ]</sub>

[Erik, as always, had gone out alone to explore the terrain. He was on alert for noises in the undergrowth, and so he approaches where Jim is foraging with caution. What he wasn't expecting was for the noise to lead him to someone... cutting off plant leaves. He stops a few feet away, at a loss for a moment.]

I hope you're not planning to make a salad with those.

[It's doubtful, but he has to open with something. While he talks, he drops the screw he had ready back into his pocket. By all appearances, Erik's unarmed.]

Theon Greyjoy

A. Arrival

[ At first, Theon is loathe to wear the gas mask. It looks sinister, as if could become a permanent part of his face if he wears it for too long, but stubborn though he may be, it only takes an hour wandering about on the moon and a feeling reminiscent of seasickness change his mind.

The mask goes on, but Theon's first plan of action is to approach one of the mask merchants. As he explores, you'll find him wearing the typical black mask, but now painted with golden krakens.

Yes, he really coughed up what little money he had just to have krakens painted onto his mask. This is the type of guy you're dealing with. ]

B. War Games
[ Being dragged into the war games is one thing Theon doesn't mind in the beginning. It helps him to think less about what's happened at home, and he's happy enough to lend his hand to the boxing or wrestling or even the paintball matches, his laughter muffled by the mask every time he scores a win or hits a target.

But the board games, which he seems to be roped into most often, leave him yawning, and even here where he has more room to breathe, Theon is quick to anger. After the tenth game and tenth loss in a row, his fuse runs short. He roughly grabs his opponent by the mask and draws them in closer, meaning to give them a piece of his mind when it comes to this idea of "war games". Before he gets the opportunity, he's pulled to his feet and thrust into a ring of bystanders, a light foam bat placed into his hand.

He only laughs, and puts his best weapon to use instead: his mouth. ]

You don't even know war. Perhaps you should reconsider your definition, before you're forced to experience the real thing.

She wears the standard issue mask for all of twenty seconds, before she can't stand it anymore. She takes it off, and that's that. At her first opportunity she sells it, and won't be found with another one on, if she can help it. She is not immune to poisons. She staves off the effects by using magic, but it wont last forever. And the spell can actually make the onset of symptoms worse, without proper medical attention.

After the first six hours, she'll suddenly appear quite unwell, breaking out in a light sweat, coughing, and feeling nauseous. This won't stop her from going out to the planet, and spending as much time as possible off the ship while she has the opportunity. She will absolutely muscle through this and not complain, much.

Syeira will spend as much time off the ship as she possibly can. Which may be less than usual, if she's sick enough. But she'll avoid participating in the war games, if she can help it. Though she doesn't mind watching, just for fun. But you can bet she'll go out and explore the woods.

[Vash doesn't know Syeira, but when he passes by her he can't ignore that light sweat on her brow and the lack of mask. So he stops and turns back towards her.]

Planet Side

Vash spends a lot of time with a gas mask on, nothing fancy, but one that keeps his eyes uncovered so he can easily see, and wandering the forest. He's very curious about the terraforming he heard about. He doesn't mess with anything for now just looking and inspecting.

Other times he does loosen up a bit and plays some paintball. He won't be showing off any of his sharpshooting today. Getting hit just as much as he's hitting and "missing" just as much as he's getting hit. It's all for a bit of fun and exercise that can be hard to get on the ship.

Iskaulit

Then once or twice he can be found at one of the bars on the Iskaulit. Needing again to be away from the sickly planet. A quiet drink with his thoughts. Seeing up close what can happen when terraforming goes wrong is only a bit unsettling for him. He'll still welcome any company that may be offered.

