[boy oh boy, isn't everyone just so excited to explore this... charming... place...?

this is a game-wide mingle and the timeframe isn't super-important, so throw in with whatever you want! play war games, go shopping for gas masks, get lost in the wilderness, hide up in the Iskaulit and refuse to set foot on the moon, anything goes.

Surprise? I know, it's strange. Vision said you weren't a mutant either which is kind of hard for me to wrap my head around.

Mutant?

[There is a slight tick of her head to the side. The term is both confusing, yet strangely familiar to her. She'd heard it used before in a similar context. She knows she has.]

Someone born with a difference in our DNA that gives us abilities. It's what I am. It's what you and Pietro were in my world.

Mutant...

[She says the word again, but this time sounding more like she's acclimating to the word. It was odd. There was a sense of pride behind the title, but also the sense that it could easily be used in an opposite fashion.]

So Pietro and I... we were both apart of these X-men?

That's right. Pietro was one of the team leaders. I fought beside him sometimes depending on how things were divided up. [She's trying to avoid the part about Wanda herself.]

So Pietro... he is still alive then, where you are from?

Oh... [She assumes that means he's died in hers.] I'm sorry. Vision didn't tell me. [He just said he'd only known him briefly.]

[But that question is slightly more complicated given that Kurt told her everyone dies, but...] He was last time I was home.

[Wanda shakes her head, signalling she puts no fault on Kitty or Vision for Pietro, or for bringing him up like this.]

It is all right. I wanted to know, so I asked.

[There is a small, sad smile on her face. Yet, it is not completely somber. A tinge of genuine hope and peace is there in her expression, as well. Even if Peitro is gone back home for her, the fact that he is alive in other worlds and times... in its own way, that thought was somehow soothing.]

Keep an eye on him.

[The words catch in her throat a little, but she recovers quickly. Quelling the sadness that momentarily threatened to bubble over.]

[She just met this woman. She didn't even know her world's Wanda personally but having her ask him to keep an eye on her world's Pietro kicks her right in the feelings.] There are a lot of people who watch out for him. X-Men look out for each other.

[And while she's not sure how long he has, she knows she's never going back herself, so that seems like the best answer. But his father is there and Storm. They both care a lot about him.

She's reminded of the story Rogue told her of Wanda asking her to watch out for her father as she died. They may be different people with different power sources, but that attachment to family even beyond their own needs seems shared.]

I'm sure he'd want me to do the same with you while we're both here.

[Wanda smiles and nods at that, a slight bubble of a tear threatens to drop, but she catches it quickly. She takes a deep breath, appears to settle herself, and then returns to a more calm, controlled demeanor.]

So people with powers, where you are from, they are called "mutants?"

[You're going to make her want to hug a stranger, aren't you? She resists but she feels for Wanda.]

The, um, surrounding alien cultures usually have certain powers too, but yeah, on earth it usually comes from being born with it like mutants or genetic experimentation.

So, where you are from, Pietro and I were born with our abilities?

That's right, but then somehow you still got the same ones? Which...is weird. At least he did. Super speed, right? Yours were more complicated and I never saw for myself. Well, until today. [Because of the pail and all.] I know there were things called hex bolts.

Hex bolts?

[That certainly was a new one. Kind of catchy though. She'll file that away for later...]

Yes, he did acquire super speed back home. And I... I suppose I do not have quite as simple a way to describe what I can do either. This...

[She gestures with her hand, referencing her display from earlier.]

Is just one part of it.

[If she could explain more she would.]

It seems similar at least? Maybe Kurt would have a better idea. He was with the X-Men before me. Not that it matters too much I guess. You're here and you're you. [She gives her a smile. Different person and not one she knew before, but for the sake of her Erik and Pietro she'd want to have her back if nothing else.]

Kurt!

[That's why the terms "mutants" and "X-men" had sounded so similar to her. Kurt had mentioned them when they first met.]

Kurt is from your home then, too?

Yes and no. I have a feeling you're thinking of adorable, punning Kurt who is a little younger than me? My Kurt is older and has a red mark over his eye. They're versions of the same person though.

[Wanda nods, smirks a little at that.]

I know the feeling.

It seems there are more versions of ourselves out there than I would have ever considered.

There was another Kitty at the last place I was at. It's...something to hang out with yourself. [She smiles and a soft laugh goes with it.]

[Wanda considers this for a moment. So far, she's only heard other person's accounts of other versions of herself. She has yet to actually meet any of them. She can't even begin to imagine what that would feel like. Though, there was a certain appeal to the concept, getting to meet yourself.]

I wonder if I would get along with myself...

[She muses, fairly nonchalant, out loud.]

Based on knowing you for ten minutes and what I heard about you back home I'd say yes. Probably. It's not without being extremely weird though.

Other Kitty and I usually kept some distance. I also ended up called "the older Kitty" a lot so, thanks for that, other me.

I guess I would be "the younger Wanda" then? If I were to meet the Wanda from your home?

[She hesitates looking thoughtful before taking a deeper breath.] I'm not sure exactly how old our Wanda was when she died.

[Yeah, that definitely leaves her stumped. How is she supposed to react to this? To hear that she, or a version of herself, is dead. It's both distancing, but also very intimate. She, herself, this Wanda is alive right here, right now. But another her, another Wanda, is dead? It was a weird thing to wrap her head around.]

She- She is dead?

I'm sorry. I do better with the truth. It's just that all the truth from home all kind of sucks.

She was still pretty young and Holocaust attacked. [He was called Nemesis back then but that's neither here nor there.] He was one of Apocalypse's horsemen. Ridiculously powerful. She protected a lot of people before he... [She waves her hand.]
