Shopping

[Despite the early disappointment of finding a mass of red tape between him and the acquisition of another sword, Kurt's found enough to keep him looking. He's already acquired a stealthier gas mask, and at points can be caught eyeing some of the more intricate masks available. Otherwise, he can most often be found inspecting or lightheartedly haggling over the prices of some of the medicines available.

(The especially stealthy might catch him eyeing the poisons as well when he thinks no one's paying attention to him.)]

Exploring (The City/War Games)

[The very first thing Kurt does is try to walk up the outside of a building. Finding it possible, albeit somehow strange under his covered feet (he broke down and wore his X-Force boots to visit the planet), that tends to be how he's traveling until something on the ground catches his eye. Given the state of the planet's air, he's loathe to teleport often.

The war games tend to bring him down most often, though once he notices the lack of weapons Kurt does his best to bow out of participation. He seems most interested in what happens when a participant or two goes too far, and can be found either watching the games or asking a native questions about the history of.]

Exploring (The Woods)

[This is the part of the planet that he finds the most like his home, and it can be seen in the comfort in which he moves. Mostly he keeps to the trees, jumping from branch to fragile branch with an inhuman grace. This is when he's the most likely to be found running around on all fours, far from civilization and (he hopes) anyone who'll mistake him for a particularly humanoid pet.

At points, he will get bored and start randomly following fellow woodland explorers, counting on his ability to blend into the shadows to keep him from being easily spotted.]

Other Ships

[Particularly during the early days, Kurt will try using the distraction of the new moon to snoop around the other ships. Here as with his own he'll keep to the ceiling, inspecting the corridors and rooms of each ship he manages to sneak onto. He won't take a particular interest in the sleeping quarters this time around, poking his head in just long enough to verify their location before moving on. His main objective is to try creating blueprints for each ship in the Fleet, not to snoop in other people's personal belongings. However, if he should spy something particularly interesting left laying about, well. He can spare a glance.

If he happens to be invited to said ship instead of sneaking, that's a whole new ball game.]

[While Kurt is out being one with wrecked nature Kitty is using it to test her new claws. There's just one set on her right wrist which stands out in brass instead of her usual adamantium silver. She's not surprised she couldn't find the alloy at the station or here. She is surprised how few people have ever even heard of it, but it's an old sort of surprise that started back in the prison. The brass is just a prototype for now and she's trying to get comfortable with them so she can give Erik tweaks for the final sets once one of them scavenges some denser metal.

She's taking some powerful swipes at a dead tree when she gets the feeling she's not alone. Turning her head toward the shadowy trees, she calls out.]

( a ) SHOPPING.

[ Hawke takes just about any chance to stretch her legs which means shopping, specifically for a mask so not to find herself overcome by the polluted air. So naturally it's her first stop, wandering amongst what is available scanning all with a rather critical eye.

Until she settles on a mask that covers her mouth, shaped like the beak of a hawk. Naturally she simply had to have it. ]

( B ) WAR GAMES.

[ The common misconception circling Thedas is that mages aren't scrappers, they don't fist fight, they stick to the back lines, and can be balled over easily by those favoring the more up front approach. This, frankly, is utter bullshit made up by someone who clearly hasn't met the likes of Marian Hawke. The horror of Lothering, one girl wrecking crew, bringer down of bullies and jerk wards alike.

She scrapes with the best of them, spending a fair amount of time boxing. Naturally it lands her a good few scrapes and bruises, most being her own fault. It's what happens when a few hits land below belt or arms start flailing due to dust in eyes.

Either way Hawke is clearly enjoying herself, the chance to punch something rather square in the jaw is something she has missed for some time or regardless of what happens, of how many times she gets disqualified, just beaten, or wins herself there is a giant grin on her face. ]

( c ) WILDERNESS.

[ When not in the middle of a boxing match or anything else likely to get herself in trouble Hawke explores the wilderness with her beak shaped hawk mask. Trudging through tall trees and hills until finally─

Hawke ends up terribly and utterly lost.

Somewhere along the line she lost her way and started walking in circles, passing the same half fallen tree at least half a dozen times. At first it didn't dissuade her, getting lost is something she is somewhat familiar with, but after an hour of walking in circles and finding herself once again at the same tree? Well frustration got the better of her.

So now the famed Champion of Kirkwall sits upon the half fallen tree, legs crossed and brow narrowed in the only visible display of her mood. ]

[Despite how he says he often misses home, Fenris absolutely does not miss getting lost in the wilderness, in the middle of buttfuck nowhere for whatever the hell reason Hawke decides they needed to be in the middle of buttfuck nowhere on that particular day. He doesn't miss that at all.

As such, he will exhale LOUDLY, to show his displeasure in all of this, leaning on the only upright part of the tree, arms folded. ]

[The first time Castle had gotten dragged into one of the war games, he'd participated with enthusiasm, though had done poorly. This, for some reason, endeared him to the people of this planet, so more and more often he'd challenge others to contests of paintball, or sparring with wooden sticks.