[ it feels good to just be out again, not cramped up tight on that ship with all of his bad feelings and foul moods. the pollution is pretty gross, and a real shame, but for the most part he's pretty unbothered by it.

so he's easy to find, wandering the stalls and markets picking through the bric-a-brac, checking out the masks before he settles on the customized bird mask that he's trying on and checking out in a mirror. badass. ]

war games;

[ generally speaking, cas isn't fond of war or violence, but it's in his blood nonetheless, and he really, really needs the opportunity to blow off some steam in a nice, safe way. shirtless and shoeless, he spends most of his time boxing and wrestling; after (literally) billions of years spent training in hand-to-hand combat, even without his grace cas is a force to be reckoned with even if, uh, he fights scrappy and dirty and lands himself in the mud pits a lot. whoops.

paintball turns out to be a good time, too. cas is a good shot, is used to fighting outdoors and in groups, so feel free to team up with him in the woods, or snipe him in the back when he's not looking. take care though, his sight and hearing are sharp, and it's kill or be killed in friendly competition! ]

exploring;

[ safely masked up, cas spends a decent amount of time outdoors if only to feel the sky above his head. he doesn't go too far from the city, and the miasma and chemically poisoned terrain kind of throw off his mojo, so meditation is kind of out of the question, but it's nice to feel grass under his boots anyway even if it's, you know, toxic. ]

Let's wrestle!

[Wrestling isn't his go-to sport, but he's done enough rolling around in the ring with his partner, that he figures he's good enough to give it a go. He always enjoys a good challenge. And as far as physical sports go, well, it doesn't really get more physical than wrestling.

That they don't require the headgear is rather interesting though, but he's not afraid of a little pain. Though he does prefer it if his face doesn't get too injured in the scuffle. He banks a lot on his appearance, after all.

The shoes come off and he's still undecided about the shirt when he notices the other guy in the ring is without. There's con and pros. Wiggling out of the shirt when shit gets real is always an option. But there's also a slip and glide that's easier when there's less friction.

Eh, what the hell. He slips his shirt off and folds it up and sets it off to the side before slipping into the ring. Not getting it damaged tips his decision.

Inside, he steps up to the place marker and nods a greeting at his opponent. He's not a good enough sportsman to wish good luck, but, hell, his Nana did teach him some manners.]

Erik Lehnsherr

[Ever glad to get off the ships and into a more open space, Erik is nevertheless something of a furtive presence around the city. The idea of war games leaves a bad taste in his mouth, however harmless they claim to be. Too many bad experiences with games in other worlds makes him tense, expecting something worse than what's on offer. So whenever they start up around him, Erik can be found drawing well back from them to watch from the side, looking thoroughly unimpressed.

On some occasions, when a local insists!! that he join in, he quite simply pulls away and vanishes around a corner... flying straight up once out of sight to land on a building roof instead. Anyone heading up to admire the hazy view might find him already there.]

ii. the wilderness

[It's been a while since Erik's hunted. And while he knows, from the locals' warnings, that he shouldn't try to take any animals out here for food, it's an outlet for his restless tension. So he takes his gas mask (a simple affair, its burgundy colour the only flashy thing about it), some spare screws and gears from his toolkit, and heads out into the forest. He doesn't practice much silence - being quite difficult to breathe quietly through a mask - but stays on alert for sudden movements, be it animal or Fleeter. Even though he's out looking for wildlife, more than once he's drawn to a mineshaft instead, peering down into the black depths.]

[One of the war-games is brewing below, and rather than get caught up in it himself, someone else is watching from a rooftop near where Erik lands. If not having a breath mask isn't a dead giveaway that this is one of the more unusual Fleeters, a large amount of vibranium in his body probably is.

He actually looks pleased to see someone else up here and lifts a hand in greeting, though he won't approach if the other wants to be left alone.]

Chloe Price

A. On the Tourist

[Whenever she's back on the ship, Chloe can be found either in the medbay doing lab stuff and listening to music, or in the kitchen cooking, or in her room with the door open, reading or just killing time. Painting on the walls of her new room is a thing this week.]

B. On the Iskaulit

[She has claimed a small room over on the group ship, near Alex's painting and relaxation room. She can often be seen carrying bits of equipment in, tables and the like, but is always careful to lock the door each time. Maybe she's doing something suspicious!]

C. On the Moon: outdoor exploring!

[Chloe had been on the first ship available down to the moon, and she had been practically vibrating in place the entire time because holy shit another planet. The space station had been cool, but this was different. This was living the Star Trek dream different. Even if it was a polluted cesspool, it was still a different world!]

