[boy oh boy, isn't everyone just so excited to explore this... charming... place...?

this is a game-wide mingle and the timeframe isn't super-important, so throw in with whatever you want! play war games, go shopping for gas masks, get lost in the wilderness, hide up in the Iskaulit and refuse to set foot on the moon, anything goes.

[Wanda returns the pail to it's original position, probably in a bit more clunky of a manner than she had meant. She turns her full attention to this strange woman, who apparently already knows her. This was certainly a weird position to be in, which suddenly gives her an insight into how so many others must have felt when she first arrived in the Fleet. There's a rather ironic humor to the moment, really.]

Yes, that is my name. Though you seem to have me at a disadvantage, as I do not know your's.

Kitty Pryde. Hi. I'm on Vision's ship. He mentioned you were here. [Which isn't exactly a full explanation of things, but a more understandable starting place maybe. She offers her hand for a shake which feels a little awkward to her, but what do you do in these situations?]

[Ah, she was a ship mate of Vision's. Wanda grins a little at that, as that does help to explain the situation. She returns the hand shake, though she is rather awkward about such things to, so it's a rather brief and not very strong shake.]

So Vision has been talking about me then?

[She's not sure how she feels about this...]

I was asking him about the other Avengers after telling him about the X-Men. [She wonders if that rings in bells for her, but based on what Vision said, she imagines if they do it's only from her time here.]

X-men?

[She mutters the question more to herself, feeling as though she's heard that name before. However, her next question she speaks up more, directing much more clearly at Kitty.]

So you know of the Avengers?

[Now, the question was... which Avengers...]

My team.

[She shakes her head.] Only what I've heard here [And a little back in the prison through...her kids actually] Some worlds seem to have both, but I don't think they ever formed back home. [She'd certainly never heard of them.] Wanda Maximoff was one of the first X-Men though.

[Wanda can't help but give Kitty a confused look. Even knowing this is just another example of multiple realities, and multiple versions of the same people, it is still a little off putting to hear.]

Me? I was one of these X-men?

Surprise? I know, it's strange. Vision said you weren't a mutant either which is kind of hard for me to wrap my head around.

Mutant?

[There is a slight tick of her head to the side. The term is both confusing, yet strangely familiar to her. She'd heard it used before in a similar context. She knows she has.]

Someone born with a difference in our DNA that gives us abilities. It's what I am. It's what you and Pietro were in my world.

Mutant...

[She says the word again, but this time sounding more like she's acclimating to the word. It was odd. There was a sense of pride behind the title, but also the sense that it could easily be used in an opposite fashion.]

So Pietro and I... we were both apart of these X-men?

That's right. Pietro was one of the team leaders. I fought beside him sometimes depending on how things were divided up. [She's trying to avoid the part about Wanda herself.]

So Pietro... he is still alive then, where you are from?

Oh... [She assumes that means he's died in hers.] I'm sorry. Vision didn't tell me. [He just said he'd only known him briefly.]

[But that question is slightly more complicated given that Kurt told her everyone dies, but...] He was last time I was home.

[Wanda shakes her head, signalling she puts no fault on Kitty or Vision for Pietro, or for bringing him up like this.]

It is all right. I wanted to know, so I asked.

[There is a small, sad smile on her face. Yet, it is not completely somber. A tinge of genuine hope and peace is there in her expression, as well. Even if Peitro is gone back home for her, the fact that he is alive in other worlds and times... in its own way, that thought was somehow soothing.]

Keep an eye on him.

[The words catch in her throat a little, but she recovers quickly. Quelling the sadness that momentarily threatened to bubble over.]

[She just met this woman. She didn't even know her world's Wanda personally but having her ask him to keep an eye on her world's Pietro kicks her right in the feelings.] There are a lot of people who watch out for him. X-Men look out for each other.

[And while she's not sure how long he has, she knows she's never going back herself, so that seems like the best answer. But his father is there and Storm. They both care a lot about him.

She's reminded of the story Rogue told her of Wanda asking her to watch out for her father as she died. They may be different people with different power sources, but that attachment to family even beyond their own needs seems shared.]

I'm sure he'd want me to do the same with you while we're both here.

[Wanda smiles and nods at that, a slight bubble of a tear threatens to drop, but she catches it quickly. She takes a deep breath, appears to settle herself, and then returns to a more calm, controlled demeanor.]

So people with powers, where you are from, they are called "mutants?"

[You're going to make her want to hug a stranger, aren't you? She resists but she feels for Wanda.]

The, um, surrounding alien cultures usually have certain powers too, but yeah, on earth it usually comes from being born with it like mutants or genetic experimentation.

So, where you are from, Pietro and I were born with our abilities?

That's right, but then somehow you still got the same ones? Which...is weird. At least he did. Super speed, right? Yours were more complicated and I never saw for myself. Well, until today. [Because of the pail and all.] I know there were things called hex bolts.

Hex bolts?

[That certainly was a new one. Kind of catchy though. She'll file that away for later...]

Yes, he did acquire super speed back home. And I... I suppose I do not have quite as simple a way to describe what I can do either. This...

[She gestures with her hand, referencing her display from earlier.]

Is just one part of it.

[If she could explain more she would.]

It seems similar at least? Maybe Kurt would have a better idea. He was with the X-Men before me. Not that it matters too much I guess. You're here and you're you. [She gives her a smile. Different person and not one she knew before, but for the sake of her Erik and Pietro she'd want to have her back if nothing else.]

Kurt!

[That's why the terms "mutants" and "X-men" had sounded so similar to her. Kurt had mentioned them when they first met.]

Kurt is from your home then, too?

Yes and no. I have a feeling you're thinking of adorable, punning Kurt who is a little younger than me? My Kurt is older and has a red mark over his eye. They're versions of the same person though.

[Wanda nods, smirks a little at that.]

I know the feeling.

It seems there are more versions of ourselves out there than I would have ever considered.
