KATE BISHOP » throughout the first week
[ very early on, kate gets her hands on a sleek and stylish looking mask to help her very mortal and very human respiratory system filter out the lion's share of lethal toxins. one has to wonder if her entire wardrobe isn't filled with varied hues of purple and pink because -- no matter what day she's seen -- she always seems to match.
although she avoids a lot of conflicts on her own behalf, she often gets dragged into war games in loud and bold support of others. friends, perhaps. or crewmates. or maybe just some guy on the street whose cause seems worthwhile. after all, it's not as though the games are hurting anyone. and she particularly likes the paintball matches -- or anything that involves sharp aim, really. she's supportive of those on her team, but ruthless with those on the opposite. she might just pop out from behind a toxin-weakened tree and snipe you, fellow fleeter! or just maybe you got caught playing a strategy game with her, instead. your chances of winning would be better.
throughout the city, she hits the usual hotspots: shopping, shopping, and more shopping. but once that avenue is thoroughly exhausted (and it happens quick, given how over-saturated the hobby had been at the previous stop), kate turns to...other diversions. curious down to her bones, she spends an awful lot of time wandering the indoor museums. she's particularly struck by whatever passes for modern art on this moon. god, she could lose hours staring at walls and wide geometric prints...
finally, she uncovers something fantastic near the training grounds. although the moon is avowedly anti-violence and weapons are definitely on the blacklist, there's something universally sportsmanlike about a shooting competition. so long as the well-documented bows and arrows never leave the indoor training field (and so long as they're used in the pursuit of games greatness), she can book a range for an afternoon and lose herself in some proper archery. the arrows are blunted, but the feeling's the same. ]
BLAMELESS »
[ or catch her back on the blameless for meals, r&r, or other casual social needs. ]

But, he's just having a bit of fun and his bright red coat stands out like a sore thumb just begging to be hit. He was loudly chasing after a couple people he had run into earlier for a friendly game, so that might be the cause for the dramatics when Kate hits him.
His arms fly up in the air as he spins in a quick circle on his heel.] I'm hit! Oh no! I knew I was too good for this world!
[Vash falls onto his back with a thump.] Tell my wife and kids that I love them! Ugh! [Then suddenly, he is 'dead'.]
no subject
she can't applaud with her gun in hand, so she flashes the man in the red coat an enthusiastic thumbs up. ] Encore, [ she prompts. ] Encore!
no subject
[He twitches and gurgles. Rolling around on the ground.] Ouch! Ah! They got me captain! The world! It's growing cold and dark! Make sure you avenge me! AVENGE ME!!
[Then suddenly all the energy he was rolling about with stops in an instant as his arms fall to the ground in 'death'.]
no subject
laughing, she sinks to her knees. ] Consider yourself officially avenged.

action > museum
I feel like this is too many layers. I have a hard enough time with some of the modern art on Earth... Moon alien modern art might be too far removed, you know?
action > museum
she shifts her posture and glances at the blonde. ] Tell me about it. But -- it's good to know that some things are universal. Like pretentious art. [ ... ] Aaand museum donation drives.
[ with a girlish smile, she tips her head towards a 'donate!' bin not far from the museum's entrance. ]
no subject
But at least there's a museum at all. That really shows that there's at least some appreciation for this art by someone. What do you think this is painted with?
[ she tilts her head. maybe it'd make more sense if she were an alien with an upside down head ]

I expected more landscapes. You know, hopeful nostalgic greenery. But I guess that's just a little too tragic for the locals.

Her instinct was to be friendly. And why not? Rogue might not be Rogue, like from home, but the one time Kate had seen the Rogue from home she'd been...cool, actually. And supportive. And learning that there was another version knocking 'round the fleet along with the rest of their patchwork quilt of masks? It wasn't a terrible thing.
Kate ignored some of the larger (and certainly stunning) hanging pieces as she crossed the wide gallery-room to join Rogue on her bench. "I'm not interrupting, am I?"
no subject
If 'interesting' was the word. "How ya been, Kate?"
no subject
She curled her fingers beneath the bench's edge and crossed her legs at the ankles.
"-- I'm just taking the opportunity to get off the damn ship, mostly. We're still stuck with these summer camp style bunks in one shared room. It's been trying."

MOON »

when the metal arm pulls back behind the wall, kate huffs quietly under her breath and jerks her paint gun's barrel up -- abandoning the shot she'd been lining up with painstaking care. she drops the piece and lets it hang from a sling across her chest before shimmying up an old gnarled half-dead tree so she can shimmy across a crumbling bit of once-upon-a-building.
is bucky barnes here? nah, jump-to-conclusions kate! that's just weird wishful thinking. she crawls along the abandoned stone and tries to get closer to the wall where she last saw the flash. ]
no subject
He's done well to avoid all the other participants, but what form of soldier would he be if he allowed himself to be fired at? Once he's down the wall, he climbs into a trench, sticking to the shadows until it ends. Anyone who happens to be in the way? Well, cannon fodder. Winter scans the area and deems it empty before slinking out of the trench and taking cover behind a partially-collapsed wall.
His finger rests against the trigger, ready to fire. Waiting for his target to come into position. ]
no subject
(and some knotted over-confident part of her wants to impress him.)
kate eases her gun forward and watches the shadows. he's somewhere in there, but she can't be certain of any exact location. oh, what she wouldn't give right now for her bow and quiver. a concussive arrow would be great, right now. or a flash-bang tip. as much as she rags on clint for his trick arrows, they did have some uses.
aw, hell. kate scatters a pair of purposefully poorly aimed shots -- marking the far wall with two purple splotches. she doubts he'll be spooked (if it's really him) but it at least would make her a target, and so long as she rolls away quick enough she might catch a glimpse of him when he raises his gun.
or she might get shot for her trouble. somehow, the risk seems worth it. ]
no subject
No. He would have heard the footsteps. There don't seem to be any other players this far out.
Fair enough, he's quick, so this little game may not go in their favor. Winter jumps up, standing on the top of the wall and doing a quick sweep of the area, gun poised to shoot first and ask questions later. ]