[As soon as they had the option, she'd borrowed a gas mask and headed outside, not caring that everything was smoggy and gross. (Hey she was a smoker right? She was used to it.) She didn't wander too far on the first couple days, just exploring around the edges of the wilderness.]

[But eventually she picked a landmark in the distance, on the clearer days...a massive oil rig, and set off in that direction...this couldn't end terribly, right?]

D. On the moon: Indoors.

[When she wasn't out and about, she could be found perched wherever gave her a good view of some of the spontaneous games that formed. She wasn't much of a participater, really, not unless she was forced into it. But they were fun to watch! How often did you get a chance to see aliens playing sports?]

[And on the upside, nobody was bitching about her smoking, since it wasn't like they weren't used to smog...]

B. Exploring the Moon: Indoors

[The teen didn't know what to make of being on another planet. It was something of an X-men rite of passage, but not one she had ever dealt with. Other dimensions? Sure. Hell even. But a planet, and one as clearly ruined as this one...]

[It wasn't what she had expected. So she was exploring, poking around watching people, stores, whatever caught her attention. Sometimes following other fleet members when she noticed them. But mostly just trying to understand this new place they were in.]

C. Outside on the moon

[First detail: She wasn't bothering with a mask. She had one clipped to her belt, but it irritated her face, so it was left off for now, letting her healing factor handle the grossness in the air.]

[Early on she could be found staying near the city, frowning at the pollution because it was playing havoc with her sense of smell, and she navigated by that more than she would admit. Still, she was sure she would adapt to it, once she stopped wanting to cough every time she took a deep breath...]

[Other times she could be found near the atmospheric generators that had caused this whole mess. She wasn't technically minded, but that didn't mean she didn't want to investigate some. Maybe keep an eye on the smarter people who could actually fix something...]

[Takeshi is out and about all over the dirty little city on this moon. You can find him, first and foremost, in a small shoe store, cycling through shoes in the kid's section because he... has no clue what size he actually wears. He looks super focused on the task, and is mostly targeting slip-on shoes, because he doesn't know how to tie shoes. And he's gotta be smart about it!

Whenever he's done, he'll slap a handful of credits on the counter. Hopefully the person he's buying from is nice and doesn't overcharge him, because Takeshi doesn't quite understand quality to cost ratios and all that jazz. He bought some pretty AWESOME SHOES in his honest opinion.

Outside, he's kind of a Where's Waldo. He rushes around in crowds, keeps from staying anywhere too long, but he seems oddly comfortable with being alone in the world by himself, for someone so small his age. His credits jingle-jangle in his pockets and he appears to have bought himself two action figures for himself to play with. Which one can find him doing. Here's about what you can expect:]

Ptchoo! Ptchoo! Look oooout, Master Fighter, he's calling for reforcement!

Get him with your Super Rare Backflip Punch! Bakaaaow! Pow! [He's spinning one of the figures through the air, having a little fist punch the other figure in the little face. POW POW WAPOW!!] Don't let him get away! He's sending the robot spiders! Oh no--!!

[He's also got a cute mask that makes him both incredibly sad and incredibly happy all at once. He misses his old friend. He misses a lot of things.]

[Arthur's managed to find some candy on this moon, and is munching on it while he passes the shoe store. And then he sees a small, familiar face and he stops, backs up, and goes into the store.

He wanders over to the kid's section, waving when he gets close, still holding his bag of candy (small colorful gummy things).] Hey, big guy. Remember me? I'm working on your sketches still.

The Wilderness:

[This is his first actual planet since he’s been brought on board and despite the fact that the ground is polluted and the population is walking around in gas masks, he’s excited to be on a solid surface again, outside of the small confined space that makes him damn twitchy.

He figures it out quickly. It’s a part of his job to adapt, to take in a culture and blend into it, and behind a functional gas mask it’s easy to fall into the crowd. But he’s not the kind of man who appreciates museums and art work, doesn’t care much about learning the culture beyond blending into it, so he spends a lot of his on the planet-side moving around. Shopping only holds his interest for so long when there’s not much he’s interested in here.

