this is a game-wide mingle and the timeframe isn't super-important, so throw in with whatever you want! play war games, go shopping for gas masks, get lost in the wilderness, hide up in the Iskaulit and refuse to set foot on the moon, anything goes.

[Finn whistles appreciatively.] Nice. Was hoping we'd get those here, but it's all barracks-style. Nothing I'm not used to. But I heard we can upgrade once we get enough money? [He sounds a little doubtful, because in all honesty Finn's never handled money before.]

Yeah. Uh, you want anything to eat first or should we get going?

Is that how it works? No idea. How do we get money anyway? Regular paychecks or something?

If you have a ration bar or something you can throw at me, that would probably be a good idea. I'm not really hungry, but who knows if I even have the credits for food down on the moon.

Your ratings go up and you get money? I'm not really sure how it works, but I have more every day. I think getting into the war games helps. [Especially that mud-wrestling one. His account skyrocketed after that.]

Yeah, c'mon. [He takes Poe's hand to lead him back to the galley, releasing it once they reach the seating area.] Most of what we got is protein gel but you can make it harder or softer and there's about twenty different flavors, plus spices and some other dried food.

[He grabs his snack from before and munches on it idly.]

Huh. I guess... I should try that out. [He sounds really doubtful. He's a pilot, not some kind of actor. Though he's guessing Finn's been doing well because he's got a great personality and looks damn good. Well... Poe knows he looks okay enough, so maybe he can manage something. The squad used to joke he should be on recruitment posters, but being a picture is different from... whatever they're supposed to be doing.]

[Not really expecting Finn to grab his hand like that, but sure.] All right, let's see...

[He pokes through what they have and makes himself something savory with a passable texture. He's no great cook, but it's edible, which is all he really cares about right now.

He sits down across from Finn and stretches his legs out. ] So what kind of war games do they have? Anything we can clean up at?

[Finn hasn't even tried all the flavor and texture combinations yet, so it's good enough for him. He leaves the actual cooking with ingredients to the others, though.]

You any good with hoverskiffs? There's a paintball race, but I'd need a driver. Lots of stuff with hand-to-hand or practice weapons, lots of strategy games. And there's probably more I haven't even seen yet. You do need a breath mask but you can borrow one of the ones I bought until you get some ratings.

[He might be a little susceptible to suggestion and bought all the ones recommended to him.]

They seem awful obsessed with war. I guess I could give some of that shot. Though I'm not nearly as good with a blaster as you are.

Thought so. [Shame he hasn't seen anything with real trick flying, but they seem pretty landbound here.] We should check those out, then.

The guns here are all air rifles and popguns or paintball or something else, anyway. Principle's the same as a blaster, though. [He flashes Poe a grin; that's what Poe had said about the weapons on the TIE fighter, after all.]

No problem. I even got one looks like a bird, if you want to show you like to fly.

You know I'm game. [It'd be nice to do some flying just for fun. When people aren't trying to literally kill him. Even if it won't be quite the same kind of rush.]

[He knows what you did there, Finn.] That sounds pretty complicated. [Grin.] Think I can give it a shot, though.

Good. I bet we can win, or even if we don't we might get money from the ratings anyway.

[Oh good, he did catch that.] I bet you'll be fine.

Hell yeah we're gonna win. Best pilot in the Resistance and bravest fighter? Couldn't lose.

Oh, only three. [Finn, who the hell needs three oxygen masks, seriously.] That sounds... eclectic?

[Finn smiles and looks down for a moment.] You say that like everyone in the Resistance isn't brave.

[But that gets him to laugh.] One heavy-duty one for exploring outside the city, one that won't get caught on anything in a game, and one to look good with.

None of the rest of us made the call to leave behind everything we knew. You risked a lot.

Poe finishes bolting down his food quickly. Habit.]

[He's finished too, so he tosses the dishes into the sanitizer and leads Poe over to the sleeping quarters. As mentioned it's one big barracks, but he has enough space to keep his personal items in a trunk. He grabs the black leather mask with gold filigree detailing on it and holds up two for Poe: a bird mask or a translucent but heavy-duty-looking one.]

[Well, he can't resist it. He goes for the fancier mask. He likes things kind of flashy.]

[Finn sets the translucent one down and grabs the other for himself.]

We can shop for one for you, too. You should have enough money for the basic ones, anyway.

[He grins and reaches over to squeeze Poe's shoulder.]

Glad to have you here, Poe. It's good to know I have a friend I can count on.

You can show me the rope on the money. [He doesn't even know how to check on his balance yet.

Aw, he claps Finn on the arm.]

I bet you landed on your feet. But you know I've got your back, every time.

It's not too hard. [It can't be, if he figured it out. Finn's never had to actually use money before in his life. In fact, he'll give Poe the basics on the shuttle ride to the moon.]

People have been pretty helpful. Lot of different places, different times, but it seems like a good bunch.

[Yeah, he's fine with money once he knows where to look. The amount in his account seems very small, but he's just starting. He'll have to be careful, is all.]

What I've found so far too. Not a bad crew to be stuck in a weird situation with, huh. Everyone's just trying to do the best they can.

[Not having to blow it all on a mask right away should help, too. This way they can get right to exploring, and Finn narrates his discoveries so far as they head into the spaceport.]

What are you thinking we might want to stock up on? [Chemicals sounds kind of... nebulous. He's not an engineer or anything. He can do emergency repairs on an X-wing with luck and the right tools, but that's really where his expertise outside of piloting begins and ends.]

At least the food on the ships is already good. Sounds like you've really got the lay of this place already.

[He shrugs.] Anything on the list the captain or engineers give me, I guess. [Finn is assuming they have a list. It might not be a correct assumption.]

Yeah, I was afraid it was going to be a lot worse. [Though there are some "restaurants" on the moon. Finn isn't quite sure how they work, so maybe Poe can show him.]

It's not too bad, figuring it all out. The ships are pretty small, and you don't have to go anywhere else if you don't want.

Ah, gotcha. Your captain's pretty organized. They going to pay you back for the money you spend though?

I better try to hang out with my crew some later. Get to know them. They seem like a decent bunch at first glance though.