But because his physical prowess wasn't the best, he'd often come back to the Windrose with bruises and paint all over himself.

The cleaning bots were not pleased.

declining for Health Reasons;

[It's not a vanity thing, is what Mikleo tells himself, as he ventures onto the first real land he's reached since joining the fleet and doesn't take one of the gas masks. The natives of the area don't even notice him, anyway, so it isn't like one was offered in the first place. Masks like that are kind of pointless when you don't even need to breathe, though it does take conscious effort for a while to not do it naturally. Growing up side by side with a human made it kind of a habit.

He does take one eventually, either because he's convinced to try it out or because he's curious about whether or not it makes a difference. (Spoiler: it does not.) For those without resonance, enjoy the mask floating around by itself through town. The residents totally are. (Spoiler: they are not.)]


nothing a little purification can't fix;

[Before long, the mask is recognized as a total bust. Super pointless, and it gets him too much unwanted attention, so off it goes. With it gone, he's free to fully experience what he's felt the moment his foot hit the natural ground- just how deep the sickness of this world is, how ingrained into both nature and culture it's become. He can feel it with every step, every gesture. He reaches out to the water buried under layers of chemicals and it practically burns. On the station, and on the ships, Mikleo had thought that the lack of connection to life had been bad, but here, it's even worse. The whole place is a mess of suffering, but the residents don't even feel it.

Determined to make a difference, Mikleo finds whatever water he can access - a well, a river, a lake, anything will do - summons his staff, and begins the purification process. It's not like purifying malevolence. This isn't Lailah's power, nor the Shepherd's. It's his, the very language of his element, ingrained in his very being. He reaches for the water again, more firmly this time, and he pulls it out, chemicals and all, drawing it into himself and letting the sludge fall away on the ground near where he works, then releasing the clean water before repeating the process. The piles of sludge he leaves alone, for people to notice and wonder about- let the mortals living here clean up the mess left behind. What's been done to this world is hideous, and he's geniunely angry about it.

It's endless work- the water continues to flow, and the pollution runs deep - but he'll be at it for a while. He can't not do this.]

It's a nice reprieve from being on the polluted moon. Not the ideal place for a rest stop, but she'd been spending time on land to heal those taking part in the war games. Much of it took up her energy and she needed to stop before straining her mana lobe far too much.

She roams the halls of the ship, poking her head around (except in other people's private quarters) to find a familiar face or perhaps pick up on Mikleo's presence. ]

[Poe just got shuffled here, so he wants to take time to familiarize himself with the ship and the shuttles--and the crew, of course! He's a friendly guy, so he's happy to shoot the shit with anyone.

He wants to take the ship itself on a few short flights, try out some maneuvers, check the top speed, all that. And with the shuttles as well. Anyone want to go on a run with him?]

B: Games

[He's up for some team sports, actually, even if it's kind of weird to get dragged into them randomly. Less in to getting handed a foam bat and being told he needs to have it out with someone he's never even met before.

But hey, maybe it's a way to get to know some people? He's ambivalent about paintball at first, but once he gets in to it, he seems to be having way too much fun.]

C: Anything you want

[Not much of a clothes horse himself, but if you want to drag him shopping, he's happy to carry some bags and have fun. Really, Poe's just in everything right now to try to relax and decompress. He's had a stressful life recently. And even if there's the nagging feeling that he really needs to be back and flying for the Resistance, there's nothing he can do about it right now--so he's going to treat this like some long overdo leave.]

A. Shopping

[Fuck, and she thought the Deep Roads' air was awful. This place takes the cake.

Given that she barely shopped at all on the last stop, she's going full stop here. Clothes, in particular. But of course, a mask as well. The thing is awkward; she's used to helmets, but here the weight is distributed all wrong.

So she can be found in the stores, finally expanding her wardrobe and also purchasing a mask while she's at it. At first, she waffles between the classier looking masks... until she finds one that has the face of a dog bearing its teeth. Then of course she gets that one, because she is nothing if not predictable and Fereldan.]

B. Wilderness

[One would think that after wandering around the country for the better part of a year that she'd want nothing to do with exploring. But in fact, Riona rather misses it. And thus, once a mask and decent exploration clothes are purchased, she's off exploring the forests, a small pack in tow. Her sword is with her, of course; there's no telling what she might run into out here.]

C. Iskaulit / Blue Fish

[...but honestly, besides the above? She's not having much of this place.

Strangely, the war games don't appeal to her much. It's mostly because she wore herself out on fighting and whatnot on the last stop. Too much underground fighting rings for this girl. And she's got other things on her mind that ruin her taste for the games, anyway.

So she'll be sticking to her ship, or occasionally going onto the Iskaulit, either to explore it or to hang out at Varric's bar.]

[ margaery observes her from a distance for a moment or two. she, too, takes great interest in the manner of clothing. she is in pale pink silks today, a match to a mask of faux flowers hanged around her neck like a necklace. the fashions are so odd but if given enough good fabric, she has able fingers and could, mayhaps, make her own gown out of them. she is not as exceptional in the craft as the seamstresses of highgarden, but either way it is better than what she had seen others wearing. ]

None shall guess a lady so beautiful is hiding underneath.