Luckily, it seems an action packed planet so there’s enough to do. But when he isn’t participating in war games, exploring seems like something to pass the time. So he heads out into the wilderness on several occasions, a totally manly fanny pack filled with essentials around his waist, with no real intentions other than to appreciate nature in a way he never had before and do something physical.]

War Games:

Paintball: [They had him at War Games. He’s participated in a handful of them during his career, especially during his time at The Farm and he’s quick and eager to jump right into the chaos. Partying on the space station had been fun, but it hadn’t satisfied him in the way that adrenaline pumping action does.

He’s very familiar with paintball, even more familiar with a gun in his hands, and he takes to the field like a veteran. He’s not the kind of guy that works well with a team, but if he finds someone to watch his back and shoot at his side, they’ll find a very quick loyal partner, even if he’s having to stop to show them how to hold a gun or turn off the safety. So long as they don’t shoot him in the crotch after he does so.

For anyone on the other team, he’ll be quick to shoot, and for anyone who manages to avoid a shot, well, they’ve just become an interesting target that he’s willing to go all out on.]

Wilderness

Kirk had chosen a cheaper, functional mask instead of something flashier, not least because he didn't want to stand out in the forests. You never knew what kind of creatures could be out here or how they had adapted, but from the looks of it standing out like an orange traffic cone was a bad idea. It reminded him of the little lesson in evolution that came along with the Industrial Revolution - the white and the gray moths. Blending in saved lives.

He thinks he sees a human shape through the smog, and curious he makes to follow, wondering if it's a villager out to collect something and if so what, and why. As he drew closer, though, he thought he recognized this particular silhouette, even with the gas mask. The flash of gold hair and bright blue eyes sort of sealed it, but he had to laugh at the fanny pack. Really FDR? ]</sub>

A: Wilderness

[Vima is out to explore, and she's not really interested in the beaten path today. Being interested in the failed terraforming and how that came about, she's liable to be found near the oil towers and other industrial leavings, or the forests.

Although she's got the breather on, she's not feeling super wonderful. The general sickliness of all the life around here is kind of getting at her through the Force, but she's going to find whatever she can find, dang it.

Just because her mother's gone doesn't mean she'll stop acting like a Jedi. It's more important now, even.]

B: War Games

[War isn't a game and she's a little aggravated that it's being treated like it so enthusiastically, I mean, shouldn't they be trying to solve the pollution problem. But since it's all explicitly non-lethal combat, it seems like a good way to get some informal training in.

Vima will be particularly interested in the shuttle racing and paintball--excellent for honing the sense, even if she's not at home with guns or blasters. It's always good to learn new things! Hunting, boxing wrestling, and the other team sports won't be here though.]

C: Wild Card

[Got an idea, let's go! She can also be found on the Heron a lot too, doing more meditatin' than usual. Vima's not as chipper as she usually is.]

[Jaina doesn't mind the breather so much as the wilderness itself. She's gotten used to the jungle of Yavin 4; this feels, to her, like a twisted version of it. This could be an excellent place if it weren't for the botched terraforming.

Mostly? She wants to clear the place and get right into one of those towers.]

This isn't my usual sort of hike. Find anything yet?

Arthur

[Arthur spends a little extra so that he's got the gas mask just over his nose and mouth. It's just plain black. His hair is slicked back as always, and he wears sweaters with the sleeves pushed up and slacks.]

Indoor Market

[He spends some time talking to the locals about the mechanics of things, the architecture of their buildings. He feels bad for these people. They're in a bad situation with the environment. He wants to help, but he doesn't know much about the terraformers.

He's in an indoors market with a crude setup of paints and a few brushes, and he's painting the stand (for all kinds of medicines and remedies). He seems to be painting vines, flowers, anything green or happy-looking. It's pretty, and the owner of the stand seems to appreciate it.

