first one to make that doctor who joke loses
Who: Everyone! All of you!
Broadcast: Maybe!
Action: Definitely!
When: Anytime during the toxic moon event!
---
[boy oh boy, isn't everyone just so excited to explore this... charming... place...?
this is a game-wide mingle and the timeframe isn't super-important, so throw in with whatever you want! play war games, go shopping for gas masks, get lost in the wilderness, hide up in the Iskaulit and refuse to set foot on the moon, anything goes.
here's the main event info post for reference! have fun!]

Yes. But I do not need the mask. It's not a matter of pride. I simply do not need it for necessity's sake.
[ He's not sure what else to say, that'll make her believe him. ]

Her lips press in a firm line. Much as she'd like to accuse him of showing off, it seemed like it just hadn't occurred to him that there would be any question of needing one. Well, what was she supposed to think? And for that matter, what was everyone else who lived on this planet supposed to think? (And how must they feel to see a stranger breathing their poison air?)
She attempts to sidestep her residual embarrassment.] I'm surprised you haven't been accosted by lawyers and merchants alike in your time here. When I purchased this mask, I had to sign a waiver.

[ He bluntly points to the wormskin. When people notice his alien looks, they easily dismiss the reasons for the lack of a breather. Most people here tend to look more humanoid. All it takes is a brief explanation and showing the wormskin to make people wary. ]
People are less likely to question what is strange.

I'd think they'd be more likely to question it.
[Her voice is a little faint, mostly because she is distracted. She wants to ask him if he is okay, if it hurts, but she'd done that once already. And really, she had distance to cover before dark.]

[ They probably did have questions, but none they'd say to Leto's face. The delight of having to deal with strangers. They remain on the fringes, never daring to come closer. And he prefers it that way. ]
I'm sure I'm not the only one who does not need a mask, though I will say that I am among the rarity.

She shifts her weight back.] I hope you enjoy the rest of your games, then.

[ He's not insulted or upset. Leto would strike anyone as odd that way, less for his skin and more for his continual congenial manner that never stops, never rests.
He gestures to the board. ]
Fancy a game before you go?

[Edmund did. Peter would much rather be moving, though he would occasionally sit across from Edmund and their battles would be epic. Lucy similarly didn't really have the patience for chess. Often Susan who'd stop what she was doing to play with Edmund when he wanted a match. She could give him one, but... that had been a long time ago.
She did want to get back to the wilderness today, but well. If he beat her, that wouldn't be a very long delay, and if he wanted a game she felt she might owe him the consideration to make up for how she'd charged over here. Might.]

It is your choice.
[ He had never played chess with Susan before. He knows it's not her preferred means of entertainment or sport. For Leto, there was no longer any pleasure in the physical acts of the hunt. There will be no more late nights of the twins sneaking out into the desert, pretending to be heroes and playing with scorpions.
They grew up. ]

So she fell onto a time honored tradition: Stall and get more information.]
Do you like chess?
[Or was he just passing time?]

[ It was one of those rare games that allows him to be tricked and surprised, that has people thinking in a creative manner. For all his coyness and mockery when it comes to expectations, Leto still holds hope for the surprise. ]
Though I'm told I'm a "mean" player.

[ But his tone is level and it's quite clear he's not bothered in any fashion. ]

[A wry smile and a bit of poking fun at herself, and she gives him a small nod before shifting her weight, ready to move on and leave him be.]
no subject
[ He gives a parting nod, polite. ]
