[ Kara moves toward the overturned cup, picking up the brushes in an attempt to help him out. Her mask (pretty, blue, plain) is around her neck and her hair is in a ponytail. She's quick to pick the brushes up, though not quick enough to stop the cup from spilling ]

Oh, oops! Let me help.

Ah, thanks. [He grabs a cloth and wipes the paint off his hands before using it to mop up the water. Once all the water's up, he remembers to actually look up at her. He smiles, laughing softly.] Thank you. I've been at this for a while and I'm pretty tired. Useless foot, [he grumbles, frowning down at his dress shoe.]

Well, the effort isn't going to waste. It looks great. Did you just come up with the design?

Yeah, sort of. I mean, the shopkeeper told me what she likes, about the way these people like greenery on their walls since they can't have it outside. But I sketched out something rough in my journal, and then I just went to town.

It's a struggle for me, honestly. I agonize over my art most of the time. Not over things like this, [he gestures to the painting.] but over portraits. I've never really been naturally talented at it. My mother just wanted my interests to be varied, and then I kept it up for work.