He's squatting down to get the bottom of the stand, his gas mask hanging around his neck, when he knocks the cup of water for his brushes over with his foot.] Shit.

War Games

[As often as Arthur seems to be mostly intellectual, he decides to participate in the games. He's flung off his sweater and undershirt and is participating in the wrestling and boxing. He's got a few bruises already from the boxing, he's kind of ridiculously long and thin, and his hair is starting to come apart from sweat. But he seems to be enjoying himself, laughing and grinning when he wins a boxing match.

He can also be found in the woods playing paintball. He's deadly serious about it. And a little too into it. Like your character right there? Just got shot three times in the back. Somebody needs to switch to decaf.]

The Wilderness

[It's not as densely foggy with pollution today, so Arthur's climbing around the hills, for once wearing work pants and a t-shirt with his wavy natural hair. And yes, his gas mask. It's nice to not be cooped up in a spaceship, and so he sits down at the top of a big hill and pulls out his notebook.

It has the occasional drawing (of Ariadne, Eames, Cas, Sye, or maybe anyone else who's talked to him on video or in person), and a lot of notes. On the ship. About people. If you can get close enough, a lot of the notes are about dream sharing, that he wants Sye to be his friend, that he's having trouble figuring Cas out, that it's weird that the dirty guy looks like Eames, or even notes in another language. He's not really paying attention now, gazing beyond the hills at the mechanical drill arms.]

[Pick anything else! He'll probably also be shopping for clothes, playing strategy games, and stocking up on as much food as he can get.]

[She's smiles, but she looks a bit rough. There's no mask in sight on her person, and she seems a bit paler than usual, perhaps a little wilted around the edges, and a bit of a sheen of perspiration hints on her forehead.]

[ For one reason or another, Lisa Lisa's ended up having to face someone in a game. It looks like this time, it's boxing. She may be unrecognizable now -- face hidden behind the mask, hair pulled up tight under a hat, a stylish pantsuit and a long scarf perhaps obscuring her figure a little. But whoever this mystery person is, they clearly know how to play the game, and it's barely thirty seconds of her expertly dodging the poor opposing soul before she find the precise moment to strike, and they're out for the count.

Well, that was good practice. Now she seems to be looking around. Maybe you could challenge her next ... ? ]

[ You can't just expect her to be satisfied with just one, can you? If there's the option to make it match with her outfits, of course she's going to find a little something new to accessorize with. Even if it's kind of bulky and stupid looking no matter what ...

[It probably comes as no surprise that Suzie's really not having a good time on the YuckMoon™. Part of it, certainly, is simple aesthetics; it doesn't matter how cute of a mask you find, it's still damn difficult to look or feel cute from behind a full-face apparatus in the first place, and she very obviously doesn't. Moreover, the moon is just gross — it's polluted and grody, and the antithesis of the fresh, growing sorts of places that she likes to daydream about visiting after long stretches of time canned up in the fleet.

But she's trying to make the best of it, as always, and a lot of times making the best of things includes engaging in things that are familiar, so the fact that she's out shopping with Lisa Lisa today probably comes as no surprise when that's about as familiar as it gets.

...Of course, there's one minor silver lining to the mask issue, certainly.]

Ah! Madame Lisa Lisa, I found two more! This one has a wider panel for the eyes and shows more of the face, but this other one is a nicer color, and has sleeker lines...

Try not to crash in a lake;

[Hey, it's a new planet! Moon, whatever. Either way, it's Kirito's habit to explore the new areas in his spriggan form, taking off into the skies with his fairy wings to get a feel for the region. He uses the mask, of course. He's not stupid. Heck, he even goes out and finds himself a fun, glow-in-the-dark insect-esque mask to go with the wings while he explores.

He'll be diving in closer to the surface to study some of the scenery, so flag him down at will!]

He probably crashed in a lake;

[The downside of being a normal human being who's spent a lot of time bedridden in a hospital during crucial development years: sometimes his immune system is shit. Too much exploring in the nasty atmosphere, even with the gas mask, means Kirito isn't feeling too hot. He's bundled himself up in some sad corner of the spaceport, sans the fairy form, drinking carefully-filtered tea and reluctantly listening to a tourist-loving local lecture him about venturing recklessly into danger. Like that ever works on him.