[ it'll be a few days after coming into range of the star system that tadashi messages nanako. ugh - the air was awful and he's taking pains to spend as little time as possible planetside. he's sure he's not the only one going stir-crazy. ever the big brother, he decides that he might as well check on people while he can.

[The planet mostly sucks. Toph discovers that their first day on the ground. She likes the outside, but thanks to stupid people and their mess ups or whatever, she can't leave without a weird thing on her face.

She figures if she's miserable, so are her friends. Allowing one to pick her mask out for her seems a good way to kill time. Narrowing it down to who is an easy process: Zuko was never an option, she already helped Sokka kidnap a robot, and Allen's got a horrible sense of style (so she's heard). That only leaves one candidate.]

Katara, are we almost there?

[ After some deliberation, Obi-Wan decides to take up Kirk's offer. He does enjoy exploration and cataloguing new species (something Anakin cares very little about) and it would be interesting to see what kind of information might arise from learning of new planets. Perhaps they might help them out later along their travels.

So once he contacts Kirk, he waits outside the forest in nice clean robes. ]

[ He had a bad feeling.

Which is nothing new, it just seems to grow exponentially as he followed Padmé. He had half a mind to contact Anakin, but Padmé seemed determined to keep moving and Obi-Wan didn't want to let her out of his sight.

He sighed. He had a feeling this was going to be one of those days. ]

[ The twelve-year-old mage can be found shopping for anything useful, taking over Cassandra's duty of keeping together an emergency supply cache for the Pathstone. She's outfitted in a plain, practical dress and since it's slightly easier to breathe indoors, she has her cute, pink gas mask pulled over her head. She has also made it a habit to carry around her staff with her, just in case she runs into any trouble.

As she examines items in the shops, she carefully inspects everything, checking for any safety or warning labels. Especially since the moon's polluted, she wants to make sure whatever she's going to add to the Pathstone supplies is safe. ]

b. War Games Medic

[ Elize isn't a participant in any of the games, but she's sticking around whenever a violent game suddenly takes place. It startles her to watch, yet she waits until the games are over to provide healing. Some of the players are playing too rough to the point that they're unable to drag themselves to a medical station.

If you're nearby, you might see a little girl in a pink gas mask, running towards every injured person that she finds, casting a healing spell. Her spell takes a few seconds for her to cast, accompanied by a circle of glowing light that shows up briefly underneath the injured before fading away. Maybe you're that injured person that got involved in one of the games.

Or you might stumble across Elize when she's at her limit of trying to heal far too many people at once. With her mask covering her face, it's hard to see the difficult expression she's making as she tries to focus on her healing. Her hands are noticeably shaky as she holds them out, trying to channel her spell. She's straining her mana lobe far too much. Someone stop her... ]

c. Wildcard

[ Anything else! She can be found on the Pathstone, Iskaulit, or anywhere indoors when she isn't running around healing people! ]

[War games? Hardly, but Ciri's glad for the opportunity to play rough. It's a good way to expel all the energy that sparring hasn't been able to help with. One wrestling match gets a little heated, but it's over before anyone is seriously injured--though she walks away with a sore wrist. Nothing much, nothing that won't heal on her own, but it's forgotten when she spots a familiar person. Using magic, apparently, and perhaps too much of it at that.]

Elize? You don't need to be doing that.

[ it takes repeating his motivational speech about 500 times in his head, and throwing up (only!) once, but winn manages to convince himself to make the journey and step on non-earthly soil for the first time in his life.

now that he's here - it's actually pretty damn cool. ok, so the pollution part is awful, of course! although - helpful, because he's hunting down radiation-proof materials and this place seems almost tailor made for that need. in fact, it's kind of hard to ignore the gnawing suspicion that the producers brought him here because they're entertained by his little project. but even if they are - it doesn't matter, it can still bite them in the ass in the end! and the war games are giving him the creeps on so many levels - but he's on an actual alien planet! this is a once in a lifetime opportunity! well...maybe not once anymore, but he's going to treat it that way or it will be a lot harder to deal with, and the last thing he needs is to make things harder on himself.

he can be found wandering stores, examining both chemicals and safety measures very carefully - and wishing he had more money because it would absolutely suck to find out that he left just the crucial part he needed behind. ]

[The nice thing about the indoors is not needing the mask. It's hanging off her belt as she spots him. This way he gets to see that she's smiling.] You made it. How's it feel to be on solid ground again?

CITY; VIOLENT BALL GAMES
[ this isn't what he wanted when he stepped off the shuttle today.

he was in the city for thirty standard minutes. thirty minutes! and he's getting swept away in this weird, muddy version of grav-ball and boloball. the only thing he likes about this game is there are no rules. tired and bruised as the players seems to be, everyone is in good spirits and he doesn't understand how someone could be in such a jovial mood after being fiercely tackled.

he doesn't waste too much time on that. couldn't, really. he's being tackled and his body splats on the ground and breathing mask digs into his face a little too hard. for a moment, he lies there and breathes harshly through his mask.]

