first one to make that doctor who joke loses

Who: Everyone! All of you!
Broadcast: Maybe!
Action: Definitely!
When: Anytime during the toxic moon event!

---

[boy oh boy, isn't everyone just so excited to explore this... charming... place...?

this is a game-wide mingle and the timeframe isn't super-important, so throw in with whatever you want! play war games, go shopping for gas masks, get lost in the wilderness, hide up in the Iskaulit and refuse to set foot on the moon, anything goes.

here's the main event info post for reference! have fun!]

[Felix straightens with a grin, having had his question apparently answered]

Something like that. Looking for the mysteries of the universe? [He gestured at the display]
universal_charm: (Flirty Smile)

Always, but in this case it's just looking for some other color besides gray.

[ He looked at Felix and his eyes settled on the bright red hair and his bi-colored eyes. ]

Though you're the brightest thing I've seen today by far.
lord_wizard: (cocky)

[personal profile] lord_wizard 2016-04-11 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[His smile is bright enough to light a room.]

That's the best compliment I've gotten in awhile.

[He glances around]

Though it seems hardly fair to compare.
universal_charm: (Lip Bite)

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-04-11 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He finds he likes that smile on Felix. It suits him. ]

You say that as if there's anything that could compare to you anyways.

[ He bit his lower lip coyly for a moment, waiting to see if he had laid it on to thick. He was sure he had, but that was part of the teasing and flirting game. Being a cheeseball could be fun. ]
lord_wizard: (cocky)

[personal profile] lord_wizard 2016-04-12 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[His smile subsides into something warmer, mouth crooked in obvious amusement at the calculated lack of subtlety on Kirk's part. It tells him the interest is there, but it's only half the equation. Like himself, it's just as much about doing it because you could.]

You're appealing to my vanity, Mister Kirk.

[He leans just a bit closer, the smirk magnifying]

I like you.

universal_charm: (Default)

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-04-13 05:58 am (UTC)(link)

[ Oh there was definitely an interest. How could there not be? But he had the fine reputation of flirting with just about anyone or anything, regardless of if it gained him anything at all or even earned him a slap. Which it had, in the past. This was much nicer, though. ]

Really? What a coincidence. I rather like you too, Mister Felix.

[ He does not lean away from Felix, but does not move to make them closer either. His smirk says it's not from lack of interest, but challenge, his eyes sparking with an inherent mischief. ]

I have a thing for red heads with pretty eyes who come around museums.

lord_wizard: (aristocrat)

[personal profile] lord_wizard 2016-04-15 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
[If it's a challenge, it's Felix that balks first. He straightens again, though still smiling. It isn't to say he isn't interested at all; Kirk was clearly well-spoken, handsome, and charming, and while he had made no promises, the thought of Crowley makes him, in the very least, decide to be far less impulsive. Besides, he hadn't come to a museum to go trawling.]

You have a very specific type.
universal_charm: (Soft Laugh)

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-04-18 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
[ It's a game more than a challenge, a familiar one - comforting because of its familiarity. But he sees the balk for what it is, and decides to pull back on the flirting just a little, at least until he gets another signal he can push a bit harder again. He really like Felix, even from just one conversation. He would hate to scare him off.

So he shrugs and smiles as he regards the pieces in front of them once more. ]

It touches on all those things I like - something gorgeous to look at, and intelligent.

I'm actually impressed they have a museum here at all.
lord_wizard: (intense)

[personal profile] lord_wizard 2016-04-18 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[He is intensely grateful for the, at least temporary, withdrawal on Kirk's part. A measure of tension leaves his posture and the line of his lips as he nods]

As am I, actually, though I can't point to any one reasoning for that notion.

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-04-22 04:22 am (UTC)(link)

I think it's because I feel like they're a young settlement, and with the pollution issue - it just don't feel like a museum would have been the sort of thing they would need, and there they wouldn't put the resources into it.

[ That was the only way he could explain it, personally speaking. ]

Makes you wonder why they felt it was important.

lord_wizard: (serious)

[personal profile] lord_wizard 2016-04-22 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[He presses his palms together in contemplation]

There are usually only two reasons to record history. One is vanity - the hope that people who you will never know will remember you or your deeds in some way. I would have said they were beyond that, but it's clear they find time for vanity in their own way. The second is to make certain the past is remembered so that others may learn from it.

I'm not sure they could do any more damage to this planet than they have already, but I can understand how they would not wish to try.
universal_charm: (Serious Blue Stare)

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-04-25 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
[ He listens quietly, curious to Felix's point of view, and finding it rather insightful. He can see his point of view, and it rings true in many ways even for his own people back on Earth.

His mouth twitches at the last comment, almost stretched thin in a hard line. ]

Oh, there could be worse. Trust me. But hopefully they never get there.

Maybe this place is just meant to be colorful since the rest of their planet has been practically leeched of it.
lord_wizard: (neutral)

[personal profile] lord_wizard 2016-04-26 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
I admit I'm still rather at a loss to understand how it is they allowed such a thing to happen in the first place.

[Kirk, however, seems to have a better grasp about these things, and it's said in a way that it can be taken as a question.]
universal_charm: (Look Back)

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-04-26 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a bit at a loss too, but I haven't come across much information to help in that area.

[ He shook his head, his brow creased ever so slightly in frustration on that point. ]

It may be that things just spiraled out of control, or that they didn't notice before it was to late. The machinery could have malfunctioned. I don't see them having done this on purpose, to say the least.
lord_wizard: (aristocrat)

[personal profile] lord_wizard 2016-04-26 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I imagine so. A person can destroy themselves intentionally [there's a note of wryness because he has], but it would take far unanimity for a whole planet to decide that for themselves. This sort of thing...

[He gestures around them]

...this speaks of hope. And hope is incongruous with suicide.

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-04-28 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
[ He nods quietly. ]

Hope. I can see that. And a reminder for the future not to repeat their mistakes. It makes me wonder about their original culture though - the one they came from. Is any of this representative of it? Or are they making something new? Did they leave because they are so different from the major one on their home planet?

Those are questions a bit too complex for paintings on the wall, I think. Perhaps if I can locate a library...

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-05-11 04:36 am (UTC)(link)

They might have one, especially if they have a museum. But it might not be what you expect. If I was a colonizing world, I would store that sort of thing as data, not physical books.

lord_wizard: (hand on hips)

[personal profile] lord_wizard 2016-05-12 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
[He sighs heavily]

I find myself unable to quell my disappointment in that fact, even if I understand the reasons.
universal_charm: (Default)

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-05-18 04:12 am (UTC)(link)

[ He grins. ]

I understand. On my ship, I kept physical books as well. I think it baffled my officers.

lord_wizard: (aristocrat)

[personal profile] lord_wizard 2016-05-24 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
And why is that?
universal_charm: (Default)

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-05-24 02:40 am (UTC)(link)

Where I am from, physical books are a rarity. They take up unnecessary space, for one, and most media is released via digital means now. Easier to disseminate too.