Someone should probably rescue him. Or, more importantly, get him to a med bay or something. He's too stubborn to get himself to bed, and it's cozy here.]

This is why the indoors are always better for you;

[Once he's recovered, lesson learned, Kirito sticks to the indoor areas, venturing outside only long enough to go from one building to another. Since there isn't much else to see that would interest him, he spends some time poking around area where the War Games are held, because they're a pretty fascinating aspect of the culture, and it's right up his alley.

Most of the physical games aren't the sort that he'd be good at, but once he gets the basic gist of how the system works, he might just go about trying to bait people into taking him on in one of the strategy games.

This may or may not work out as planned.]

[ If it helps any, Kirito's not the only one who'd felt unwell due to general exposure to the planet. He had the poor-conceived idea to search for someone via scent outside without a mask and subsequently threw up everywhere. Following that he's been trying to avoid going outside, but the safe and filtered areas indoors (like where Kirito is currently) are okay enough, and it's there that he spies his super best new-friend ever...

...and drops his arms around the teen's shoulders from behind despite the local's insistent conversing. ]

[one: did you know that you're toxic]

[Who's surprised that the first mask that Jon opts for is this black mask? No one, that's who. It's kind of boringly plain, but then again, it's black--that was probably part of the appeal to Jon. Well, that and the part where he won't fall sick if he wears it around when outside of the ship. That's also a large part of the appeal here.

One of the first things Jon does is go shopping--or, in this case, haggling, and thus proving Stannis Baratheon's suspicions about his ability to haggle like a fishwife right, because once you've had to strike a bargain with a king, bargaining with merchants is a cake walk.

Okay, more like a walk on top of the Wall, but--at least there's no risk of slipping from a great height. Soon enough Jon's got a small bag full of these prizes he's won, varying in quality from "pretty good" to "why the fuck did you buy that, you've been robbed", and he's feeling pretty good about himself. He even got his family some gifts they might like--"lemoncakes" (quotes necessary) for Sansa, treats for Bran's fox and a stuffed toy for Bran himself, and a strategy game for Robb.

Yeah, so far, things are looking up for Jon.

That's not going to last for long.]

[two: war, what is it good for?]

This is yours, isn't it--

[The question is barely out of his mouth before he suddenly gets tugged into a war game. It's a misnomer, in his opinion, because much of the games he finds himself dragged into--whether because there's a lack of players or some other reason--feels more like a training bout than an actual fight, but unlike some people he keeps that little observation to himself.

Instead, he plays. Whether it's paintball or tug-of-war or racing or something else entirely, and by the end of the week Jon's lost count of how many war games he's gotten swept up into, whether as an unwitting participant, a willing participant (later on in the week when he really gets into it) or--let's be real here--because his patience ran out with somebody and he got a bit too rough.

Either way, there's two ways this can go, depending on where you are:

A. If you happen to be on the same side, he's actually quite helpful--pointing out weak spots, giving advice, even watching your back, as if he's had experience in the training yard before. Who knows, you might even bond with the guy a little.

or: B. If you happen to be on opposite sides, though, he's not about to take any prisoners. Hope you're up for some friendly competition, folks--or not so friendly, depending. (Looking at you, Greyjoy.)]

[Occasionally, Jon ducks back into the ship--to eat, sleep, or just take a break from needing to have a mask on most times. Clearly, this is the best place to bother him.]

[You can bet your ass that Wrath is going to find the pinkest, sparkliest, girliest filter mask she can find. Double bonus if it involves a unicorn horn. And of course, matching shoes are a must. She is going to need help getting around, though, since she's still having serious back issues. Someone make that woman sit down.]

B: Games

[It is the tragedy of Wrath's life that she can't participate in any of the games like paintball. But she will try board games! She's just very bad at anything that involves numbers, though she shows a very good grasp of certain kinds of strategy games. But heaven help whoever plays something like Diplomacy with her, her soul will be crushed the first time she finds out everyone has lied to her.]