CITY; YE OLDE SPEEDERS FIXER UPPER
[ for most part, the planet's a bust. the tech is old, the breathing masks stinks, there's random people trying to rope him into participating in things he doesn't want to even remotely touch (seriously, he's wrestling a giant mutated salamanders). but there is a section where those with a need for speed goes and in the heart of it, there are locals with wind-swept hair, laughter and whooping through breathing masks.

it's almost like a few work shops he knows.

nostalgia, machines that roars like speeders, the feel of grease and oil in the air? this is his domain. he somehow manages to get involved with fixing a speeder simply by peeking over a shoulder or two and making a suggestion here and there.

there are no words for how it feels to be straddling an engine part, holding it in place. it's the piece that makes everything work. it is the star of the show. it is in his hands and being slotted in when a fire breaks out to his left, someone is screaming and there's motion and life--

and he is left hanging on to this 200lbs engine by the tips of his fingers, the rest of his body draped over the body of the car, and looking behind him for help. ]

H- Hey! Hey! Don't walk away, give me a hand here! Push that lift jack or I'm going to need a new hand!

[ that's right, all you have to do is push down on the lift jack handle. unfortunately, who ever is helping him (if there's anyone going to help him) is going to get way too close and personal to his butt. practically spooning. help a buddy out! just um don't reach around - he's married man for god's sake and chances are you're probably way out of his league ]

WILDERNESS; CLOSED TO SHINJI
[ in an attempt to dig the young man out of his quarters and get him feeling alive for once in his life (probably, it's a wild assumption that shinji hasn't lived a full life but listen, this kid doesn't even know about ice and blizzard), anakin has volunteered himself and borderline forced shinji out and into the wilderness. to explore, examine, explode with vigor.

it's not going well. ]

Ball games

[That mask gives Jaina pause, because wow the equipment is on the nose. But she's breathing hard in her own mask, adrenaline is pumping with competition, and she knows her grandpa's different now than the baggage tied to the mask's image. So she's planting feet next to him and, tiny as she is, offering him a hand up.]

Game hasn't been called yet. What are you waiting for?

Kaworu Nagisa

[Like many visiting members of the Fleet, Kaworu is out shopping — but not for a mask. Since landing an amount of cash that could be called plentiful, he's had one goal in mind: clothes. He's been wearing the same cycle of standard jumpsuits since his arrival with the Fleet! And that's not the end of the world; he's spent longer time with little choice in clothing. But... given the opportunity... Yes, he'd really like some nice and new clothes.

There are problems with this endeavor, however. For one, the moon isn't quite so luxurious as, say, the space station from before. There are fewer finds of high quality chic. Not that that bothers Kaworu... Honestly, he's happy with whatever. But that's not all! Another potential misfortune is that these are alien clothes... Many of these fashions don't align with what was popular on Earth. (Not that there were any fashion shows following the apocalypse.) Kaworu, therefore, is presented with a bunch of stuff he never even would have imagined. Admittedly, that doesn't bother him, either... And, his final problem is this: his eye for fashion is extremely hit or miss. Okay, yeah. You guessed it — his potential for clothing catastrophes also doesn't bother him.

But it might bother you, if you have any interest in clothes. Either way, he has no problem making conversation with whoever's close to him: ] I can't decide. Do you think I should just get both? [In his left hand is something reasonable: a garment that resembles a mellow striped cardigan. His right hand, however, holds some sort of robe all in neon pink and yellow. Save him.]

b. (check your oxygen privilege)

[The outdoor markets are full of junk and hagglers. Everything is livelier than what Kaworu is used to, and he's taking in his surroundings with big red eyes, openly interested. Despite his illustrious lifespan, or whatever it could be called, this atmosphere is made up mostly of things he just never had a chance to experience. He wants to soak it all in...

Kaworu's attention is largely held by the talkative throng all around, and by the wares the natives are selling, but then a screen catches his eye. One stall in the bazaar has something like a little television sitting out and facing the crowds. Kaworu doesn't know what it's playing, and he can't make out the dialogue over the sounds of busy shoppers, but something happens on-screen that tickles him — stopped in place, he laughs. It's a light sound, something like meringue, and warm too. The only poor thing about it is that when it's over, he unthinkingly takes his first breath since setting foot on the moon. The air quality is so bad that it startles him: his body cringes, and he coughs abruptly, bringing his hand to his mouth.

With his good mood replaced by bewilderment, Kaworu keeps his hand at his mouth for a moment before lowering it slowly, frowning down at his palm.]

I didn't realize it was quite this bad, [he says. The discomfort in his voice doesn't suit him like his usual ease and goodwill does.]

c. (paintball!!! ??? ?!?!?)

