[She nods.] My Mom and Dad. I learned to read when I was still pretty young, but I still wanted them to read to me sometimes. [Not enough though. She wishes she spent a little less time being independent back then when she could have spent more time with them.]

You're really lucky... I don't remember mine, and I never learned how to read, hehe. [ The village he'd been taken to upon waking and being found hadn't been one with a high amount of literacy, and even then he wasn't there very long before they'd decided to burn him alive.

Well--I mean. When I came here all of a sudden I could... I think it's because of the thingies they gave us. [ Sascha moves his free hand to point to the back of his neck absently, and after fixes his shades more comfortably in front of his eyes. ]

But I really would've like it. School always looked really fun.

It did? [She didn't realize that about the augment, but it makes sense and fits with other things they've modified.]

That's good then. [She would have offered to teach him.] School could be fun. It's not everyone's thing.

But learning is awesome! How could people not like it?? Everything is so much harder when you don't know it... [ He would have been humbled by the offer♥ ]

I don't really know. I was definitely into school. I still kind of am I guess.

What was it like?? Can you tell me about the school you went to? [ THIS CAN BE HIS BEDTIME STORY. he'll go to sleep right away after he promises. ]

I only went to school until I was thirteen. Things...changed after that. But it was a nice one in our neighborhood. My parents moved to be closer to it before I was old enough to remember. I was in all the advanced placement classes and we had a really good science and technology department. So, I'd stay after school on the days I didn't have dance practice and I'd play around in the labs. The robotics teacher always spoke in a monotone and everyone joked that he was a robot. He knew his stuff, so I liked him. Some of my classes were with older students which seemed to annoy some of them. But I had so much going on I didn't worry about that too much and I had a few friends.

[ As soon as dance comes up as a subject there's a noticeable light and interest in Sascha's eyes, but he doesn't interrupt her until there's a pause or break in her story, absently rubbing her knuckles with a thumb. ]

I never learned how to dance...is it hard?

It takes a lot of time and dedication to master certain forms, but anyone can dance.

Yeah, I wouldn't just say that to mess with you. When you're feeling better.

Sascha, come on. Have I lied to you? Now, relax and sleep.

I know, I know... It's just still surprising. [ And he appreciates every moment of it. But he'll lie his head back down now and settle. ]

Hopefully, people doing and saying the smallest of nice things to you won't seem so surprising soon. [Because more of them will be doing it. She would think so at least. These places are usually really accepting. They have been for her.]

[ No one's tried to kill him yet, which is actually? A Huge Thing. People aren't nearly so kind back home, but then there's also reasons for that. Vampires aren't especially fond of humans aside from their being used for food or entertainment, and humans aren't too thrilled with that. ]

That'd be amazing...

[Kitty can understand that too. Humans have every right to fear mutants in a world where mutants are committing genocide against them. It's just hard fighting for them and still being hated.]

G'night Kitty. [ Which is followed by one last squeeze of his hand to hers, a silent plea for her to be there until he really is gone and out--even if it won't take long. This is his "night time" after all. He's not meant to be up at all hours of the night. ]