C: Memories of Home

[Looking out at the poisoned landscape reminds her a lot of home, and she feels incredibly ambivalent about that. She might be sitting with a drink ignored at her elbow, doing little digital paint sketches of what she sees. It's a little odd to see her missing her smile to this extent. But this moon... she feels a lot of empathy for it, in a way. And hates it as well.]

D: Medical

[Perhaps most importantly, Wrath's going to be exploring the medical options to see if there's anything that can be done about her back problems...]

[ You can bet that if Wrath is on a mission, Winter is right there with her, walking from booth to booth and showing her options. Unfortunately, he's not super great at this. He just doesn't understand your style at all, does he, Wrath? Judging by the very plain and very practical choices he shows.

A: Gaming

[Loki is all about the war games; that's always been his favorite sort of thing. Sometimes he'll cheat just for the hell of it, though he rarely has to. He's more interested in going after the locals than people from the fleet, but given the opportunity to humiliate someone else, he'll be more than happy to do so--lest it be forgotten that he's a massive space asshole.

Or, you know, gently shoving someone into the middle of a scrum and watching them get trampled just for the sake of amusement.

But go ahead, he'd love to make some wagers over various games of skill. And he'll even go on a few losing streaks just to keep people willing to bet with him. It's all a numbers game. Sanitized violence (that he's happy to dirty up as soon as no one's looking) or board games, it's all the same to him.]

B: Wilderness

[He takes some time to explore out into the wilderness and look around, generally unbothered by the polluted atmosphere. Rather, what does bother him is the state of the natural part of the world. It really just makes him think about how distressed his mother would be at the state of it, and that is a train of thought bound to leave him unusually sober.

It isn't as if he could fix. That's not where his talents lie.

When freshly back from the wilderness, it might take him a few minutes to get back his usual attitude of smirking carelessness. Be a chum and don't point it out.]

C: Other

[Come at me bro.]

[A few days into their sojourn, there happens to be a tournament for one of the more complex Risk clones. Deciding to play as much out of curiosity as anything else, the Vision was mildly surprised to find he'd made the semifinals. More to his surprise, who should he find as one of his six opponents than a very familiar face?

He may have to try to be competitive after all.

Before the round begins, he nods over in acknowledgment.]

A: City!
[exploring the (indoor parts of the) city grants a nice little break from having to wear that mask all the time. She'll take the time to wander through the markets and the museums, but what she's really looking for is a book or a class or something to help her get more acquainted with the tech nowadays. Coming from the 90s can be a struggle sometimes.]

B: Oceanview
[Michiru's leaning against a convenient stone ledge. Her expression looks pretty placid, but it's difficult to tell under the gas mask. It's hard to watch, but it's harder to look away.]

C: War...game??
[who knows how she got into this, but here she is, in the middle of an indoor pavilion with a violin in her hands. Her opposite has an instrument too, and they're exchanging snatches of melody. It's not exactly the most objective of games, but the growing crowd would cheer whenever one of the players takes the other's melody and adds their own twist to it, as if daring the other to respond.

The 'tussle' comes to a head when Michiru gathers up the entire leitmotif, placing herself squarely as the main melody even as she expands and embellishes on the theme. After a few attempts to overtake that melody, her opponent sighs good-naturedly and begins playing accompaniment.

Judging from the cheers, her small smile, and the way the music starts shifting into cooperation rather than an outright challenge, Michiru is having a lot more fun than she's letting on.]

[ A scenic ocean view? Exactly the kind of thing Penny is looking for in this little exploration excursion!

Although... Hm. Not very scenic, is it?

Still, Penny isn't the kind of girl not to notice or greet a fellow Fleet-er. So she gives a small wave as she approaches. ] Greetings! Enjoying the view? [ Maybe this girl likes the polluted ocean. Penny won't judge.

One thing Michiru might notice is Penny's lack of a gas mask, though. And this far from the city, that must have been quite a while without it. ]