[It's not quite gunfire, but it sounds close to it, and who knows what sorts of firearms they have on other planets? Perhaps brashly, Kaworu's followed what he can hear to find out what's going on. If it is gunfire, he wants to see what's happening, and to make sure friends aren't endangered by this.

His surroundings aren't war-torn — actually, it looks kind of pretty over here? There are splatters in various colors... Idiot, he's walked right into the crossfire and he doesn't even know what this is. He sees someone's gun right as someone else gets shot at, and of course he's in the way...

But instead of striking him, the paintball hits what looks to be a wall in front of his body. If it is some sort of wall, it's very strange: mostly, it's not visible, but what you can see is a splay of concentric orange hexagons. They spread out, block the paint, and then flicker away, until the air is empty again. Kaworu blinks towards his unwitting assailant. First, he seems all the way unbothered. Then he lights up with delight.]

[Shinji has never been more aware of the space between their hands.

It's only an inch, but it feels more like infinity. Kaworu's hand is pure white compared to the tree branch it's resting on. This is the sturdiest tree they've been able to find in the dying forest. Up here, on the third tier of branches, is the perfect vantage point for watching a game of paintball some distance away. It was Shinji's idea to climb a tree, surprisingly enough. It's allowing him to sit closer to Kaworu--not too close, but not close as close as he'd like.

Ever since that night with the drunken texting and other stuff, Kaworu hasn't wanted to be close. Shinji is so afraid that tomorrow an inch will be two inches, then three inches, and then... He's felt like shit ever since that night. He blames himself for taking advantage of the things Kaworu was saying while out of his mind. Maybe Kaworu blames him for doing that, too. Maybe that's why Kaworu won't touch him anymore.]

Who do you think is going to win?

[Shinji is just trying to make idle conversation about the paintball tournament. One team is wearing red helmets, and the other is wearing blue helmets. They're both in it to win it, judging by their skillful maneuvering. Whenever there's a particularly raucous volley of shots, Shinji might flinch behind his illuminated face mask, but that's all. He'll be okay as long as he isn't forced to participate in the violence.]

[Before the moon is fully revealed, Shinji's excitement is a palpable thing. He can't stay away from the Heron's windows; he's trying so hard to see what's coming up next. Going to a new planet for the first time, he anticipates something vividly colorful and full of life. He has faith that every planetside story he heard from other members of the Fleet will come true all at once.

Naturally, nothing good can ever happen to him.

The sickly moon is the embodiment of everything he hates and never wanted to see again. It reminds him so much of his decrepit, misshapen home world that he spends a few days refusing to leave the Heron in protest. Eventually, he decides to stop being a baby about it, even though his mood remains ill-natured at best. His face is sour like he's been sucking on a lemon when he straps on a complimentary respirator and then boards a shuttle to the moon.]


1) SHOPPING.

[He might as well find out if there's anything useful he can buy here. He has a scribbled list of items to seek out: a sturdier face mask (he's paranoid), supplies for the garden on the Iskaulit, fish food for Ciri's pet, more music albums, a map of the local solar system, and maybe some clothes if he can find anything in his extra low price range.

At one point, he's trying his best to haggle with a snooty trader, and he's failing badly at it. There's no doubt that he sucks at negotiation.] Can't you give me a discount? [he asks peevishly.] I'm a kidnapping victim, you know. Kidnapping. I don't have that much money for fish food! [He's in dire need of some help.

At another point, much to his embarrassment, he's having trouble with reaching the top shelf in a store dedicated to all manner of face masks. Hopefully, you are taller than he is: he's barely above five feet.] Hey, can you... If it's not too much trouble, can you reach something for me? Please.


2) WAR GAMES.

[Shinji isn't interested in violent War Games for personal reasons, but he stops by one of the pavilions dedicated to strategic board games. He doesn't recognize most of them, which is to be expected: he's on an alien chunk of rock. Even so...

He can be found trying to learn something new. He's turning a leaflet of game rules sideways and upside-down, wondering what the hell he's reading here.] 'When you draw a card with one color block,' [he reads from the page,] 'move your pawn forward toward the Candy Castle to the first matching color space on the path.' [He frowns, then shakes his head in irritation.] But why do we want to go to the Candy Castle in the first place? I don't understand.

[Or, later on, he can be found reacting to a game he already knows. It's with a startling, heart-rending shriek that Shinji very abruptly accosts a table covered in extra shogi boards and dozens of white pieces. He swipes the pieces off of the table with his arm, splashing the floor and innocent passersby. He's incensed, but terrified. He seems possessed. Then, in a spike of a migraine and self-awareness, he realizes what he's doing and backs off right away. After that display, he can't stop apologizing and clenching his fists.]

Sorry. [He's shaking like a leaf, too. He's wide-eyed and shaking harder.] I'm so sorry, I don't... I don't know what came over me...


3) THE ISKAULIT.

[Because the polluted moon is so depressing in every sense, Shinji often retreats back to the Iskaulit to spend time with actual garden greenery. He isn't an expert horticulturist just yet, but he's useful enough with sorting seeds, pruning leaves and branches, and figuring out which plants need what nutrients.]

