first one to make that doctor who joke loses

Who: Everyone! All of you!
Broadcast: Maybe!
Action: Definitely!
When: Anytime during the toxic moon event!

[boy oh boy, isn't everyone just so excited to explore this... charming... place...?

this is a game-wide mingle and the timeframe isn't super-important, so throw in with whatever you want! play war games, go shopping for gas masks, get lost in the wilderness, hide up in the Iskaulit and refuse to set foot on the moon, anything goes.

here's the main event info post for reference! have fun!]

[He glances at Leto before moving his castle up three spaces, aiming to hit one of Leto's knights within a handful of moves.]

Fine, I suppose. The ship I'm on seems decent enough.

Not as hectic as being on a team, I imagine.

[ Though a little too quiet for his tastes. ]
grandstanding: (Yes everyone here seems competent)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-03-31 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
[There is it again, that strange knowledge. That's old ground though, one he's fine to cover.]

No, but few things are.

[Not here, not anywhere.]
precedented: (It's so easy to civilize)

[personal profile] precedented 2016-03-31 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
[ He smiles, nostalgic. ]

Nothing does compare to being on a team.
grandstanding: (I read your thesis and it sucked)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-03-31 09:08 am (UTC)(link)
[A family might. He chases that thought away.]

Still, the intention was always that you would leave them when it was time to go home.

Of course. It is important to know when to stay and when to part ways. I did, long ago.
grandstanding: (Intellectualisms.)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-03-31 10:10 am (UTC)(link)
Is that right.

[Since he's just taken one of Leto's pawn, he'll follow that up.] And what did Aather do, for those it sent home?

It gave a wish. For heroic service, apparently. One could choose to continue to work at Aather or return home. The choice was ours.
grandstanding: (We'll always have Paris)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-03-31 10:24 am (UTC)(link)
Why on earth would anyone want to stay.

[He skips right over the wish. They're pointless things that never work.]
precedented: (Who knows the art of ruling)

Aather was a gentler world than the ones you're used to. Less chaotic, less . . . determined to push you down under the heel.

[ He toys with the rook. ] I may not have liked the Personae, but their intentions were pure. The world we were in was a world we changed, created through our own actions.

Oh, it had its difficulties, but teams trusted each other. Listened to each other. I don't blame people for staying though I can't say I fathom it.

[ His gaze flickers back to Erik. ]

The Library. The Mirror Realms. They were weak, underdeveloped copies run by beings with no foresight, no concept of an ending.
grandstanding: (This hat is for business.)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-03-31 10:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Ah, so here was someone who'd bought into whatever system was being run. 'Their intentions were pure' - Erik doubts that very much. Good intentions have paved the way to plenty of wrongdoing. If there were teams, if the structure was similar enough that Leto insisted on drawing comparisons... then it wasn't so. He didn't need proof of that.

His expression, not that open to begin with, shutters further. He ignores the niceties, descriptions of things he doesn't care about. (Not anymore.)]

And what makes you think theirs was the copy? Others have existed.
precedented: (By this you are truly known)

[personal profile] precedented 2016-03-31 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
True. I never said Aather wasn't a copy in its own right. Simply . . . different.

[ He shrugs, moving his rook forward. ]

Whether you believe it or not is, of course, your decision.
grandstanding: (I can't stand this indecision)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-03-31 10:53 am (UTC)(link)
[No, what he said was that it was better. In his implications, if not in his words.]

Well, thank goodness for that.

[Shifts his queen back four spaces.]
precedented: (A wall against the wind)

[personal profile] precedented 2016-03-31 10:54 am (UTC)(link)
[ He hums, chasing after her. ]

You did ask.
precedented: (And when it has gone past)

[personal profile] precedented 2016-03-31 10:58 am (UTC)(link)
[ He chuckles softly, knocking down a pawn. ]

Do you find me that unbearable?
grandstanding: (But I haven't got the time)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-03-31 11:01 am (UTC)(link)
You're talking about things you shouldn't know, that I haven't told you.

[It sets his teeth on edge, because it's familiar. Like Charles. Only this was entirely alien to him, and wearing a somewhat familiar face.]
precedented: (Parting with friends is a sadness)

[personal profile] precedented 2016-03-31 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
If it helps, I cannot perceive your thoughts or mind. Unfortunately, there is only so much . . . control I am afforded with my abilities.

[ It's not placating. He's well aware of how it comes across and he'll make no excuses for it. But he won't make excuses for how he is either. ]
grandstanding: (Anywhere I would've followed you)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-04-01 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
[He glowers, and falls silent. But only until he makes enough moves to capture Leto's pawn.]

What are those, then?

[And what are you, goes unsaid.]
precedented: (Remove a threat to its kind)

[personal profile] precedented 2016-04-01 08:43 am (UTC)(link)
I can perceive time. The probabilities in time. What was, what is and what could be.

[ He fiddles with the queen briefly. ]

It's an ability afforded to me by . . . ah, certain genetics. My father was an . . . experiment of sorts. I'm the end result.
grandstanding: (To end this way)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-04-01 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
[An experiment. Even now, it chills him somewhat. The idea of perceiving time is even stranger, despite his recent experiences with the vagaries of time travel. He fixes Leto with a considering look, before returning his gaze to the board.]

Does that make you some kind of prophet?
precedented: (There is no escape)

[personal profile] precedented 2016-04-01 09:04 am (UTC)(link)
[ That word makes him scowl, so he turns his gaze. ]

Of a kind, yes. They wanted someone who could see all avenues of time. My father could, but I can see a little further.
grandstanding: (Don't do what you'll regret)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-04-01 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
[Seems like he struck a nerve.]

Even in a place like this? [Where so many realities are colliding, meshing and clashing together.]
precedented: (Where you dare not look!)

[personal profile] precedented 2016-04-01 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
Time is time. It may slow down or speed up, differ from the reality you know, but it is no less the same. That doesn't mean what I know is final. I simply know . . . all possibilities.
grandstanding: (Remember how it was last year.)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-04-01 09:45 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm.

[He lets that sit, after Leto is done talking. A few moves later, he moves a knight into position.]

Check.
