[boy oh boy, isn't everyone just so excited to explore this... charming... place...?

this is a game-wide mingle and the timeframe isn't super-important, so throw in with whatever you want! play war games, go shopping for gas masks, get lost in the wilderness, hide up in the Iskaulit and refuse to set foot on the moon, anything goes.

[Ciri's fairly recognizable even in a mask that's slightly bird-like--it was with only a little bit of irony that she chose something that reminds her of a swallow, her namesake. The white hair is still visible, of course, and that gives her identity away much quicker than her voice. A voice which she tries to deepen when she spots Kirk (or maybe it's the other guy), hoping to spook him.]

Boo.

_{[ Kirk, for himself, had stuck with a functional mask, choosing to save money and go for something that would allow him to blend and be unobtrusive in the landscape. He was kneeling, inspecting something he thought he had seen hidden within the roots of one of the toxic trees, and the sudden addition of a comically deepened voice did make him jump and spin, pursing his lips behind his mask when he saw it was Ciri (the only evidence of this being a slight draw of his brows). ]}

Very funny, Ciri. What brings you out here?

I don't like being cooped up. [Coop. Get it? She thinks she's funny. But it's more or less the truth--she gets antsy when there's more to explore, even if it is a toxic, polluted world.]

What about you? Waiting for girls to sneak up on you? You might be in the wrong place.

_{[ Haha yes, he hears it and all she gets is a roll of his eyes and a shake of his head. Really, some things should not be rewarded and that is one. ]}

A man needs his time with nature and some solitude now and then too. Reflection time, you see.

_{[ He motioned around him to the bleak landscape. ]}

Really, though, I'm out picking some samples. I thought we could test them back on the ships, get a clearer idea of what's happened.

You don't seem like the type to enjoy nature, but then again I don't know if this can even be called as such.

I grew up on a farm, you know. I like nature just fine, and it is part of my job back home to explore.

Sure, if you don't mind some slow going. Need to be careful moving out here - hard to see and all and I've heard things about mine shafts.

Haha, I know, right? But yeah, I did. My mom sent me there when I was a kid to live with my uncle while she went out into space for work with her new husband.

[It's not her place to judge, so she just nods--though it doesn't stop her from making a face behind her mask. Parents should stay with their children. But he turned out all right.]

Only you. You'd be more interesting if you were dangling into a mine shaft, but there's plenty of time for that.

Maybe you should walk in front, eh?

_{[ He glanced back at her, his eyes sparking with his teasing as he picked his way through the toxic wood. ]}

You ever seen anything like this before?

[She shrugs, opting to walk next to him, eyes scanning the ground for anything that screams imminent death.]

I've been to worlds that have been in bad shape, but nothing like this. [She lifts her hands, motioning to the landscape.] None where the very air could make you ill. What an awful place to live.

_{[ Doesn't everything here kind of scream it? Or at least like it's all got one foot in the grave already? ]}

Worse that I think it has to be of the people's creation. There would be no reason for them to settle here if the planet was naturally like this, after all.

I'd hope not. A shame they can't hop aboard the fleet with us, but we might end up somewhere worse after this.

[She makes a face behind her mask, shaking her head. Whatever worse could be...]

_{[ He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. ]}

Keep wishing for a resort planet. Maybe we can catch a break after this mess and enjoy some real sunshine and real fresh air.