You're looking very beautiful today, [he says to a star-shaped flower that's as red as Y Canum Venaticorum.] If you don't mind my saying so. I heard talking to you is supposed to help you gr... [Oh. He isn't alone. Blushing lightly, he tilts his head to acknowledge whoever's watching him babble at plants like a moron.] Hello.

[A Susan takes the shuttle down to the planet at first opportunity and found it both overwhelming and heartbreaking. She stands out painfully in her Narnian garb and standard issue gas mask. She very quickly braids her hair back to protect it from some of the air, and spends most of the day asking very obvious questions of the shopkeepers and gathering as much information as she can as well as simply watching, observing.

B Her third day on the planet, it will be hard to tell Susan apart from the natives - at least in terms of dress. She learned a long time ago how to fit in when necessary, and so she's adapted rather drab versions of local fashion. She does not like the gas masks, but as they seem to be the one accessorized bit of fashion on this planet, it's standing out too much to maintain a standard one, so she purchases one in green with a matching hood. There are no bows and arrows, but they do sell hunting knives, and she purchases one to strap around her waist before making her way to:

C the Wilderness. She spends far too long out here - there is something intrinsically wrong with this planet, as if it never had the chance to be what it was truly called to become, and fell halfway from becoming something else entirely. She touches a tree with a gloved hand and it squelches beneath her fingers, and she thinks of dryads and naiads and nearly breaks down into tears right there. She does cry later. That doesn't stop her from going back the next day...

D Other! She won't be taking part in the war games if she can help it, though she might be persuaded to take part in some marksmanship competitions. She'll also be spending a lot of time just wandering through the markets and 'shopping,' although she's mostly talking with people.]

[ It's been a few days since the shuffle, and crews are even harder to maintain while docked on a planet. He's not really had the opportunity to talk with the newest addition to their crew, though he hasn't made the good ol' James Barnes hospitable welcome. It doesn't work so well with him. Apparently he's intimidating? Who knew.

Winter spots Susan in the marketplace, hovering near a booth of blades. He's seen her briefly, and faces here are much easier to remember. So sorry if you don't happen to recognize your captain, Susan! The goggles and face mask don't...really help. Though the metal arm is always a give away if she's seen him around.

He really doesn't mean to loom, it just..happens. ]

[ Dean wanders because he hasn't had the chance to in a long ass time, not in a way that actually mattered. Hot zones scattered here and there made it impossible to truly up and go, so the opportunity to breeze through an entire city without looking for Croats around every corner is as peculiar as it is- well, entirely impossible. He is expecting shit to go awry at any moment and it leaves him monumentally paranoid, stopping and glancing over his shoulder every other minute.

It's not like he means to, but there's flashes of instances where he goes for his gun, fully aware that it's not there but like those moments where the electricity is out and you try to turn off the lights, it's a habit he can't break. And despite the city being glossy and full of a myriad things to observe, Dean can't stop and smell the damn roses. Instead he keeps expecting people to collapse into shells of themselves, the crowds enough to drive him up the wall. So excuse him if he's just... utterly paranoid, skirting around people and managing to bump into others in his efforts to get the hell out of the way. ]

b) exploring (woods)

[ Much like the city, there's something about wandering that's inherently pleasant. Except for maybe the woods, where Dean isn't altogether interested in going much further. Too many experiences in the middle of the forest gone horribly awry, but he might be contemplating it. I mean, why the hell not. Not like he's gotten out of his skin much lately. But, even so-- running into something in the middle of the woods is not exactly on the top of his list of things to do. ]

Thinking i'll pass.. [ muttered under his breath, slowly wandering across the edge of the treeline. ]

c) wargames!!!

[ Now this? This is his speed.

Dean's not entirely sure how he feels about punching somebody for no good reason, and yet at the same time, he is all for it. Sign him the hell up. He's too good at being violent on the best of days, and there's something to be said about burning off chaotic, paranoid energy. It doesn't really help matters that he's a spitfire to begin with and he's hella inclined to start fights with absolutely anything that moves. So really, throw him in the boxing ring, let him try and beat your head in. Or make him bleed.

And handing him a paintball gun? Fantastic idea. He is ready to snipe just about anything, and if you'd like an excellent teammate who might go a little fucking wild with a gun, he's your man. Just don't be surprised if he gets a little more into it if he should. ]

[Sam honestly had decided to give Dean room.

He got it, got why it was shitty to even look him in the eye, why he didn't want anything to do with him. And once upon a time, not so long ago? He would have took whatever Dean dished out in distance and would have curled up into a ball somewhere, self-loathing and guilty and feeling completely and utterly undeserving. Whether it's what happened at home or what happened in Adstringendum in the years that followed Hell, he's gotten stronger. A little more like the old Sam, back when he was 24 and ready to puff out his chest and put a foot down. He still hates himself a lot, feels like shit for things he can't handle, but. Baby steps. Winchesters need to be stubborn.

... That said. Yeah. He's not going to go rushing in for hugs or sad dogeyes or anything. Dean needs distance. Time to think. Time to process. They'll take it one step at a time, and if at the end, this Dean still doesn't look him in the eye... he'll take it. What he's more worried to take is Dean going back there, when he has a chance to exist here. Maybe permanently. Maybe contentedly. It's not his Dean, but it also is. Utterly.

So he's out scoping for any materials for spellwork, for rituals, anything. He's coming up tragically flat in this world of industry, relying so heavily on steel and rigs and technological advances. Not a lot here. Damn.

As he goes to leave the store into the crowd, through, he bumps right into Dean. Practically chest to chest. He oofs and moves to apologize, to look slightly down at the tall man in front of him to say he was distracted, lost in the clouds, whatever. He holds his tongue and looks bewildered at the man who had come from that apocalyptic nightmare. It's like an unfortunate magnet between them, fate. Only fate is kind of a bitch here, because one doesn't actually want to deal with the other.

It's good to see him. It's also horrible to see him. Obviously.

"Ahm."

The Winchester is different in a lot of ways. He's thinner, lither. Better than he was a year ago, trust him, but still not at all the muscular man Dean knew from before. He's also got a shaggier, longer cut, and he looks -- older. Not the young-faced guy he used to be, but a more sharp-jawed hunter who's seen his fair share of season finales.

[She has to work to keep up with Tenel Ka and her Dathomiri warrior's build. At this stage she can't expect to keep up with a fully trained Jedi knight, much less one of Anakin's caliber. But she can make people work for it, and that isn't going to keep her from trying, especially when the only thing she sees on the line is some fun.]

[She chases after, managing to only stumble a little when her shirt gets snagged. It ensures he's got the lead, but she'll push to stay on his heels. Only thinking about trying to grab at his feet in retaliation, for now.]

[as much as she dislikes this planet, she can't say that she doesn't appreciate having the chance to visit the markets now that she has funds available. she can mostly be found there when she leaves her ship, wandering through indoor and outdoor markets and seeing what the merchants have to sell.]

[she has no interest in the games, but she nearly gets pulled in several times. luckily enough manages to make a narrow escape from her fellow players. for all her reluctance to participate, as she wanders from market to market, she does stop several times to observe them. for the most part, she moves on fairly quickly, but there are several that she lingers to watch a bit longer - mostly the strategy games.]

[Because Sorey is a very social creature who doesn't comprehend that one conversation does not a friendship make, he jogs over when he spots a (barely) familiar face and joins her in her shopping. [the more she sees of this planet, the more saddening she finds it. even so, she finds herself wandering through the landscape, admittedly curious about what there is to see. she can be found walking through the wilderness, adjusting her mask every so often to make certain it's positioned properly.]

[despite disliking the name of these competitions, some of them appeal to her. she can be found engaging in some of the more strategical games, fighting with foam bats, and competing in the moon's equivalent of paintball. she dislikes how messy it is even when wearing one of the jumpsuits atroma has provided, of course, but it seems like an effective means of training to her.]

c) iskaulit

[she finds a more effective means of training on this ship. though some of the things she sees are a mystery to her (she spends quite a long time trying to puzzle out what the a treadmill is meant to do), she can be found in this ship fairly often to make use of the exercise facilities.]

[After his discussion with Kitty, Erik is applying himself to a more thorough investigation of the Iskaulit. It's telling that he's been here for a month but still dragged his heels on doing so. A stubborn strain of denial that lingered. However it's been long enough now that he's divested himself of that. It's time to get to work, and plan for the long haul.

He's already seen the training room, but he sees Adelina there as he passes by. Leaning against the doorframe, he watches her peer at the treadmill.]

It's for running. When you switch it on, the floor of it moves.

[ Being on a moon is enough to make any werewolf a little antsy. And although it's likely better to remain on the Wonderduck, he ventures out instead, a bundle of anxious energy and nerves, he takes to the Games. He starts with some of the more physical ones, and doesn't turn down a match. He's strong, at the very least, and the gathered crowds find it very amusing that a scrawny, teenage boy is capable of tackling men ten times his size to the ground.

Maybe he's just finished one, maybe he's about to instigate one when he's found -- either way, feel free to interrupt him before he does something stupid. ]

b) exploring

[ He's restless on the moon, and although the city and the shops are interesting, Isaac feels like going for a run. The pollution is so bad here, however, that he's not sure he'll be able to safely see between trees and underbrush. He's on the outskirts of the city, peering into the woods, as though staring at it might make things clear up. Come bother him! Adventuring into mysterious woods on an alien moon sounds like a great idea, right? ]

c) shopping

What the heck is this supposed to be, anyway? [ Isaac plucks up a mask from one of the street vendors, his voice modified by the respirator he's wearing. The thing is hot and awkward, and the thought of wearing some large, ornate mask in the shape of an animal or person? No thank you. ]

They actually wear these? [ The shop owner gives a huff. Tact, thy name is Isaac Lahey. ]

A - shops and markets

[While the moon was far from the most pleasant place, at least the interiors offered just the sorts of distractions Felix had been hoping for. While harder to find, he happily wanders, taking in the colorful murals and chatting with locals whenever he finds the chance to do so. The few occasions he might be found outside, one might notice he's had his mask painted gold because he might as well try to look less hideous.

But the shopping is really what draws his attention. The influx of income from their cargo affords him the chance to search out luxuries, as sparse they are. Generally this means alcohol and what little physical books he can find, but he's attempting to be choosy.

Because there's one word he's been hearing that's been at the forefront of his mind almost since they arrived - PARTY. The skeptical part of him insists this could just as easily be code for human sacrifice, but he chooses the path of optimism, leaving him in a visible state of excited tension at all times. And if there's going to be a party, there's a pretty good chance he's going to need something decent to wear.

Thus while he's likely to be turning over the shops for alcohol or books, he's quite likely to be found harassing the clothing merchants, picking up something up with a crooked frown and asking imperiously--]

B - war games...sort of

[Felix isn't one for physical contests, unless you count the kind that go on in the bedroom, and frankly he doesn't see the people of this planet being quite so...progressive. Besides, he doesn't generally enjoy voyeurs for that kind of thing.

But the more intellectual side of things draws him in like a proverbial moth. He spectates happily whenever he finds a few people engaged in a small battle of wits, until he ends up playing one before he even knows how he ended up there. He loses the first time, not knowing at all how the strange game was played. But this only makes him want to try again.

Perhaps you find him involved in such a match, smiling and laughing regardless of how the game is going for him, or perhaps you find him on the way out with a stack of slim boxes full of different games.]

c - SS Starstruck

[Speaking of which, Felix can be found in the cargo hold with said games. While some are untouched, he sits on the floor with the bits of several boards separated and spread out all over. He's found a recognizable checkerboard and is currently cannibalizing bits and pieces from the various sets for ones that might serve as chess and checker pieces.

It's currently a bit of a mess.

[Crowley, of course, doesn't need a mask in this environment. There are benefits when you're an immortal being, it seems. He's only here for the sake of being off the Pathstone for a while. The moon has little to offer him other than some odd scenery and a lot of masks.

Still, he's more than happily to wander around with Felix, and peers over his shoulder at the aforementioned item with some mock upset at this affront to his most regularly worn colour. ]

[Outside of town there is a river, and that river runs by a mine, which every so often spews out a toxic sludge of industrial wastes into the water. Sure, it flows away downstream - eventually - but it leaves a trail of death in its wake: hundreds of fish float on the surface, washing up on the banks of the river. Those that aren't already dead soon will be. And through this mass graveyard of river-life walks Misty, in her tall black boots and long white dress, bangles on her wrist and a gas mask covering her face.

It's almost too much to bear. All this death, the poison and destruction, seeps into her very bones, like a spell gone wrong. But she fights, as she always does. Picking up the fish one by one, she cradles them in her hands for a few moments, until they begin to flop around again, gulping and desperate to breathe. There's no other visible signs of her magic at work - no glowing light or sparkles or incantations muttered under her breath. Just her.

She lets them gently back into the water and continues on to the next animal. It's a futile effort perhaps, a few fish in the face of a whole planet that's dying, but she can't be other than what she is. This is what she has to do.]

[Robin just so happens to be wandering around that same river. contrary to her, he's dressed all in black, his hands covered in dark leather gloves and his face hidden behind a creepy-looking bird mask.

he spots her from a distance, at first, and fully intends to head another way so as not to bother her or get stuck conversing with someone... but he notices her reach into the gross water and pick up a fish. curiosity keeps him watching (what is she gonna do, eat it?) just long enough to see the dead thing start moving again.

...which is not impossible, just... very, very improbable.

so now he can't not watch to see if she does it again, though Misty's welcome to notice the creepy bird man watching her from somewhere off in the trees.]

Charles Xavier | OTA

[ A - Closed to Hank and Erik. ]

[ After setting up a time, they manage to book themselves a small hotel room to meet up. In that time, Charles and Hank have already amassed a gaggle of metals and different chemicals, peering over them curiously and cataloging the names and properties.

So Erik is going to have a hard time pulling Charles or Hank away from their work. ]

[ He rarely missed Kyriakos.

Not in the way that Erik and Hank did. But they had closer bonds. Charles had them too, but they were veiled with the many bitter feelings over the teams and the way Ometotchtli was treated. It improved, certainly. But he never forgot and he never quite forgave either.

That being said, not having Sepsis or the Echo's easy fix-it solutions to his paralysis left navigation very difficult and he was loathe to have Erik and Hank hover around just to make sure he didn't fall off.

Which he did promptly during a fight. He sighs as he watches his chair flopping to his side. Just his luck. ]

The point is, he's a little disgruntled, and not sure why he was invited. Well, that's not true. It was his idea initially. That's why he was invited.]
